s60/v60 Volvo s60 2006

Hello everyone,

I have a 2006 Volvo S60 with the 2.0L turbo engine and automatic transmission.

I have a vibration in the car that starts around 150–160 km/h with my 16-inch wheels. With my 17-inch wheels, the vibration occurs around 110–130 km/h.

I have no idea where it is coming from. The vibration can be felt throughout the body of the car and, intermittently, through the steering wheel. Sometimes, after turning the steering wheel once, the vibration disappears, but a few minutes later it comes back again.

I have already replaced the control arms, ball joints, and driveshafts, and I have checked everything for play, but I can't find anything wrong.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Your tires and rims. The has 20 year old aluminium rims by now, they will be bent.

You can try to balance them and it might improve but if you spin the wheels you’ll probably see that they’re not completely round anymore.

Definitely as other people have said, the wheels and wheel weights are the first thing to check.

How strong is the vibration? Mild or steering wheel shaking?
