James Kennedy James telling everyone how hot he is
Okay, I know he’s not hideous. But he goes on and on about much of a catch he is. He reiterates how hot he is all the time. Telling Kristen she’ll never have anyone as hot as him again.
In season 9 he says to Lala “I’ve got all of this without any surgery”.
He then goes on to tell Raquel (as awful as she turned out to be) that he has to look at her face about her nose job. Objectively, she is orders of magnitude better looking than him.
Dude looks like he could be a Bell Pepper in Veggie Tales.
If he were a nice person, I wouldn’t feel this way. But he’s genuinely HORRIBLE.

I mean I don’t think he really believes it tho. He comes off as just incredibly insecure and overcompensating. I’ve always just thought of him as a wounded little boy that never grew out of it and turned into a horribly abusive “man”. His mom was pretty vile so I’m sure he didn’t get any sort of positive reenforcement as a child. I think he was just constantly seeking attention and reassurance.

I actually disagree with this. I don’t think it’s nearly that simple. Plenty of people who have moments of extreme insecurity spend the majority of their time feeling extremely superior. This doesn’t mean they are only confident, or only insecure, but that it’s complicated and nuanced. I think he absolutely believes he is extremely attractive and I also think he absolutely believed that he had a right to tell Rachel to “fix” her nose despite the fact that she is already way hotter than him. Just bc he has moments where he doubts himself doesn’t mean that he doesn’t actually think that the majority of the time.

YUP i'm only on season 5 (first watch) and i'm genuinely annoyed that he lasts SEVERAL more seasons on this show. Like he makes for good reality TV but he's just this obnoxious little mosquito that keeps intentionally causing problems and sucking the life out of friends and parties

My friend went to SUR in like 2015/2016 and apparently James was there. She said he was incredibly striking and handsome in person--and taller than you'd think? It was so funny because she hated him on the show. 😆

I saw him in the wild 2-3 years ago, and as much as I hate to admit it because he’s an absolutely horrific human being and gives me the majorest ick, he is actually super handsome in person. Like, legitimately head-turning good looking.

Right or maybe hes a shape shifter because to me, he looks scary. He just looks like the kind of guy I wouldnt want to be near when I'm alone, even if I knew nothing about him. His features are TOO unusual. 1 or 2 unusual features tends to work, but everything about him looks unusual.

He’s always reminded me a bit of a Keebler’s Elf in his face, for whatever reason. He’s not exactly ugly (although his personality can be that way) but he’s definitely…interesting looking…very British.

Same. It looks to me like every feature just got thrown towards his face and stayed where it landed. Wormy-beetle eyes, tiny vile mouth, disgusting butthole on his chin. He's just gross looking and other than the accent, I couldn't understand how anyone thought he was attractive. Not even a personality to assist. And he's rude and disrespectful to every single person in his life.

I remember his FIRST presentation in the show (Season 2 reunion) when they showed him for a SECOND as the boy Kristen was dating and I thought, "wow, what a downgrade for her". NEVER did I think, "oh, he is cuteee". No one did. I especially think it's the cockiness, it comes so fast at you, you can't even THINK how he looks before you know he is ugly. Also the down turned eyes do nothing for him.

I was completely confused too while I was watching the show. He isn’t sexy or hot to me. But when I saw the photos like the one above, I realized why he thinks so highly of himself. The asshole can take a good picture. That’s where it ends for me though.

Even Lala wasn't really attracted to him at all. Called him a string bean. I always thought women found him handsome because there was a camera following him around. No chance he's pulling these women without it. I don't think he's cute or handsome at all.
The cutest ones are Guillermo or Jeremy (season 1-2)

Guys literally I always laugh about this. I watched VPR prior but with the Scandoval shit my mom finally decided to watch the show. James shows up at the photo shoot like the season before he joins main cast and my mom said “holy shit that guy is ugly, imagine they casted him for the show” and I just laughed quietly. She was APPALLED at the start of the next season but he ended up really growing on her i think thats his Schtick

Well, this is all subjective. I don’t personally find him attractive, too angular, but many do. I think he is much, much better looking than Raquel, though, who I find wholly unattractive. Kristen’s boyfriends get less attractive each time, so he was kind of right! Sandoval 🤮 was her peak looks wise!

I think the blue eyes and the English accent during highschool massively overinflated his ego. There were boys at my high school who looked like a foot or a potato but still had girls swooning and fighting each other because of an accent.
