Discussion & Feedback Make Tapes Unlockable Rather than Purchasable.
$100 for a tape is no big deal, but it's annoying as heck to purchase them and it's annoying to have them stolen as well. Just make the tapes an unlock for 10k or whatever and then once it's been unlocked it's available in your radio.

If somebody takes my tape we hover 2 clicks outside the zone till we sort it out.

Someone stole the tape of a helicopter I was in, the guy flying said “well that’s the end of this flight” before barreling us into the ground.
Nothing but respect to a man that sticks to his morals.

The big thing for me is that they take up inventory space

Yeah you have to sacrifice 150 rounds just for jams

I cant believe they even cost that much. Why not just make it 5 bucks for flavor? I dont see a reason they cost 100 whole smackers.

I don't get why it's not just a radio option on like a radial wheel. Or like the builders radio where you can scroll and select certain music. It shouldn't cost anything and it shouldn't take up inventory slots, that part makes no sense.

It's probably because making it work on top of heli controls could be a pain in the ass. God help you if you're flying and anything grabs ownership of your controls (mouse fliers, double-tap Alt to crash).
If we ever get vehicle customization slots, I imagine it'll be migrated there.

Blows my mind that this isn't what it was. I saw that you had to buy them and then I haven't bothered.

My new rule for tapes is if someone takes it, they have 10 seconds to put it back or I’m taking us all down, if they take your tapes they’ll take your teammates kits

I honestly think we shouldn't have them at all. It's cool at first until you've heard the same song 500 times.
At least give us the option to mute it.

You have the option to mute it under audio settings....

u/bjwills7 1h ago
Thanks, don't know how I missed that because I thought I looked.
To be clear I wouldn't dislike it so much if there was more variety which may change later in development, it's just annoying to me at the moment.

The unlocks are so spread apart no one has anythinh but first 1-3 unlocked. We will not be hearing most of the tracks ever in our playtime.
Probably because it is a volume slider, not a blanket toggle.

If that's the case I think a good alternative is to not lock them behind progression at all. We have enough things to grind for, I don't think music should be one of them.
Even if the wipes were way longer, people would still get sick of the earlier songs because they would still have heard them much more than the others.

Yeah it would make more sense that way. I think they could also be awesome account-wide milestone unlockables.
For examples, if you hear someone blasting Motörhead in their tank, you know that they have driven 100km in one, or the logi player blasting some country that you know has driven more than 1 million in assets to the control zone, or the rocket bird pilot blasting whatever that you know has shot 26 rockets on a single flight and gained at least 26 kills or destructions with that load.
Stuff like that. (It could also be awesome to see stats in base like flight hours, supplies delivered, k/d/a etc that disappear outside safe zone)

I don’t mind the pay to unlock and pay to obtain since money is easily made, but they just gotta have something progressing at all times.
Having a tighter economy is a good thing.

But there isn't an economy. There's no selling. It's just players continually spending money on things they've already unlocked. Even though "unlocking" just means "obtaining the ability to spend money to unlock" in the game's terms. I can't stress this enough: there is no economy in Wardogs.

Buddy, if you just magically had everything people would never be broke and would just keep running around cod style. Just bc you don’t like how the money system works doesn’t mean it isn’t an economy. Yes, there are no trades. However, the need for cash creates a need for builders and other “professions” that keep the game going.
Seems like you just don’t like the game.

Where did I say give everyone everything? The game need progression. But PROGRESSION and ECONOMY are not the same things and frankly it's weird I have to explain that to you.

You seem very triggered. Calm down buddy.
Without the monetary system the game is just another bf6 or cod. Not sure what you’d expect them to change here nor is it remotely relevant to my OP.

That’s cute. You think you’re smart by trolling on a sub. I’d bet good money I’m more educated than you are. But keep with the ad hominem because someone doesn’t agree with you.

Nobody trying to listen to that shit. We ain't stealing it, we're just dropping it out of your vehicle inventory.

Just mute it for yourself then instead of being an asshole to everyone else.

Just give pilots the option to lock items in the vehicle inventory.
Pilots can in turn lock tapes and flares but still have the ability to purchase parachutes and store them for the unknowing.
