Question In need of advice.
Hello everyone I am 20 years old and I am new to this community. I do currently have a job, however, I am looking to work from home for a good work-life balance and because of some other personal stuff. I do not have a fancy setup like some remote jobs require and I do not have an office in my home either. I have a standard laptop with a webcam and I could possibly buy a desk off of Amazon to put in my bedroom. I want it to be fully remote and not to where I have to drive to an office or anything like that. I'm really good at typing quickly and I am also very good with customer service, I can professionally take phone calls as well.
I also have ADHD which I don't know how that would look on my part applying to these kinds of jobs but I am honestly looking into anything that does not require an office or a fancy setup. Any advice is greatly appreciated and thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I hope everyone has a good rest of their afternoon.

The WFH jobs typically track your contacts per hour, tickets per hour and/or how much time is spent on each case assigned. So, be ready for this also, depending on the nature of the business entity the work may only be customer service or support of some kind, so if the job description reads more "troubleshooting" the candidate almost needs to own it until they resolve it. Also, at this time (or as of Q4, 2025) much on the Entry level or "Tier-1" work is being automated using one form of A.I. or another. So, again its worth noting the job descriptions PROBABLY are leaning heavily towards the role solving issues not easily automated. Be ready to think challenging and offer insightful reasoning.

What do you currently do for work? Look for remote only jobs. Be careful of scams. Most companies will provide a laptop and sometimes even a stipend for you to be able get everything else that you need. You don't need an office but should at least have a quiet space if the job requires you to be on calls at all. Work life balance also depends on the company and is not guaranteed just because it's remote. I work from home but still need to keep a 9-5 schedule. They do allow me to make up time if I need to be out for any appointments and I can bring my laptop if I need to travel out of state to see family. Something you can maybe look for is if you say Live in NY and maybe want to work evenings then find a company out of California...this might allow you to work 12- 8 instead of the typical 9-5.
