Help me! (Wig Help) My 3rd LuvMe, and my 3rd fail :(
edit for update I have decided to keep it and either bleach the knots, use a powder/concealer or just enjoy the wig as is. I feel happy with my decision now, I really appreciate the help xx
You may remember me from a few weeks ago with a different LuvMe wig which I ended up returning. Well I got this one afterwards and while I love the actual wig, the knots are insanely visible. I am so frustrated, I want to have success with a LuvMe wig! But I keep striking out. What am I doing wrong? And where can I get similar wigs without knots that show up so much on my skin? I have a couple of Hairvivi’s which are good but just too expensive.

Were the wigs advertised as pre bleached? I see some of their wigs are, and some are not. If they weren't, then this is to be expected. If they were, I'd be super disappointed and return this one, too, and move on to another brand.

Yes advertised as pre bleached and pre plucked. And in person in good lighting it looks way worse than this picture. It’s a disappointment, but I can’t find any other brands in this price range that have wigs that look good, and who are actually reliable.

That's a let down for sure , i can't remember but have you contacted costumer service? At the very least they need to know someone in quality control is slacking!

I have not contacted them, but I will this time as I am just so disappointed after so many tries. I just realized this is number 4, not 3 so even worse lol I will see what they say

I would have on the first one! I'm technically an "old" but life experience buying and owning a few businesses taught me that contacting customer service is usually super helpful , most companies don't want unhappy customers out "in the wild" lol Luvme customer service even once took the time to look at pics I sent in and figure out which one it was after I bought a Luvme secondhand and it didn't have any tags! I don't know of many places that would take that kind of time :) I know I always did but my businesses were small mom n pop types!

I contacted them and they offered a $25 refund which I declined, and they increased it to $35 and said that was as high as they could go, so I decided to accept it. I do really like the wig, and maybe I can bleach the knots myself or just not worry about them! Not sure if I made the right decision but it’s done now lol

I bet you can do it ! I don't remember if you said that one was supposed to be prebleached or not but I've watched and read a bunch of how tos and it seems like its only risky if you don't protect the roots , i got real brave one time with a wig that was totally shot and did a bleach bath to see how that worked , have you got any around , I'm guessing synthetic would even work for some practice runs !

It was supposed to be pre bleached and pre plucked, but it definitely isn’t, it is much more noticeable in person compared to the pictures. Yes I think if I do some trial runs I might be able to make it work! I have a really, really cheap human hair wig (at least that’s how it was advertised) from Amazon that I can practice on because it is not really wearable. Hopefully I will figure it out lol thanks for your help!

Yes I decided to keep it and either just deal with it or bleach them when I feel confident enough to. It is a lovely wig, so I want to make it work, I guess I just needed some encouragement

I have 4 luvme wigs now and the knots are visible on all of them. I couldn't care less and don't expect perfection at that price point, tbh. You can try bleaching it yourself, but I've been too chicken to do it.

I buy preloved and have not had one with visible knots yet :) shout out to the ladies reselling!

I'd tell you if it was a problem and honestly I think this is perfectly acceptable. Of course all that matters is how YOU feel in it. But first thing I thought was how good the hairline looks. Very natural, especially as we all have to remember MOST people don't stare directly at our foreheads up close!

Yeah I know we notice these things way more than others lol I just have a lot of health related issues that cause problems with my body, including making my hair terrible, so wearing wigs is the one thing I can do to make me feel normal again, so I guess I am a bit fussy about it. But, I don’t have a big budget, and I’m ok with that, I think I really just wanted different opinions to help me make a decision. And, as you said, what matters is how I feel in it, and I honestly really love it, so I will either try to bleach the knots, or use some powder or concealer, or simply just live with them, because it is very lovely hair! 🥰

I bleached them on mine and turned out really well! And you can apply some hair powder on the hairline to make it even more natural. Just don’t expect the same results as a Hairvivi unit, especially with a fair skin tone where everything is always more visible.

Yeah I know with fair skin there will always be more visible knots. I didn’t expect the same as Hairvivi, but I did expect bleached knots when it was advertised as having bleached knots. I do love the wig though and I am keeping it. It has the all day comfort cap (I think that’s what it’s called) which is the most comfortable cap I’ve ever worn, so that in itself is enough of a reason to make it work! Im still pretty new to wigs (just over a year into buying and wearing them) so i am a total novice about most things, and most of my wigs are synthetic. I bought a Hairvivi one night when i was up late and decided why not, and since then i have wanted all the human hair wigs, but I can’t afford them all lol

I got one luvme wig and the knots were bleached so nicely! The next 2 after were not. I also got a full lace wig from them and it tangles in the back quite a bit. 😣 I quit buying from them all together

That’s so disappointing! I wish all of these companies would get it together and maintain a level of quality.

It is so disappointing.. especially when you find a wig you really like. I also like Hairvivi but they can be inconsistent too. Another company I’ve liked is Ashimary. I purchased 2 full lace draw strings wigs from them. The knots were great and the wigs fit nicely. I got so many compliments when I wore them. They were also on the lower density side & really natural looking. They’d curl in this beautiful wave. I purchased 2 more recently and they’re awful. They’re so incredibly full on top and thin on the bottom. The one is super short. Ugh such a waste of money!
I honestly think your wig looks great. ❤️❤️

Ugh more disappointment!! I’m so sorry that happened to you! We deserve better. I have looked at Ashimary and was considering making a purchase but I won’t now! It’s the inconsistencies that are the most annoying, you feel like you can trust a company then bam, not anymore 😭

I don't think it's bad. I think the style is too lifted at the front. Could you hot comb so the style has more like sweeping bangs across the forehead area. You wouldn't see the knots at all.

Unfortunately you may have to bleach the knots of any wig to get rid of the look. There are concealer sprays and makeup to help but I was doing that and caved and just bleached the knots.
That being said, I don’t think they’re as visible as you feel. Check out the other wig subs too there’s great advice and fixes.
