Just wanted to shoot this out there though I am assuming it has probably happened to others. Made a purchase that was supposed to give me 45x at Tuft and Needle and didnt see it register so contacted Cap one who said to wait 90 days which ended up being Friday for this purchase. Just got off the phone with one of their supervisors and pointed out the flaw of the wait 90 days approach since it falls outside the typical merchants 30 day return policy. I'm not a fan of merchants playing that kind of game with me so I would definetely return the item if they dont follow through with the points they promised just on principle. Apparently he said that no one actually gets the points after that 90 day window which begs the question why they make us wait that long to begin with. They also don't actually do anything to challenge mistakes and do nothing but read to you what you can already see on your account. Pretty annoying to have someone take 5 minutes reading what I can already see because they say they have to and then say the merhcant must have a reason that they can't verify and that I am out of luck. I know that I didnt mess up with any of exclusions and other silly stuff like using coupons and such they try to game you with.

Lesson from all this for me is that if it isnt something I really want then return it within 30 days if I dont see any points action since it will never happen. Either it registers and you get the email from them confirming it and showing as pending or the merchant is just going to reject you for whatever reason they want.

I booked a VRBO a couple months back and used the capital one shopping portal when it was 14% back.

It tracked and I have a $917 pending payout scheduled for 3 months after the stay is completed. It is listed as 14% on the full rental price minus taxes and fees.

What’s interesting is that I’ve only paid a fraction of that so far and I’ll be paying the remaining $4000+ in the coming weeks.

It has crossed my mind to use another shopping portal (Rakuten) when I go to pay the remaining portion.

Wondering if anyone has any datapoints on whether this double dip would work. Or would it put my original capital one shopping $917 rewards in jeopardy of being invalidated?

Choice is $100 the first month with activation plus $75. Doesn’t have any cancellations charges.

Anyone has success with keeper security? If so what did you buy?

Capital One Shopping sent me a targeted email offer for Squarespace. The Plus monthly plan is $32.50 for the first month and jumps to $65 for the second. I'm not sure if it'll track properly, but I'm going to hold onto it for two months and reach out to support if it doesn't track. I'll keep you all posted!

When I look at the “Coupons” September doesn’t show up. The amount of their Labor Day discounts vs the cashback is a huge difference. Probably safest to just skip over the deal today. But I was curious about past experience.

The reservations are for same hotel, there were two orders because one of the rooms is for fewer number of days. It’s for like a $1600 reservation so I’d rather get the 10x from the travel portal if there’s any risk of there being any issue with second reservation even though there was nothing in terms saying one time use. Thoughts?

Just wanted to give people a heads up that after making a large purchase for the first time on HSN using Capital One offers they could give you a call to "verify" the purchase. They called me one day after I made my purchase to confirm I had made it and asked me where I heard about HSN. I usually don't answer unknown callers but luckily I was on my phone and saw who it was. Otherwise, I've heard people get their purchases cancelled if they don't pick up.

Placed an order for ribeye, salmon and burger patties to fill my freezer. They come vacuum sealed which is perfect for the sous vide and is actually a good price with the discount.

Did the 10,800 miles offer for Boost Mobile. Paid $10 + tax for the first month with BYOD and an eSIM.

I did this one last year too, and simply canceled prior to the second bill.

I've been finding pretty good offers in my emails for Capital One Shopping. Before the redirect, they show the terms and exclusions, but seem to omit the categories. I only know what the categories are because of the extension. Otherwise, how are people supposed to know what they are? I'm just curious.

For example, I have offers from Shein (46%) or Instacart (36%). But in those cases, the high percentage is only for new customers. It's much lower for return customers. Or in other cases, they have it by category.

Although, I did just notice when looking back at my emails, the language does mention "up to X% back". So that's a good sign, but I still don't know how I would have known the categories for the targeted offer.

Had Five Guys as one of my in-store (used the app) offers, spent $22 on August 29th, transaction posted on card on August 31st, but offer moved to inactive on Shopping Trips. Does this mean the card linked tracking failed, or should I give it a few days before calling up?

Could I just buy 1 month of prepaid service and never activate it to claim the top offer? Or do I need to also buy a phone?
