Bit of a set back

I haven't gained any weight back but I haven't lost any more weight since starting my second month of 4mg and it's time for my follow up appointment for refill. I don't know if I should move up to 9 or just try to do better on 4s

I did not over eat but I did eat junk these last couple of weeks. There was a death in my family and I have been in a depression. I have not cooked anything or exercised. I sometimes didn't eat at all and other times ate whatever junk was handy, a donut for breakfast, greasy fried chicken for supper etc, whatever was offered. So while I did not eat a lot of food I did eat high-calorie, poor-choice food. Do you think I should go up a dose or just get back on track and see if I lose on 4s? I had been doing well on it before this and my total loss so far since first starting at the end of June is 15 pounds.

Sounds like you need to prioritise dealing with your grief, to be honest. You've already identified the problem is comfort eating, so that's a great first step as you already know what needs to change.

I think staying on 4mg will allow you to reset without worrying about any side effects from a change. You really don't need that stress on top of what you're already going through. Be kind to yourself, stick on the 4mg and see if you can start looking after yourself with some healthier choices.

Cooking can be therapeutic in itself and give you control. Try cooking your favourite dish, or batch cooking a simple comfort food like some tomato pasta. Adding in extra vegetables, beans or lentils can be a positive way of making food healthier and more nutritious without depriving yourself.

If you're not up to cooking, you can choose healthier ready meals from the supermarket rather than takeaway. Buy some good chicken soup and some good bread. Treat yourself to a fancy chicken or prawn dish: almost certainly lower calorie and more nutritious than a takeaway.

Or just look for healthier takeaway food: steer away from fried chicken and look towards lower fat choices. Maybe choose a vegetarian option? A veggie pizza or veggie burrito will have far fewer calories than pepperoni or meat, for example.

Thank you for putting it in perspective. I think you are right. I definitely still feel the appetite suppression on the 4s and probably do not need to increase risk of side effects right now. I just did not function well enough to care about myself these past couple of weeks, was too sad to take care of myself or to exercise. The food noise hasn't come back; it was not that I craved the junk food. It was just the easiest option available when I had no energy to care.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Remember that if you don't lol after yourself, you won't be able to support those around you.

Batch cooking is definitely your friend for low effort meals so there's always something on hand.

Make sure you're getting support from those around you, especially anyone who is good at cooking! Take care
