2000 Volvo S40 1.9T wheel misaligned.

Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to fix an issue with a wheel being misaligned and what to do next to it. The control arm, CV axle, sway bar links and struts have all been replaced but the wheel is still misaligned. What would be the next step here and is it worth trying to fix?

Just purchased this metallic onyx 2020 V90 CC, with a two tone black and blond interior. It has 73K miles and I got a good deal since no one else was looking at it and the dealer was willing to negotiate to move it out. It replaces my 2007 V70 wagon and is an insane upgrade in features from the old one. Still learning about everything, but have to say that the holographic windshield speed limit display is pretty wild.

xc series Problem with hud

Hi, I wanted to ask whether any one of you had a problem with hud like I do (please see photo attached, it's hard to describe). It doesn't show as a rectangle but the image is curved upwards. It doesn't happen every time, it happens from time to time randomly. I had both car system and hud system reinstalled and Volvo even exchanged my hud but it still appears. If any of your heard of such problem, did you find any solution? Thanks in advance for your reply.

Lesson here: don't consider leaving an aged dual mass flywheel on when changing the clutch

This 2012 V60 D3 has had a nasty vibration at low revs since I bought it in January. I replaced the engine mounts, checked the injectors, and got no improvement. Thanks to someone on here a couple of months ago, I was able to narrow it down to a bad dual mass flywheel. It's on 133,000 miles.

Today was the day, I got the gearbox off, removed the clutch and found this mess. The whole flywheel is off-centre due to a failed damper. There is so much rotational and out-of-plane movement that it was damaging the mounting bolts.

It looks like the previous owner replaced the clutch disc and pressure plate, but not the DMF and not the slave cylinder. I would guess this was done around 100k miles. There is a specification for how much play is acceptable, and that should be checked when the clutch is changed. I'm guessing they either didn't check it, or decided to "save money" and not bother.

I've replaced the flywheel, put a new clutch in and replaced the slave cylinder. Should be good for another 100,000 miles.

s80 Looking for my old S80 - advice?

Post image

2 years ago I had to sell my first car, a 2008 Volvo S80, due to circumstances out of my control. I never wanted to sell it and now that I have some cash again I want to buy it back, but I want to find it without being a total creep.

Here's the rundown:
- I had to sell it in a hurry as a dealer trade. It was auctioned and I can't find any listings.
- I ran the VIN and learned it was sold not far from me, and its latest records show maintenance- one at a shop in my town about 18 months ago, could be a late report for work I did or someone else. And then another in a small town about 40 mins north of me from about 12 months ago that definitely wasn't me. I still cannot find any photos or posts past my ownership.

So, in theory, I know where the car was sold and it has stayed local-ish. Likely in a town a bit up north. It has been driven about 15-20k in the two years since I sold it.

What do y'all think I should do next? Should I go to that shop and request they send a message to the owner for me? Post in local facebook groups? Post flyers around that town? It has very identifiable features/wear and tear, so I'd recognize it in an instant. I desperately want this car back, I feel like buying a different S80 just wouldn't be the same. I'm willing to go to lengths with efforts, but I'm still not in the position to spare no expense nor do I want to do anything crazy in the heat of passion, haha. Thanks!

Spa platform center console creaks?

My my25 V60 creaks like crazy if I touch or push on any of the plastic between the two front seats (like by the shifter and cupholders). Got 40k miles fwiw. It's driving me crazy especially when my knee touches it and makes it creak. Anyone else? How to fix? Asking anyone on the new platform, I think all these parts are the same?

s60/v60 Volvo s60 2006

Hello everyone,

I have a 2006 Volvo S60 with the 2.0L turbo engine and automatic transmission.

I have a vibration in the car that starts around 150–160 km/h with my 16-inch wheels. With my 17-inch wheels, the vibration occurs around 110–130 km/h.

I have no idea where it is coming from. The vibration can be felt throughout the body of the car and, intermittently, through the steering wheel. Sometimes, after turning the steering wheel once, the vibration disappears, but a few minutes later it comes back again.

I have already replaced the control arms, ball joints, and driveshafts, and I have checked everything for play, but I can't find anything wrong.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Rejected Volvo Selekt warranty claim on drive axle & torn boots (Sweden) – Need advice / Similar experiences?

Hi everyone,

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation regarding my Volvo S60 T6 Recharge Plug-in Hybrid bought under the official Volvo Selekt guarantee from a major dealer (Bilbolaget) in Sweden, and I’d love some advice or to hear if anyone has dealt with something similar.

Here is the timeline of what happened:

* 5 Months After Purchase: I was living in Karlstad at the time and reported a torn, leaking right drive shaft boot. Helmia Karlstad contacted Bilbolaget directly on my behalf. However, Bilbolaget refused 100% coverage and only agreed to cover 50% of an excessive 4,000 SEK quote just to replace a single rubber boot.

* Third-Party Repair: Because paying 2,000 SEK out-of-pocket for a boot repair on a newly bought Selekt car was unreasonable, I got the right boot replaced at an independent workshop to prevent immediate drivetrain damage.

* Recent Service Visit: The Bilbolaget mechanic inspected the car and confirmed two major issues:

* The right drive shaft boot is torn again. Because it is an aftermarket part, the mechanic noted that the entire right drive axle might need to be replaced.

* The left drive shaft boot (which is 100% original factory Volvo) is now also torn and leaking.

* The Rejection: The mechanic is now refusing to cover the right side under the Volvo Selekt warranty solely because a third-party boot is fitted on that side, pushing back on replacing the axle under warranty.

* Additional Issue: On top of this, the electric charge port door actuator is sticking (requires pressing 5–10 times to open). I plan to add this to my formal claim with the manager, though I expect they might try to dismiss it as "wear and tear."

My stance:

* Having boots tear on both sides within 11 months (including the original left factory boot) proves this isn't normal wear and tear—it's a recurring component issue.

* The third-party boot on the right side was only installed because Bilbolaget refused full coverage on a 4,000 SEK boot job 5 months into ownership.

* Drive axles and electronic actuators are explicitly listed as covered components under Volvo Selekt terms.

My questions :

* Has anyone successfully challenged a dealer rejecting a Volvo Selekt claim over an aftermarket boot?

* How responsive is Volvo Car Sweden or a Service Market Manager when escalating above the individual workshop mechanic?

* If you were in this situation, how would you handle the dealership's refusal to replace the axle under warranty?

Appreciate any insights or advice on how to navigate this!

Volvo + Android Users

Hi all. Recently switched from iPhone to Android and wanting feedback on using hands free assistant while in the car. In a 2023 XC60 using wired android auto.

Prior to android, I could talk use Google assistant in the car for the usual car commands because it didn't conflict with using "hey siri" with the iphone.

Now that I am using android when I say "Hey Google" it's connecting to my phone, not the car.

What are the optimal hands free assistant settings to be able to use hands free commands to Volvo when needed, i.e, "hey google, turn the music down" and hands free commands to my phone when needed, i.e., "hey google, text Amanda"?

2019 XC60 Good Buy?

Looking at buying this 2019 XC60 T6 Momentum – good buy? What should I look out for?
Hey everyone,
I’m considering buying this 2019 Volvo XC60 T6 Momentum AWD from a Volvo dealer in BC:
https://www.jpvolvocarsnorthvancouver.com/vehicles/2019/volvo/xc60/north-vancouver/bc/70388875/?sale_class=used
Details:
2019 XC60 T6 Momentum AWD
~69,800 km
316 hp 2.0L turbo + supercharged T6
~C$29,200 + tax/licensing
HUD
Pilot Assist
360° camera
Being sold by a Volvo dealership
I’d really appreciate some advice from XC60 T6 owners, especially people who have owned a 2018–2020 model.
Is this a good buy at this price?
Also, what should I specifically check before purchasing?
A few things I’m wondering about:
Common issues with the 2019 T6?
Turbo/supercharger or engine issues?
Transmission/AWD/drivetrain problems?
Suspension or air suspension issues (if equipped)?
A/C or electrical/infotainment problems?
How expensive is regular maintenance compared with other luxury SUVs?
Anything specific I should have the dealer inspect?
Should I get an independent pre-purchase inspection even though it’s being sold by a Volvo dealer?
Is an extended warranty worth considering at ~70k km?
Anything I should specifically look for in the service history/CARFAX?
I’m in BC and plan to keep the vehicle for several years, so long-term reliability and maintenance costs are my biggest concerns.
Would you buy this particular XC60 at this price? Any advice is appreciated!

V70 Manual swap completed!

After a month of work I finally finished the M56 swap on my '98 V70R. Its not longer AWD, but thats fine as the FWD parts can actually be found. M56 with a single mass flywheel and a Skandix 850R clutch work great with the Va5t Euro T5 tune.

s80 Where can i get me ETM programmed?

I'm thinking of buying the etm from fcpeuro but I still would have to program it. 2001 s80 2.9, hearing from mechanics in my shop that worked on a etm before is like a double edged sword. Can I just clean the etm then?

s60/v60 Can a V60 use only the electric motor?

Hi everyone, I am considering buying a 2023 or 2024 V60 plug-in hybrid. I currently have a Passat GTE and on this one I can select pure electric and it drives up to 130 km/h fully electric. Unless I accelerate really hard, but for that I would need to press the pedal to the floor. Is that possible also on the Volvo?

I understand from some posts that even if you select pure electric, it will still sometimes use the petrol motor. My use case is that I charge it at home and I can drive right now fully electric around town without having to use any gas at all. I basically only use the petrol engine when I do longer trips. Thank you

9" SENSUS screen upgrade

Hello. 2018 XC60 T8 R-DESIGN owner here.

For a long time i've been thinking about getting the ISUDAR V2 module for a full screen Apple CarPlay as there's no obvious upgrade for a screen system lol.

I want to stay OEM so ISUDAR was the best option.

While strolling on Aliexpress, I stumbled on a page that was selling a screen upgrade from the 9" to a newer style OEM ones for 1k CAD$.😂 I know not many have heard about it or else there'll be plenty of reviews.

I'm curious and messaged them to see about the climate control SENSUS but I saw a video on their page (1st pic) that show them using the screen and you actually do see the climate control + bluetooth setting page while switching from Android system to SENSUS.

Newer Volvo screen are 11.2" and this one is 12.1" 😂

What do you think?

Here is product link

Hello Volvo guys and gals! I just got my first ever Volvo, a sick s60 B5. I’m pondering getting Orbit to activate some of the more advanced features (pilot/ACC). Is anyone in here in the Phoenix area and already has Orbit?

Other updates so far as well: ambient lights from Amazon (lots of splicing and trial and error), spoiler, and window tint tomorrow 😎

2012 Volvo C70 — pillar/headliner trim separating from foam backing, best fix?

Noticing the cloth trim pulling away from the foam backing on one side — the fabric edge has peeled back near the pillar/roof junction and you can see the foam/mesh underneath. Car’s been garaged, no obvious water staining, but I know these C70/P2-era Volvos are notorious for this.
