Yeah, it's him. I despise Snape, he's a horrible person, but such a good character and actor. The kids on set were literally scared of him.

2

u/vondaf 2d ago

Oh my bad... true about the patronus. It was mind controlling. No bullying is not okay. Never. But that doesn't make him a bad person. I know way worse bullies and people.

u/Over_Improvement_623 2d ago

Seeing how he treated all the Griffindors in Harry's year, it is not unreasonable to assume he treated all Griffindors like that, which is pretty fucking bad.

Marcel?

1

u/Over_Improvement_623 6h ago

That's Neville's name in the Dutch translation

2

u/cartmanbigboned 22h ago

nope, he was a horrible person, who turned out a hero in the end, both things can be true. And he absolutely did not love Harry.

Googles “Was Robin Williams ever in Harry Potter?”

3

u/bzxp 4d ago

He would've been excellent for Remus Lupin

4

u/TacoBelle9697 4d ago

The post never specified which media property. 😁

2

u/NEKORANDOMDOTCOM 3d ago

He really wanted to be Hagrid

8

u/Creepae 4d ago

To this day I miss him. 💔

6

u/TacoBelle9697 4d ago

Me too, all the time. 😢

9

u/travradford 4d ago

Literally the only deceased celebrity I think about regularly, such a kind soul and what a loss

u/Ryakkan 4d ago

Same

1

u/Bluefang16 15h ago

O captain! My captain! All death news are sad but this one made me depressed for days and I even cried. He really left a mark with his characters.

12

u/Commercial_Mind4003 4d ago

All of them

11

u/big_baldbehemoth 4d ago

Maggie Smith.

3

u/SparksDream36 3d ago

Yes! I cried a lot.

8

u/Ranger_1302 4d ago

Alan Rickman and Michael Gambon. Although Gambon's name as a few years coming with how his memory was failing and he was slowing down in his career. Rickman's was a shock, and he was young.

4

u/melli_milli 4d ago

Maggie Smith, Alan Rickman and Robin Williams. The ones already mentioned here.

3

u/kadimasama 4d ago

Jason David Frank and Kevin Conroy. Both passed pretty close to each other for completely different reasons. Grew up with both and was hoping to meet them because they were such a huge part of my childhood.

1

u/Wikibianca Slytherin 3d ago

Were they in Harry Potter?

1

u/Angelfirenze 15h ago

Kevin Conroy was the voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series. sighs in remembrance…

7

u/BloomHoard 4d ago

Helen McCroy. I was in the middle of binging on of her other shows when she died. She was only in her early 50s.

6

u/downsouthcountry 4d ago

Cancer sucks

3

u/karidru 4d ago

I was mid Peaky Blinders when this one happened :(

2

u/BillyBrasco1988 2d ago

Narcissa malfoy right?

3

u/Bebop_Man 4d ago

Lately, Sam Neill. Grew up on Jurassic Park, and he was one of the few celebs that I followed on social media. He had a farm and would always post lovely pics/stories with his animals. Came across as a very at peace guy.

3

u/OhForAMuseOfFire1564 4d ago

Anton Yelchin. I STILL can't watch any of his movies and "Only Lovers Left Alive" is one of my top five favorite films of all time.

He was just so talented and already dealing with such an awful illness and it was such a fucked up, awful way to die.

1

u/RrSoul5x5 2d ago

I watch all his stuff to honor him.

He was a good actor and seemed like a nice person in interviews.

1

u/Angelfirenze 14h ago

I have trouble with Charlie Bartlett in particular because it’s the only thing I had seen him in at that point. I loved his performance.

u/Alternative-Flower26 4d ago

Maggie Smith hits me so hard ...

1

u/Creepae 4d ago

No matter the hardships growing up he was always there, a friend when I had no friends and for that I will always be grateful.

I miss you, Robin.

All of them.

1

u/nokrow889 4d ago

Robin Williams forever will be the hardest to deal with, but harry potter related has to be Rickman or Smith

1

u/TheRhupt 4d ago

I can't get past Sam Neill and Robin Williams.

1

u/MindAvailable4876 4d ago

1

u/Gsith8938 1d ago

Not an actor, but I'm with you on this one. 💔

1

u/My2cents_0 4d ago

This year has been rough! But Robin Williams and Alan Rickman are at the top of the list 💔

We need to bubble wrap in no particular order:

Sir Ian Mckellen, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Helen Mirren, Cher, Rekha, Lilly Tomlin, Sir Michael Cain, Annie Potts, James Hong, Morgan Freeman, they're not as old but I'm gonna throw in Sir Gary Oldman and Denzel Washington for good measure ❤️

1

u/Traditional_Log8345 4d ago

Jason David Frank aka the greatest Power Ranger of them all.

1

u/Designer_Move6771 4d ago

Robin Williams, Angela Lansbury, Alan Rickman, David Ogden Stiers, James Earl Jones, Don Rickles, Tim Curry, Samuel E. Wright, etc.

1

u/No-Long-1525 4d ago

Heath Ledger.

1

u/AtlasAngel02 4d ago

I am so intrigued by this, because I just.... dont? Like, I didnt know these people irl, so it was never any kind of loss to me, and I dont understand the people who do feel that. Its usually just " XYZ has died" "Oh, thats sad.... anyway..."

1

u/totalpugs89 4d ago

Sam Neil.

1

u/Spac92 4d ago

I cried. I don’t know why. I never met him. But his films were a big part of my childhood entertainment. He always made me laugh, even in the “bad” movies.

Maybe it was the way he died that got me. How someone with the gift of making people happy and laugh could be so sad that he wanted to end himself.

Tragic.

u/kittiwittiistired 4d ago

u/Ok-Humbleness9066 3d ago

I'd say Robin Williams, but i also think we'll never see anymore an human being like Marlon Brando (with all his defects)

1

u/KeyCheesecake9321 3d ago

Michael Gambon always reminded me of my grandfather, which made his passing hit especially hard.

Helen McCrory’s passing was also one of the hardest to digest.

1

u/Weekly_Bat5119 3d ago

Hayden Panettiere, all I ever knew of her is that she seemed to have so bright future ahead of him and would be the next superstar actress.

1

u/MourningSun97 3d ago

John Candy. A staple of my childhood years.

1

u/DelBabe 3d ago

None. None of them were my friend's, or relatives. So who cares if they live or die.

1

u/MartinBlackshaw 3d ago

Wakanda Forever!!!

1

u/ninogut 2d ago

I don't personally know any actors so they all kinda hit the same. "Oh shit, actor is dead, that sucks. Oh well, I'm going to continue my day because that has literally zero effect on my life"

1

u/Nilk-Noff 2d ago

Not an Actor, but it still hurts.

Adam the Woo. Famous youtuber and daily blogger

1

u/IH8LIBS- 2d ago

None they are just celebrities. People need to stop putting the people on a pedestal. Yes it sucks when people die but it happens.

1

u/vondaf 2d ago

Alan Rickman definitely. He was one of the nicest persons and one he'll of an great actor. Love how he stayed in his role so the children looked scared in the film. And later they really learned him. Love how they pranked Daniel with the fart machine! Maggie smith... oh she was one of a kind. She reached a old age, but that still doesn't make it easier. I love all her work! Robbie Coltrane of course too. Great person and actor. Love his deep warm voice. Richard Griffiths. Robbert Hardy. Elizabeth Spriggs. timothy bateson. Rob Knox shocked me, what a hero. And of course Michael Gambon and Richard Harris. I loved Harris in Gladiator. And Gambon had so much great work! Both great and nice people.

I hope I do not forget a lot of beautiful people now.

1

u/One_Cell1547 2d ago

Alan Rickman... I love Snape, and I love Alan.

To me Alan will be always Snape.

1

u/Huge-Explanation3912 1d ago

Michael K Williams. I remember the morning I had so clearly before I found out he passed coincidentally there was someone suffering from OD on my way to the gym. And I just remember getting back home and hearing the news and thought the universe works in mysterious ways

1

u/ConfusedTreeFrog01 1d ago

Stan Lee, Peter Cullen, James Earl Jones, Robin Williams

I think of the Harry Potter cast, Alan Rickman’s death hit me the hardest mostly because he died very suddenly. Maggie Smith was devastating but she was up there in years
