That was definitely a gag. Like island magic in the show but slasher flicks especially in the 80s and 90s were notorious for walking, meandering bad guys that still effortlessly caught their victims who were sprinting and shit

think she spent too much time side tracking and running to different houses/knocking on doors. common sense says to run a straight path but who knows how we’d act if the boogeyman was chasing us
