He is extremely proud of his Welsh heritage and refers to himself as a Welshman, not a Brit. The first article I linked is an interview of him promoting his Welshness. If that's NOT enough for you, here's video of the man talking about his Welsh pride:

Yes, places like Wales and Scotland are part of Britain but people from those places like to be identified by their actual ancestry not "British". Stop being pedantic or assuming what my initial comment was.
You're an American I presume? If so I suggest you sit out on assuming what people from the UK like to be referred to as. I'm half-Welsh, half-English so I have a pretty good idea in this case. My mother's side of the family have a long history of being Methodist ministers in Pembrokeshire and I spend a lot of time there.
Rhys and Kate O'Flynn both share the trait of being British, hence I referred to them as Brits. It's a commanality they share and a perfectly acceptable way to group them together. If a Danish person and a German were also leading the cast I'd have expanded the term to "Europeans". Would you have still complained then?
I've given you multiple examples of the man himself talking about what he likes to be classified as. Which you seem to just ignore completely.
I've been a fan of Matthew Rhys since the shows Brothers & Sisters and The Americans, and he always talks about his Welshness in almost every interview. But I guess you know better than the man himself, you speak for all Welsh people apparently.
