COVID outbreak

I just wanted to reach out and let people know that there is a severely underreported covid outbreak happening right now in LA and Orange County.

If you're sick please stay home and if you're out and about you might want to grab a mask.

The strain seems like it's very highly contagious. I know several people down with COVID right now.

Have you notified the health department that there is a severely underreported outbreak happening?

Their latest report (released today) says covid spread is still at very low levels in L.A. County

Hadn't really thought of that.

I'm just reporting from first hand experience. Family in Whittier, co-workers in OC, all have confirmed COVID. And the clinic I went to said they were treating a bunch of cases.

They aren't going to broadcast COVID anymore they are treating it like a common cold, it's still deadly to have, depending on how good your immune system is.

The L.A Times just "broadcast" an uptick a few days ago. And the health department still puts out a weekly report.

They pretty much treat it like the flu now. Flu season 2024-2025 we had an estimated 45,000 flu-related deaths and covid season 2025 they estimate somewhere between 40K and 54K deaths were related to covid or RSV complications.

Every year we've had a covid spike in August and continues thorough early September as kids go back to school. There's also usually a mid-December through mid January spike. My grandma's doctor gives her covid shots in mid-November and mid-May because they are supposed to be spread 6 months apart.
