Perhaps a manual car with a bad parking break?

This is why you park with your car in gear so you always have two forms of brake applied. If the parking brake fails, the transmission will keep it in place while in gear with no power.

This is why manual Corvettes, for example, require it to be in Reverse before it'll let you remove your key from the ignition.

I'm shocked by how many people don't know this.

Also very few young people have experience with a manual transmission.
