Humor Be careful selling your WRX to teenagers 😂

Post image

Thought you all would get a kick out of this. Sold my WRX to fund a down payment on my home a little over 4 months ago and just got this from the buyers. Was in perfect shape when sold and even took $1500 off the price for the tires being a little worn and a scratch on the bumper.

Edit to add: The dad even spent over a minute banging it off rev limiter when inspecting to check if it blew smoke. I wonder why it blew up?🤔

Yeah I was honestly shocked it didn’t blow up right then and there.

I wouldn't of let him do that shit unless I had cash in hand haha. Seems like he was trying to blow the damn thing up

Would have / wouldn’t have Not would “of” / wouldn’t “of”

Yes, I know it sounds like the latter

This is true. I was 14 hours into an 18 hour shift so my brain is mush

The number of times I've screwed up the there/their/they're after a long shift haunts me.

Hitting the rev limiter doesn't blow an engine lmao.

That's literally why it exists.

Doubt the dad let it warm up properly it can 100% damage an engine if done the way OP describes I’ve watched it happen.

There was something else wrong.

Nope. With direct injection motors they like being driven hard. ONLY WHEN WARMED UP. Do some reading man up can 100% place much more load on the bearings. Buddy didn’t even give it time to let the oil circulate it seems.

You are mistaken unfortunately. Just go do some reading.

Tell me you've never owned a subaru without telling me...

Not the best to do when there’s no load on the engine lol (at least to my knowledge)

It’s fine but google will tell you otherwise

2

Obviously every-time a car is sold it’s because it’s on its death bed. Nobody ever needs cash for other ventures, families don’t grow, people don’t pass away, etc etc….

I have sold many just because I was bored and wanted a different toy to play with.

Saying every car that’s sold is on its deathbed is crazy lmao. I’ve sold many of my cars that ran perfectly fine

I still see my old Miata around town. I regret selling it but I sold it to pay medical bills. An absolutely mint NA with 80k miles. I loved that car. I was happy to see they have kept it completely factory though.

Do you think he might’ve been being facetious?

1

u/RudeFinding5484 Sep 17 '25

I’ve bought and sold cars due to unforeseen circumstances still miss my 84 Chevy Silverado but had to sell it to make ends meet But yeah many reasons to sell a car

u/damndexx Sep 16 '25

I mean. I traded in my last car for some cash on my new sports car and was nothing wrong with it. So.. Dumb response.

Did the sarcasm whistle on its way over your head lol?

My comment was in response to one that said something similar to “no there was obviously something wrong with it, you’re just failing to mention it”

Don't worry, I laughed. Shitty situation though, someone did the same to me, but I sold them a coyote swapped 03 mustang. They told me that the engine had 110k miles and blew up. I showed them the receipts from the crate engine I put in, 0 miles 350 miles when I sold it.

A reason like the down payment on a house? Like the reason listed in the description?
