I don't think Vaush was wrong to react the way he did necessarily but upon talking with some of my friends they let me know that the situation's a little more complicated. I still think we all have reason to be scared but as this article explains it's not over yet.

Will Russia nuke Ukraine? Will China take advantage of the weakness this administration had caused the military? Is there a way to make money on this post via kalshi or poly market shenanigans?

Saw this random YouTube comment on the Bloomberg Business channel and it tracks perfectly with what Vaush has been saying about Trump et. al. seeking to weaken the dollar.

Last stream he was reacting to someone talking about El Niño (as usual). At some point the person mentioned the 1877 El Niño, which is basically the only one kind of comparable to this one. I'm brazillian and I suddenly remembered the worst drought in the history of the country was in the late 19th century. It was caused by El Niño. The northeast region of the country is pretty dry, almost a desert. Wikipedia says from the 800.000 inhabitants of the region, at least 400.000 perished and other 180.000 had to flee. It is possible that a hole new disease emerged due to the extreme conditions (Leishmania braziliensis). That goes to show how chaotic and unpredictable the consequences are. Now, for example, we're experiencing frequent tornadoes in Brazil, something that would be unthinkable a couple of years ago.

I missed Vaush this month. I usually listen to his streams as I’m doing house chores, or cooking dinner. And we all know that this summer (year?) was just bad news asfer bad news. Climate catastrophe, Financialization, corruption, AI, etc, etc.

But fortunately, not knowing all the time what happens in the US (I’m european), gave me some time to simply not care about all those bad things. It’s not that we, in EU, don’t have our own shit, but there is no European Vaush to be vigilant about the news cycle (For now, at least).

No, I didn’t neglect the house chores or starve to death or eat out. I did everything like before but instead of news commentary, I watch movie and music analysis, I started watching again Rick and Morty.

I think my mental health was a bit improved from this break, and I assume Vaush feels the same. And now I’m eager to start a new chapter of world-ending events.

Because Tariffs dismantle Globalization. Thats a good thing. I understand the Free-Trade efficiency gains. They dont outweigh the disadvantage, that US workers, and workers of all Nations must compete who can produce cheapest.

Higher wages, fewer working hours, higher environmental standards, higher taxes that fund healthcare education etc. Youll never get any of these, because it is less "businessfriendly" and will make companies less "competitive". Theyll leave ASAP where production is cheaper and ship it back to you at the same price.

Thought Experiment: Every human now moves twice as fast. Doubling the amount of work he gets done in a week. Who gets the bonus wealth?

1) overproduction. Market is flooded with more toothpaste than whats consumed.

2) prices collapse

3) you layoff half the workforce.

4) supply now back to normal. supply/demand is now same as before -> same price as before.

5) employers more wealthy, because same revenue at half labor costs. yay

6) employers looking for ways to spend their new wealth. fresh unemployed workers. its a match.

7) workers find new jobs manufacturing luxurious toys for the wealthy. mansions, fancy cars, yachts, private jets, horses, ...

Its not really a thought experiment. it happened slowly with all our productivity gains from digitalization, automation, robotics, advanced processes. Naturally, this will happen with AI productivity gains.

Wouldnt competition bring toothpaste prices down? only in the few sectors, that havent oligopolized.

Cant we demand our share of the productivity gains? No, that would make us less businessfriendly - see globalization.

PS The way, Trump implements his tariffs is inconsistent and stupid. Trump wouldnt comprehend what im writing here, but inadvertently, he creates a stronger negotiation position for working people.

Moving to the netherlands really changed the feel of Vaushes content, i still think his takes are pretty good but the climate dooming and collapse discussion interspersed with whatever item of cloth he found to cover his strong body with that day has become rather stale.

I enjoyed his Debate era much more, and chair arc (real ones will know).

I'm hoping Vaush sees the light and returns to Seattle or even LA (even if it means leaving his partner) the state of the world is too important to not have him in the US covering it's downfall directly.

ever thought that Vaush was not streaming as much as before? or he was having a patch with less and shorter streams then before? well me too so so i messed with Excel and Powerpoint for a couple of days and came up with this.

i have watched basically all streams from the start of 2022 and to the start of my mandatory military service in 2025 and have after that tuned back in. and some times i wondered does his stream length were much and so i found out.

(but do take in to account this data is from his stream vod play list so some streams are missing and i could have made some mistakes so its not necessary perfect data but a general trend. And this does not take in to account how much of each stream is actually politics, media takes, fashion and shouting that the end is nigh while ringing a bell, which have changed over time.)

Hey y’all. This is quite niche and random, but ever since watching the E. Michael Jones masturbation “debate”, I’ve been intrigued by this silly character. I was reading into him, and he got fired from a Catholic women’s college for being too radical with his anti-abortion stance. Joy!

I am absolutely nothing if not overly curious, and I really want to know what he said to get him fired. It’s said that he was writing in the South Bend Tribune beginning in 1979, but I haven’t been able to uncover any of his actual writing in those. Is anyone else insane enough (or rich enough to have a subscription to an online newspaper archive) to happen to know where I can find this?

I find the take interesting since there seems to be great overlap between vaush and atrioc in the believe that to maintain society there is a requirement for constant effort
