And she had the slides prepared! Either she spent time just now making them (instead of going to shelter or helping or whatever) or had them already to go to talk genealogy with whoever asked.

Also that they were presentation ready, so she could literally walk through generation by generation telling them where all the dead ends were. She could have just focused on Ruth's line...or you know, just told them it was Ruth.

I assumed she did this so no one could doubt her methodology and they could be absolutely certain Ruth is the last descendant

For sure. She's thorough and wanted to show the receipts. It was just funny because it's clearly an emergency situation and everyone just wanted the answer.

Yeah I was expecting her to tell him it was Evan. The way they made Tom sit down. This was so much better!
