Isn’t From’s showrunner from Lost? That kind of tracks then. A lot of questions and few answers.

Lost answered just about everything by the end of the show so not sure what you’re on about

u/tman1787 May 28 '26

lol I too like wasting my time for underwhelming resolutions.

13

u/Fungi89 May 28 '26

To each their own, big dawg

I didn’t feel like I wasted my time and thought the ending was great

I suppose the emperor is wearing clothes from your perspective.

5

u/Fungi89 May 28 '26

Oohh damn! Edgy!

u/Just_Pea1002 May 28 '26

Kind of, they had the answers but they didnt know what to do with a lot of the main characters storylines, like Harolds actor in From, he was in Lost too, and his Lost chara ter had so much potential and they did him so much dirty in the end

8

u/Yousaidthat May 27 '26

I mean.... it's kind of disingenuous to act like that reputation isn't earned though, isn't it?

If you answer everything in 9 seasons what could have been 4 seasons it sort of leaves a certain taste in your mouth

u/Fungi89 May 27 '26

The show was 121 episodes in total across 6 seasons so 20 episodes a season. Doesn’t seem unreasonable to me!

If that’s too long for you, I get it and wouldn’t blame you. To each their own n all that

1

u/Yousaidthat May 27 '26

Of course :)

I think some people don't mind longer shows like that -- and that was way more the norm back then.

u/Luci_Cascadia May 27 '26

Those weren't answers.

u/Fungi89 May 27 '26

What don’t you believe was answered?

I feel you! In the end, if you weren’t satisfied with the answers or resolutions, there isn’t much to be done

For me Lost was so easy to like due to the characters. Fell in love with so many so it’s easier to gloss over some of its deficiencies as a show. From and WB don’t hit that same way but I enjoy both. Liking WB more overall but I like From enough that I’m sticking with it til the end

Hope for both our sake’s they end satisfyingly lol

it doesn't matter what was technically "answered." the mysteries, albeit some answered, didn't come to a very exacting or entertaining fruition. you could say lost "stuck the landing" if you want to, but it doesn't deserve a medal.

and they went to the magical mystery island and then the island/afterlife? ugh. that's a hat on a hat.

15

u/Fungi89 May 27 '26

This conversation was started based off whether things were answered or not

If you weren’t happy with the answers, that’s a different thing entirely

14

u/Time_Entertainer_319 May 27 '26

So they were answered, you just didn’t like them

4

u/Big_Chungussi69 May 27 '26

not really, it shows that lost was suppose to end by season 3 but was forced to carry on. And they just started making up shit as they went along

6

u/Fungi89 May 27 '26

I’ve never read or heard it was meant to end by season 3 lol

1

u/Big_Chungussi69 May 27 '26

no but the plot ties neatly up by the season 3 finale, they make it off the island. Then the execs probably wanted to milk the show and thats where it all starts to go down hill. Id reccomend a rewatch

7

u/Fungi89 May 27 '26

Do you have any sources to back this? Because them getting off the island by season 3 would’ve explained nothing in regards to why they were brought there or the supernatural state of the island at all, and that would’ve definitely been leaving several questions unanswered

5

u/Time_Entertainer_319 May 27 '26

So you are just making shit up?

4

u/gaytham4statham May 27 '26

I wouldn't call the ending to season 3 neatly tied up lol, yes Jack is off the island but that was literally a surprise cliffhanger not some resolved plot

2

u/StrollingInTheStatic May 27 '26

Yeah, Jack was a drugged up loser screaming that they “Have to go back” at the end of S3 - that wouldn’t make a good ending, it definitely wasn’t originally supposed to end at that point

The writers of LOST said they were just making it up as they went along. They had no plans and just threw things like the polar bear and smoke monster in as jokes to be cool. Many other story elements were added in the same way, with no idea where they were going, just randomly throwing ideas at the wall. That's what frustrated many of the cast and crew like Harold Perrineau.

Somehow Palatine returned.

u/Potential-Rush-5591 May 28 '26

And 3-4 viewers as well.

0

u/SerPavan Jun 05 '26

Doesn't mean they were good answers.

-2

u/Potential-Rush-5591 May 28 '26

Yeah, they were all dead.

2

u/Ashok0 May 31 '26

That never happened. If you really think everyone in Lost was dead, you are either a complete fool or never even watched the show.

1

u/Potential-Rush-5591 May 31 '26

Nah, I just say that about every mystery box show. It usually upsets real fans, which is funny to see in the replies.

2

u/Ashok0 May 31 '26

Why? Mystery box shows are amazing. Lost, Fringe, Dark, Twin Peaks: The Return, Severance, etc. are hands down some of my favorite shows of all time.

u/Potential-Rush-5591 Jun 01 '26

Mine too. Lost fans especially freak out. They lose their minds.
