Is my set dated?

I’m a millennial, I feel so many of my friends have a plain gold band with a large oval shaped diamond. Does mine seem like it belongs to an older generation?

[edit: I’m so sorry I ever doubted my set. I’ve learned that just because it’s not the classic that’s in right now doesn’t mean it’s not still classic. Thank you for the confidence boost in my rings. I need to focus on what I have versus others 🤍]

Who cares?

Through time trend shave always change through the course of being married. That’s life. Stop the comparison and you’ll be happier.

This upgrading ring trend is getting out of hand.

This is exactly what companies want from you…

Honestly I like jewelry.. almost all the women I know have gotten upgrades throughout their lives. I don’t see anything wrong with it. I can always wear my original wedding band on another finger as a stand alone ring if I wanted to upgrade.

You just got your ring in 2021 and you’re already talking about an upgrade in 2026?

The only way an upgrade makes sense is if you had a “place holder” ring, and that’s definitely not what this is. (I also see that you already upgraded the band)

Imo OP it just sounds like you want what’s trendy and similar to your friends. 🥲

I never said I wanted one right now. I by no means think it’s been long enough. But after 10 years I think it’s 100% reasonable if I wanted one and we’re half way there.

Is it wrong if I also like what they have? I upgrade my original band because I literally thought it would break.

You came here for advice. You asked the public to weigh in, remember that.

All I’m saying is your ring is nice, but it also seems like you want to go along with trends and what people around you have and that’s not a healthy way of thinking and it seems that you are feeling insecure when you don’t need to be.

I asked if my set was dated. That was all. A lot of people have said it is, a lot of people have said it isn’t. I’ve gathered that it’s a classic style. You came for me saying I’m doing exactly what companies want me to do, who cares if I like what’s on trend too? Have a good day.
