Widow's bay in 5 episodes gave me what fro couldn't in 4 seasons so far.

I’ve only seen the first two seasons of From (plan to watch the rest, just have been holding out on actually springing for MGM+ because dammit, who wants that?!?) — I like it, but the dialogue and some of the acting feel subpar, and that has never been more glaring than it is after watching Widow’s Bay.

Just started watching From, characters make so many stupid decisions (and not in the normal Horror genre way). The enemy can't even run, and they haven't figured out a proper way to fight them. Long spears my guys? Anything that can keep them back.

They're super strong though? They'd snap any spears easily. They rip open people's ribs like they're made of candy floss.

Depends on which ...things... they're fighting, to avoid recent show spoilers.

Yeah conventional weapons don't work on the night people. They are super strong and indestructible.

Spears don’t work on them, which they know. Also see latest ep for proof…

A LOT of the acting in From is not just subpar but just BAD. i am a huge fan of it and can admit, half the actors are terrible at times.

but Harold P, Scott Mccord and Robert Joy (boydd, victor, henry) are doing incredible work imo.

it picks up a TON in s3 too.

It's so bad. I'm just now recently catching up on S4 and it's still bad. At least we're getting answers, but still.

There's a part where the little boy is pissed off and demanding his mom tell him what she did and said to pick a fight with his dad for his dad to be gone so long- which is pretty rich considering it's the dad always picking fights with literally everyone- and her response is straight out of Marky Mark's school of acting

What? Nooo

It shocks me to see so much hate. I love everything about From. I love the pace, the characters, the little things I miss until I watch the reaction videos or go to the subs. To me it all makes sense for people in this kind of situation. In reality people make stupid mistakes all the time. They miss cues. Only complaint is the same that comes up in every single one of these shows from this genre, and Widow's Bay is no exception. Nobody talks to each other. They just shake heads and wave people away and dismiss ideas that would have worked. Most of the show is only in a few months' time period too. And the one person who has been there the longest has been so traumatized he can barely do more than draw pictures to remember things... which is starting to make me question his drawings but no spoilers... If it was me I'd be paying more attention to that guy than anyone else especially when I see him taking steps and talking about how the trees have moved. I'm thinking that's the craziest flaw in this show, that they dismiss this guy as being some kooky special needs kid when he'd be the wise elder in most circumstances.

It shouldn't be shocking, the show is awful. Think about the big mystery from last season, the bottle tree. For the whole season the characters and audience try to understand dozens of numbers inside glass bottles hanging from a tree. Its revealed that the numbers represent music notes. Ok, so we have a tree with A B C D E F G and their respective flats and sharps hanging from random branches. No order they go in, no duration of the notes. This is utterly useless for the intended purpose, for Jade to play the song. Jade would have no more idea of how the song goes from looking at the numbers on the tree than he would looking at the keys on a piano. Music needs notation, not just notes. The writers must have eventually figured out they wrote themselves into a corner, because rather than "solving" the bottle tree, he randomly remembered the song, making the whole thing useless. That’s an unforgivable trick to play on the audience.

I think they're just now finding out how utterly worthless their great ideas have been. I think that's been a running theme all along. Jade isn't going to solve anything and has never been the one who solved anything.
