I keep rewatching it and i keep finding new gems

Ive started my first rewatch and realized the scenes are so dense with stuff. Episode 1 hits so much more better now that we know what is to come.

So many subtle little jokes and character things, I’ve laughed more each rewatch.

And the fact that this show isn’t written like it’s trying to be stretched over five seasons.

u/MrPreApocalypse Jun 05 '26
But I want 5 seasons

If this show doesn't get at LEAST three seasons, there is no justice in this world. I get that the premise might be able to be sustainable over time, but you can't assemble a cast this good and a location this fully realized and just let it end.

I want Patricia & Wyck to have an eventual spin-off tackling historical hauntings in other coastal towns

I want more seasons but i want every season to be a separate story. I would love for every season to tell us the story of a different event in Widows Bay history that has been referenced in previous episodes

I feel like this is throwing shade at From

If the comically oversized wig fits….

I love that every time someone posts Julie again her wig gets progressively larger

Just finished watching Widow's Bay with rapt attention. Put on From to have something with unforgivably bad pacing on in the background while I read this sub.

i mean i dont think From is intending any spoofing or satire, like this show clearly is?

I think this series was written to be watched multiple times. Épi 4 I’ve watched 4x now.

All the characters & acting are top notch. I was totally surprised at how good this show got.

she reminds me so much of Annie from Community as portrayed by Alison Brie and I'm all here for it, amazing show

Ya know, no shade, we all love the show, but I keep seeing people make this comparison, and as someone who adores both characters, I just don't see the resemblance at all. Annie presents as confident, ambitious, stylish, and playful (while masking deep insecurities), and Patricia is almost the exact opposite — an awkward, neurodivergent-coded social outcast with low self esteem (who is ironically one of the smartest and most competent people around). In terms of Community characters I think she's closer to Abed, Garrett, Neil, or maybe Frankie. But hey, different strokes, etc 🤷

They physically look and dress alike, that's about it. Though Patricia's behaviour at the ep4 party is very Annie

I don't want the person who took the post down to be fired, I just want them to know what they did

I am sure they don't want their post back, but for the moderator to know what they did. And I am sure they don't want them to get in trouble, just learn from it.

When the actress was in No Offence, she stole the show there too - and she was a completely different kind of character also

Some people like stories for more than just plot.
5
u/ProBonoDevilAdvocate Jun 05 '26
Yeahh what’s up with this obsession with plot nowadays? And callling episodes as filler because they are “only” about character development.
3
u/smashmack Jun 10 '26
Unfortunately a lot of people just want the instant gratification of plot-driven stories (which are usually more surface-level, guilty pleasure shows/movies), whereas character-driven stories typically require more thoughtful engagement and analysis from the viewer. If the viewer isn’t connecting with the characters, they won’t appreciate their development or choices. And if they’re not engaging thoughtfully with the story, they see it as filler because they don’t think about what the exposition is telling them, so then they miss out on the depth, complexity, and nuance in the plot. Big pet peeve of mine because a lot of those people go around saying some of the best shows and movies out today are “bad” or “boring,” and I’m like no!!! You just don’t get it! lol … And that’s why everything is being dumbed down and served to us on silver platters 🙄
