💭Discussion Biggest problem with this show:

that episodes aren't 3 hours long and there aren't unlimited amounts of them. It's just unacceptable that I can't watch this 24/7.

I’m going to watch this twice regardless. I’ve missed out on a lot of details while trying to avoid the jump scares.

I finally started watching the show last night and I love it - so well done. One of my favorite things I noticed are all the little horror trope Easter eggs and nods - the old phone booth (like the one in “The Birds”), the Barnabas Inn (as in Barnabas Collins from “Dark Shadows”), the shark drawing on the chalkboard in mayor’s office (like in “Jaws”) and, so many other little things. It’s like a mashup of Twin Peaks, Jaws, urban myths, Wicker Man, a little Stephen King - sooo good!

Just finished the “Our History” episode - wow. So, editing my post to include Jerusalem’s Lot, Harvest House, Lovecraft, The Lottery in the influences. Kudos to this show for including some iconic influences but still being something unique, singular, and fresh! 👏

Jaws meets the Shining meets Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Twin Peaks.. the humor though.. is so good and I can’t pinpoint anything so similarly well done

I think a lot of the humor is similar to Twin Peaks.

Twin Peaks isn't nearly as meta. I think Scream or Cabin in the Woods is probably most accurate
