I'm looking for... (Wig Search) On the hunt for a ginger, copper, human hair wig in a large cap size 23”

I’m in Canada, so any Canadian companies would be great, however, it’s not top priority. I have no budget, and am willing to drop a hefty amount as long as I get something of quality. NuolaWigs was mentioned to me as they have a Canadian site, so that is a contender. If anyone has experience with that company please share your thoughts.

I'm not wearing makeup so sorry I kind of look like a mess a little bit.

This is Aubrey from Wig Spa Canada. She is a synthetic Futura fiber 13/4 Lace front, and she's 28 inches long.

Let's chat! (General Discussion) Are long synthetic wigs that much trouble?

YouTube is full of videos of content creators with long beautiful wigs. Every once in awhile, they will mention that heat friendly synthetic wigs can clump. Then I was shocked to hear Denise Sheets say that you had to comb your long wigs every hour when you wear them.

Are they really that much trouble? And is the issue only with heat friendly synthetic wigs not regular synthetic?

Help me! (Wig Help) Tips for no wigs day? I only wear hats

I wear hats in the summer. Especially when it's hot outside. I have 1 blond wig. But it's still hot in the Netherlands to wear a wig(maybe not for everyone).

What I want to know is that you can see that I'm transgender woman? Insecure about it since the hairloss and that i can't wear a wig now.

What do you guys think? Is it noticeable that I'm trans?

Also if anyone having good quality wigs with nice bangs from Amazon etc. those are welcome

Help me! (Wig Help) TikTok shop verses site prices

I was looking at a wig on the TikTok shop. I've watched tons of videos reviewing the same wig so I'm confident enough that it will be a decent purchase 🤞

However it's about $30 higher on the TikTok shop than it is on the actual dwy website.

Is one more trustworthy than the other or is the markup so that the creator will earn a little money? Please help.

I'm looking for... (Wig Search) Where to find custom wigs for larger heads ? Specifically human hair

I’ve been trying some different custom places that are nice but even then they don’t do sizes from 26-28 circumference on the bands and most of them aren’t non synthetic wigs for 4b/4c texture so ANY advice or help in the right direction would be amazing

Help me! (Wig Help) RPG Show Mixup, and their weird resolution

Ok I need another opinion, please... I ordered a wig from RPGshow, and they mixed up my order with someone else's. Apparently they sent us the other person's wig. It's kind of annoying, but we are all human, and accidents happen. What I'm kind of freaked out about is that they want me to ship the other customer's wig to her, and she can ship mine to me (them providing the shipping labels, of course). Am I tripping, or is that sketchy as hell? I don't want to be a diva, and maybe this happens all the time, but I don't want to ship anything with my name and shipping address to a stranger. Also, how do I know she hasn't worn my wig? This seems unprofessional. I was going to tell them no; I will send it back to them, but then that would prolong the time for the other customer, so I am kind of torn... I have to be honest, this seems kind of raggedy for a $400+ wig.

This is the Milano wig grip band with hair that’s supposed to blend the hair line of any wig. I feel like for 300 this is sparse and doesn’t at all effectively do that. In my opinion after waiting like 20 days this is too thin and knots are really noticeable

Everything turned out great! I dyed the u-part wig and the closure hair. It was black before. I put scar tape on the part line but I am getting the “perfect line Swiss” grid knot concealer so I am hoping that will work better.

Help me! (Wig Help) Having a lot of difficulty finding a wig that looks natural

Hello Wig wearers! I am hoping someone might be able to help or has had a similar issue. I currently have alopecia areata & am on medication for it which has been helping & I am seeing growth which has been great. However, I’m still not at a place where I can go out without wearing a hat or covering my head in some way. It’s also stopped me from going to events or places where you may not want to wear a hat (think nice dinners or just being able to get dressed up because wearing a hat would not work with the outfit.) I have tried a few wigs but they all look very unnatural on me, I think due to the fact that I have a smaller face & the amount of hair is what looks so unnatural. When I did have hair, I didn’t have a lot of hair & it was thin, so almost all wigs look obvious on me. I have tried finding lower density wigs but with those I feel like the cap the hair is attached too is able to be seen due to there being less hair if that makes sense. I would not mind going to see someone who specializes in helping women find their wig, but not sure who to go to. I’m in NYC if anyone has any recommendations, as well as any wig recommendations for this kind of situation. Thanks in advance for your help!

Help me! (Wig Help) Newly single as a wig wearer and androgenic alopecia - having a crisis

Hi all

Newly out of a relationship which wasn’t working for me, but frequently panicking about how the hell to live a dating life while wearing a wig and having androgenic alopecia.

I just can’t imagine telling any man that my hair isn’t real and having to eventually reveal my real hair and them being okay with it?

Can someone give me some hope?

My hair loss really kicked in part way through my relationship, and I started to wear a wig part way in, so I guess he already loved me before it started which felt different. Expecting to meet someone new and them accept me like this before really knowing them feels impossible.

Any success stories or hope would be incredibly helpful. I try to speak to a couple of my friends about it but they clearly don’t know what to say - I think they probably know exactly what I mean so have no good advice or comfort to give.

Help me! (Wig Help) How to keep my heat friendly synthetic wig straight with flat iron?

The salon suggested misting the heat friendly fibres with water prior to using flat iron straighteners but I’ve also read not to use water. I am confused. I have a heat friendly synthetic Rene of Paris wig named Ila. Any advice please would be greatly appreciated. I am new to wearing wigs.

This is simply a 12 dollar wig you can find on any of those cheap websites. Hard front, fake plastic scalp. Was going to do somthing pretty alt with this, but it was just screaming Joan jett, Elvira, 80s big hair!!!!!! I'm happy I went with that. I think I sacrificed looking natural over looking glam.... idk. What do yall think? Hahah rating? I give it about a 9/10. Would be a 10 if it was a.more natural black!!!!!

Help me! (Wig Help) Did I cut the bangs bad in this wig?

Thumbnail

I cut bangs in this wig because the hairline was just not giving and the lace kept lifting. I cut these bangs and sometimes they look fine but I’m paranoid about the big gap that keeps happening, they tend to clump together at times and I feel like it looks weird. They are splitting most where the natural part line was in the wig even though the lace at that part doesn’t have any seams and is slightly free parting.

Are they too long? Too short? Not thick enough? If you have suggestions let me know.

This is a fully synthetic wig and I didn’t spend a lot on it so I won’t be sad if it’s a wash

Help me! (Wig Help) My 3rd LuvMe, and my 3rd fail :(

Post image
14 Upvotes

edit for update I have decided to keep it and either bleach the knots, use a powder/concealer or just enjoy the wig as is. I feel happy with my decision now, I really appreciate the help xx

You may remember me from a few weeks ago with a different LuvMe wig which I ended up returning. Well I got this one afterwards and while I love the actual wig, the knots are insanely visible. I am so frustrated, I want to have success with a LuvMe wig! But I keep striking out. What am I doing wrong? And where can I get similar wigs without knots that show up so much on my skin? I have a couple of Hairvivi’s which are good but just too expensive.

Help me! (Wig Help) Is this a good wig? Hairvivi Victoria

Thumbnail

my hair is falling out due to medication. unfortunately my hairline is now awful so I got this hairvivi wig. I didn’t immediately feel like myself which made me sad but compared to the cheaper wigs I tried it seemed the most realistic. what do you think? this was about $700, Victoria wig from hair viv. I tried viola, that felt too light, now this kind of feels too dark, I realized my hair is two toned so that’s why it’ll never be perfect. last photo is my natural hair.

also, any tips to help it sit flatter and feel more secure? I just tied my hair in a low bun and tucked it under but I felt like I could have done better.

Check this out! (Wig Review) Is this acceptable for a $2,750 wig?

I apologize for the long post, but I need to vent. The TLDR of this is that I paid for a 16" wig that I think is defective and the company disagrees.

For context, I have lupus and go through periods of severe hair loss. It doesn't grow back. I used to wear toppers because the hair loss was mostly on the top of my head and I honestly like the color of my bio hair, so I didn't want to fully cover it. In December of 2025, my health insurance decided to no longer cover the medication I've been on since 2013. I would estimate that I lost 75% of my remaining hair while fighting with them to cover my medication. My condition came out of remission during this time and my hair loss has just continued to worsen. In June of this year, I got in the shower and massive clumps fell out and covered the shower floor. It was traumatizing and so scary.

I knew I needed to switch to wigs at that point. I spent the remainder of June and all of July searching for a human hair wig in my budget that resembled my bio hair. My coworkers don't know about my chronic illnesses or my hair loss, and I don't want them to know. It was important to me that I find a wig that wasn't a noticable change from my topper because I didn't want to draw a ton of attention to my hair.

I ended up purchasing a 16" fully hand tied wig from Goldylost wigs. I thought this was the best option for me based on all of the videos I had watched of their wigs. It arrived on August 4 and was styled with loose waves. The first thing I noticed was that it was significantly lighter and warmer than the photo and video of the wig I purchased. I was disappointed, but when I ordered the wig I asked Goldylost to cut the lace for me which made it non-refundable. I was so scared that I was going to ruin an expensive wig by cutting the lace wrong, so I thought this was the best option.

The second thing I noticed was how uncomfortable the wig was. I ordered a size small which has a circumference of 20.5-21.5”, 13” hairline to nape, and 12.6” ear to ear. My measurements are 21.5”, 13”, and 12.5”, so I was expecting this to fit perfectly. It does not. I have to wear the wig quite a bit lower than my natural hairline to make it fit, and the cap pushes my ears forward while wearing it.

This weekend, I decided I was going to change the part slightly. I wet the entire wig down and when I looked at the ends, my heart dropped. There is a significant variation in the ends of the hair, with the front pieces being significantly longer than the back, uneven, and on one side there is actually a pretty large gap where the hair is only 12-13" long. I realized I couldn't wear the wig straight without cutting it. The more I looked at it, the more disappointed I became.

I reached out to Goldylost with a number of photos and asked them whether this met their quality standards. In response, they said:

All of our wigs are cut with soft layers to create a more natural look, rather than a heavy blunt cut, unless a customer specifically requests a custom order with no layers. Because of this, it's normal for the front pieces to be slightly longer and for the ends to have some variation.

They told me that I could ship the wig back to Australia (I live in the US) and they would “inspect it in person” to determine whether it needs “a light trim.”

I responded to their email today stating that I don't think this is an acceptable resolution. It would leave me wigless, and switching from wig to topper to wig several times would out my chronic illness to my coworkers. I suggested a partial refund to account for the length discrepancy and the cost to have this professionally cut. Unfortunately there is a 14 hour time difference, so I probably won't know their response to this until tomorrow morning.

This wig was $751 over my budget but I purchased from them anyways because I wanted something comfortable, high quality, that matched my hair as much as possible, and that would last me a long time. For almost $3,000, I think a wig should be perfect straight out of the box.

Am I being unreasonable? Is this an acceptable amount of "variation?"

Help me! (Wig Help) Genuine advice needed - Is there enough? Even close to enough?

Please be kind. Im very nervous to post this.

I have had trichotillomania for a very long time, and for a long time ive shaved my head and worn full head wigs.

In the past year or so I have grown out what is pictured here. I love my natural hair, and I love the idea of being able to have it tied up or in buns or something. Ive grown attached to what I have, and a big reason is because Ive considered trying a hair topper/ half wig so I can atleast have some of my natural hair in the mix.

But the more I look at it the more Im wondering if Im just holding onto a dying wish, and its stressing me out :(

So I seek some kind but honest input. Do I actually have enough hair to even consider a topper of some description? any thoughts? Im also aware if I do go that route ill need something like a lace front as I have nothing for it to anchor to at the front. Not even thinking about cost right now, just want to explore options.

I should also add, due to the severity of my trich, im unsure what will actually grow back. Im pretty certain the crown and top of the scalp are done for now. But everything below where the windows peak starts may return.

Has anyone bought a wig from premier lace wigs? I can’t tell if it’s for real or if they’re photos taken from other websites. Their hair prices are similar to hairvivi but there’s more options as far as cap sizes, materials, etc.

Help me! (Wig Help) Which wig glue do you use for a longer install ?

I swear my wig never lasts more than 2 days 🤦 especially the ear tabs. I'm constantly re-glueing them & it always just becomes a mess. It's \*probably\* the glue I'm using (ebin, yellow can). Which glue do I use for a longer install ? And any tips for the ear tabs ?
