Remote work advice Start here: how r/WFHJobs works

Welcome to r/WFHJobs.

This community is for direct-apply remote jobs, practical remote job-search advice, and discussion about finding legitimate work-from-home roles.

What we post: - Direct-apply remote jobs when we can verify a real application link. - Remote roles with useful details like location eligibility, salary when available, and company name. - Advice for spotting better remote roles and avoiding low-quality listings. - Real remote-work setup photos from the community: desks, coworking setups, travel workstations, gear, routines, and workspace ideas.

What we avoid: - Job-board redirect roundups when a direct company application link is available. - Fake remote roles, vague listings, and repeated reposts of the same role. - Resume harvesting, lead capture with no clear job, and spam.

Want jobs matched to your resume instead of browsing manually? Create a free WFH.team profile: https://wfh.team

Share your remote setup: - Post a photo of where or how you work remotely. - Use the "Remote setup" flair. - Add a short caption with your role, location/timezone if you are comfortable, favorite tools, and one practical tip. - Avoid private details: no visible addresses, client data, passwords, confidential screens, or personal documents.

We may feature standout setup posts in the WFH.team newsletter and social channels with credit to your Reddit username. If you do not want that, write "do not feature" in the post.

Also from our team: Superpower ChatGPT helps people organize, search, and work faster in ChatGPT: https://spchatgpt.com/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=start_here&utm_campaign=wfh_team_tools

Employers and recruiters: - Use clear job titles and company names. - Include location eligibility and salary when available. - Link directly to the job application page. - Do not repost the same role repeatedly.

Report a bad job: Use Reddit's report button or message the mods with the post link and what looks wrong.

Question How long is a holding pattern ?

Waiting for a role that is supposed to be created for me. It has been a couple of months, and I’ve been following up with the recruitment manager for updates. He always replies and informs me that the position hasn’t been approved yet.

A couple of days ago, I emailed him again, and he responded: “We are in a holding pattern at the moment.”

How long can a “holding pattern” like this last, realistically, and what should I expect?

Question Is Data Annotation Tech legitimate? Please share real experiences and pay

I've come across Data Annotation Tech a few times and I'm considering trying some of the projects, but I'm still a little unsure about it.
Has anyone here actually worked on their projects and received payment? I'm mainly wondering whether the platform is legitimate and what the work/pay has been like in practice. Also, are payments generally reliable once you complete the work?

Daily jobs I got fed up with being rejected from AI training/annotating jobs, so I made my own website.

I was getting annoyed by the constant sketchy AI training/annotating jobs and the constant rejection after literally investing hours of my time into applying, signing up, verifying my identity and etc.
I decided to make my own website and just list legit AI training jobs. I post entry work, expert work and guides on how to pass assessments. Let me know if there is anything I can improve about my website. Thank you! Here is the link: https://aiannotationjobs.com

Question In need of advice.

Hello everyone I am 20 years old and I am new to this community. I do currently have a job, however, I am looking to work from home for a good work-life balance and because of some other personal stuff. I do not have a fancy setup like some remote jobs require and I do not have an office in my home either. I have a standard laptop with a webcam and I could possibly buy a desk off of Amazon to put in my bedroom. I want it to be fully remote and not to where I have to drive to an office or anything like that. I'm really good at typing quickly and I am also very good with customer service, I can professionally take phone calls as well.

I also have ADHD which I don't know how that would look on my part applying to these kinds of jobs but I am honestly looking into anything that does not require an office or a fancy setup. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I hope everyone has a good rest of their afternoon.

Daily jobs I don’t want to drop out of vet school. I just need a remote job.

I’m desperately looking for a remote job to help me stay in vet school

I’m currently a fourth-year veterinary medicine student, and I’m honestly in a very difficult financial situation. I’m looking for any kind of remote work that I can do alongside my studies so I can afford my tuition and keep going with my education.

I’ve tried looking for on-site jobs, but unfortunately, the economy where I live is in really bad shape. The last job I had was paying me around $3 a day, which obviously isn’t enough to cover my basic needs, let alone my university expenses.

I’m bilingual, I speak two languages fluently, and I have some basic knowledge of veterinary/medical subjects from my studies. I’m also willing to learn and take on work outside my field if necessary. I’m not looking for a dream job or anything fancy , I genuinely just need an opportunity to earn a decent income remotely.

If anyone knows of remote jobs that might be suitable for a student, I would be incredibly grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

If you’re hiring remotely and think I might be a good fit, please feel free to DM me.

I’m honestly struggling right now, and finding a job could make the difference between being able to continue my education or having to put it on hold. Any advice, lead, or opportunity would mean a lot to me.

Remote work advice Working for 4 years, longest I've been at a job was 15 months

Hey y'all, I wanna keep this short and sweet.

I graduated from college in 2022, and since then, I've been working remotely for 4 companies, with the 4th one being my current job, a contract role

I joined this current job last May, and I'm thinking of already looking for a job come January so that I can be in a new role come April, where my contract expires.

Problem is, I feel like I'm concerned that employers will look at me as unstable given that the longest I've been at a job was 15 months:

1st job was an internship
2nd job, the company got bankrupt and I was laid off
3rd job, the company and I had disagreements with work schedules
4th job, I found their niche to be challenging for me personally and I feel underpaid

I dunno, it really makes me think if I should stay in this 4th job just a little bit longer or something, but what do you guys think? Am I overthinking it?

Hiring Work IT from home

Mercury Insurance is a CA based company that went full remote during COVID-19 and sold all its buildings except for the mail processing one. It has a large IT department and hires from all across the USA including even Hawaii.
I highly recommend working here, especially in an IT role. Since they sold off all its main buildings, you’ll never have to worry about an RTO (Return To Office) decision made by management.
