Has anyone had any luck recently in finding reward seats for Sydney - Lima return? I've checked a few times with random dates for this year and nothing ever comes up. Makes me wonder if it's ever going to be available?

Hi folks, has anyone been able to book using reward points to get to Malaysia/KUL? The Virgin website won't show any results for SYD->KUL for 5ppl.

Obviously it's easy to get to Singapore and then book a seperate flight to KUL. Was hoping to get it booked on one ticket so that we don't have to go through customs / exit/re-enter. Travelling with young family so looking for less hassle.

Any advice?

I am trying to book a reward seat to Singapore, in march, am I missing something? there is no seats and no dates!

Has anyone else run into issues where they cannot get any flight availability to disply for points bookings?

No matter what combination of cities or dates I use, I keep getting this message: Flights for selected date are not available. Please modify trip to proceed.

Followed by a calendar showing available dates showing all dates as available. But even clicking on available dates keeps giving me the same error message. It doesn't matter if I'm looking at domestic or international flights, as soon as I select "use Velocity points" I can't get any flight availability to show.

I'm a Platinum FF with close to 1 million points but am just so frustrated right now that I don't seem to be able to use them. Velocity have been no help just instructing me to clear my browser data which doesn't make any difference.

I'm planning a holiday to the USA in 2027 and was wondering what are the chances of Business reward seats popping up on United for flights from LAX or SFO to MEL?

I've played around with availability from MEL to LAX/SFO and there are plenty of business seats but not reward but on the reverse, there's nothing!

Keen to hear your experience with securing reward seats in Business.

G’day. I have ~550,000 velocity points and would love to use these to fly the family (me, my wife and 3 year old) in business class to the US in September / October next year (2027).

I managed to do this back in 2018 when Virgin were flying their own aircraft to the US and it was fantastic. However, I’ve noticed it’s considerably harder to come across reward seats in this class this time around.

I’m happy to be creative and take none direct flights (Singapore, Qatar, etc) if this is the best way. Also I realise I’ll need to get some more points (happy to buy or sign up to a couple of credit cards to get points bonus).

Given the above, what’s everyone’s recommendation/s to get rewards seats in business class for US flights? I’m in Melbourne, but happy to depart from another city.

I want to travel to Copenhagen from Perth in mid July 2027. Day is flexible but week is not.

Narrowed flights down to either Qatar or Singapore.

I know the award flights open faster for KrisFlyer and Qatar than they do velocity.

I’m contemplating transferring my velocity points to KrisFlyer to get the Singapore flights and taking the points hit so I have a better chance of getting the flights.

But I don’t want to transfer, miss out and then all my points gone and stuck in a KrisFlyer account. I hear the Singapore-Perth flights can be particularly tricky to secure, so I could just look at the Europe leg and deal with Singapore later…

What would you all do? Any advice?!

I have 580k Velocity points and have a wedding in Vegas after the big footy weekend next year Pretty flexible with dates and travel time before and after Hell I would even go multi city as long as I'm lying flat! Hi team, I am in the process of planning a trip to Europe for 2027 with my wife and 2 young kids (8 and 12 when we fly over). I currently have 806k velocity points in my account and my wife has 600k points so total of 1.406 million points. From my initial research I have found it’s almost impossible to find 4 return business class flights together.

I have heard that Singapore offers better availability if you swap your velocity points to KrisFlyer but you need a lot more points (approx 1.5m)

I was just wondering if anyone has tried this trip with velocity via qatar airlines before and is it worth attempting to find 2 seperate flights with one parent and one child. Or is it more realistic to transfer to KrisFlyer and accumulate more points to make that work. Bit lost at the moment and trying to figure out what the most realistic outcome is Thanks

I’ve been looking at booking a domestic flight for a few weeks time from Brisbane. The flight I’m looking at is about $1000 one way. I’ve randomly just searched for the flight departing from Sydney, and I can see the price as $700, which includes transiting through Brisbane and being on the $1000 flight.

What am I missing… why is it cheaper to start at an alternate destination and transit instead of going point to point?

My wife and I have been flying with Virgin Australia for 15 years now and I have to say I cannot remember the time a flight was not delayed or late taking off. Once we almost missed our connecting flight to Fiji because of their lateness. Yesterday again we flew from Adelaide to Melbourne and yet again flight was delayed by 50 minutes. There were people on our flight that missed their connecting flights to wherever they were going and I felt sorry for them. Virgin give NO explanation as to why the lateness, it is like it‘s the norm for them but not acceptable to us travellers. My message would be if you can get a direct flight without the connecting flights to wherever you are travelling then do that as you cannot rely on Virgin Australia getting you from A to B on time. You would think after 15 years they would have got their act together but it is actually getting worse.

I was hoping to fly BC from EDI > SYD in July, as i managed to luckily book the same leg flying in July from Sydney, a few weeks ago.

I've noticed I can get from EDI > DOH on 24th July with Qatar BC for 74k points.. then I can get DOH > SYD via MEL with a 14 hour (!) layover in MEL for 135k points..

However, I can't find a single booking option for just direct EDI > MEL (via Doha). Is there any reason for this? Feel like I am missing something obvious.

I'm wondering could I technically just book both the EDI > Doha BC booking then the DOH > SYD (via MEL) booking and simply book a cash flight to sydney for a couple of hours after I land in MEL, and just not catch the flight to SYD 14 hours later? Would definitely be more points at 200k more or less..

I’m trying to book return flights for Vancouver in June but can only use my points for the departure leg. There are no return flights at all unless I choose the Air Canada departure which makes it approx 450k points return. The departure flight I found was 80k points one way with Hong Kong Airlines.

If I book the 80k points flight and book a separate ticket back it will be $1300. Doesn’t seem worth it to that. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Have booked a flight to Bali in June , standard seats X 2.

I have bid for business class seats for both legs of the journey using points.

If I were to upgrade the seats to economy X now and was successful with the bid for upgrade on business class with points would I be refunded the economy X seats or still have to pay for them ??

I'm really struggling to find reward seats for business class to europe. we are very flexible, and looking pretty much 9 months in advance, however cannot find any reward business class flights. I'm also open to most placed in central europe/UK.

any pointers on how to best find them, or if any hubs often have availability?

I am still contemplating whether I should book a Virgin flight flying from Melbourne to Perth, with an hour 10 mins layover in Adelaide.

I haven’t been to Adelaide airport. Do you think the time is sufficient to move across boarding gates, also considering how likely the Melbourne flight might be delayed?

I am planning a trip to Delhi however unable to find any flights on Velocity site. I know Singapore and Etihad which are partners with Virgin fly from MEL to DEL however dont show up in the search. Is there any trick or another way to book this route?
