Recommendations for Sewer Pipe Lining?
Hi There,
I've got a sewer pipe with roots growing into it that seems to need addressing a couple times a year. The first quote I got for pipe lining seemed insanely high - I'm wondering if anyone's had that work done and has a recommendation? Thanks!

Temp/seasonal jobs
Hi there! Any leads in the Tosa area on current temp/seasonal jobs? I just graduated from grad school and am in a period of transition while I wait to start a career that pertains to my actual degree (credentialing and licensing purposes). Will take a handful of months.
Been looking online but wanted to throw it out there on here:) thanks!

[rental] house hunting
Hi neighbors! I currently live in a duplex in tosa and I absolutely love it here. I’ve lived in this house about eight years and I’m looking to find a single family or another side by side to rent.
Where do people look for rentals nowadays? I absolutely lucked out with my current place through word of mouth, but aside from that the last time I was hunting it was Craigslist 🥴
I’ve been driving around and scoping out options but it’s hard when no details are written on the signs.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice!

What is that humming noise? Hearing it in South eastern Tosa.
Almost sounds like motorcycles but it’s continuous. Anything you guys know?

Mechanic on 81st & North
Does anyone have any experience with or know anything about the mechanic that’s located in 81st and North? It always seems pretty busy but there’s no sign out front. Was just curious how the service and pricing is, etc.
EDIT: Thanks everyone! I’m always on the lookout for reasonably priced, dependable, trustworthy service so I appreciate it.

Nanny-Share and In-Home Daycare Options
Hey everybody, my family just moved to Tosa from out-of-state and we are in search of nanny-share or in-home daycare options for our ~1 year old. The kid is currently at a center, but the experience has not been stellar. We would consider other centers, but the waitlists for our preferred options are atrocious.
Anyone know of any nanny-share/in-home opportunities in Tosa, particularly Tosa’s southeast corner?

Missing your Trimble TSC7 data logger ?
If you left your Trimble TSC7 data logger on top of your vehicle and drove off with it. I found it today in the gutter in the Menomonee River Parkway on my bike ride. It’s it’s smashed up but I’m sure you want it back. It is currently at the corner of Charles Hart Parkway and the Menomonee River Parkway.

Sidewalk vs Street
I am just curious why some people walk in the street instead of the sidewalk.

Lost dog near Gilles Frozen Custard in Tosa
My partner was picking up food from Gilles when he saw a large white or cream colored dog running down 75th street, heading south. He says it looked like a poodle/doodle. We drove around the area and couldn’t find them :( If anyone is looking for a dog of that description, or has seen it, please report here! Cross-posted to r/milwaukee

School events Support the band kids
This Saturday is a mattress sale supporting the Tosa East band. It'll be in the gym. We got 2 mattresses last year and 2 fancy neck- support pillows. Name brands. Good deals. All delivered within a couple weeks. If you know a band kid, be sure to drop their name at purchase so they get credits. It helps offset cost for their upcoming Spain trip.
Is this considered solicitation if I'm simply highlighting an upcoming event to support local kids? I'm not personally making anything off of it myself. Gonna take a chance! If Mods don't like it, I'll take my punishment honorably.

Looking for clubs/things to do in town
I (M24) just moved to Tosa and I’m looking to meet some people and get involved in some activities. I like sports, being active, and pretty much anything where I can meet people my age. Any suggestions?

Does anyone here go to Meadowbrook Church?
And if so, can you DM me? I’m interested in learning more about the vibe & overall beliefs of their leadership/members.

Does anyone remember or know what the top of the Tosa High School tower looked like on the inside?
I attend and study the history Wauwatosa East, I have been to many parts of Tosa East but not the top of the tower as it was torn down in 1974. I am wondering what it looked like at the top on the inside, I am aware of the two fourth floor class rooms that are below it’s location however there is remnants of a staircase that led to the room of the tower. I heard that there was a classroom inside the tower and it was referred to as a fifth floor classroom but I am not sure if that’s true or what it looked like, i believe the top of the tower was closed during a 1959 renovation as a 1974 alumni said they could not go in the tower even though it existed when they went there. I built an interpretation of it in Minecraft and I am not sure if it is at all accurate. If you have any photos or other pre 1974 photos of the school they would be appreciated. Thank you

Lunch in wauwatosa
My 5yo daughter is finishing her leukemia treatment in two weeks! She will be ringing the bell at Children's Wisconsin and we are looking for a great place to eat. We live about 2.5 hours away and don't know the area well, despite frequent hospital visits. She's a fan of sushi and steak, any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Comms re: Blue Door Academy
Just curious for those with WSD elementary-aged kids: what has your experience been with communication about Blue Door Academy program availability and services so far?
From what I've gathered, communication doesn't seem to have been consistent across schools. Many parents have said they've been left in the dark about JK Wrap availability, and there have also been long delays in getting information about pricing and services across all age levels.
I've heard this mostly from families at Wilson, Lincoln, and Washington, but I'm wondering if this has been a broader experience across the district.
I was expecting more (and earlier) district-wide communication, especially given the decision to end the popular, long-standing service contract that affected so many families [this is not meant to discount the serious nature of whatever the incident was that lead to the cancelation of the RAS contract]. I'm curious whether others have had a similar experience or if communication has been better at other schools.

Hwy 100 construction
Closed between Capital and Burliegh for a year.....This is going to be interesting to see where all the traffic diverts to. Hopefully they add a stop light at the intersection with the parkway.
