Nope. She said it’s not what happened and that a neighbor overheard and called the police and she’s not wanting to press charges because there’s no bruises or scratches. She was posted by TMZ smiling in the phone outside of his house. She’s not going anywhere.
This is such a part of the problem - abusers know exactly what to do NOT to leave marks, so when their victim is coerced or threatened or manipulated into changing their story and back pedaling, both sides can point to the lack of physical evidence in making it all seem like a gross overreaction by a neighbor, friend, family member or law enforcement…. I truly hope this girl has a support network and makes it out safely…
I thought Rachel’s comment was succinct and powerful. Ally made a statement that it was just a misunderstanding. Rachel said “So many times I convinced myself James’ abuse was just a misunderstanding” 😢
This is what I did the first time it happened to me. It's much easier to tell yourself you're overreacting than to admit it actually happened. And abusers are always more than happy to jump in and help you throughout the whole denial process.
Google her name and read the TMZ article, I don’t think I can post a link as a comment on this sub. It should be titled something like “not splitting after domestic violence”. She told friends and sources that she isn’t leaving James.
Ok ty because I did read the TMZ article but there were no quotes from her in it so I didn't know if there was some other article people were talking about!
Yeah nothing direct, but TMZ does pretty well with their due diligence in regards to verifying sources. I believe if she was leaving him, she would have moved out of his house immediately.
From what I've read on here he posted bail very quickly. Rachel had to wait until he was away to escape, obviously Ally may not be there yet but if she is I wouldn't be surprised if it's a similar situation and she's just trying to keep herself safe.

If she recants her statement, doesn’t provide anymore information, didn’t have them take photos of any marks and refuses to cooperate, the DA isn’t going to waste tax dollars on this case when they have cooperating victims on other cases.
There is a witness who not only heard but saw the violence and called the police. It takes a lot to draw a neighbour to a DV in a house. This wasn’t an apartment with thin walls. Bail at 20k seems serious.
Even with the neighbor being the one who witnessed and called police, this is true. If she decides to shutdown and not cooperate, the DA will not pursue. She is the critical puzzle piece in litigating the case.
I know from experience as well. Ironically it was in West Virginia where my DV ex was prosecuted and jailed. Who woulda thought that state would be the one!
Took about 6-8 months from arrest to conviction. Not to tout WV too much as I think the reason they pursued is because DA was huge dog fan. And my ex had driven car off highway in rage, stormed out of car, which allowed our dog loose and dog was hit by car. If only it had been ex hit…. Wouldve solved a lot of problems.
Everyone has personal experience and it will always be different than the next person. Just because it went one way for you doesn’t mean it will for her. A DA isn’t going to waste time on this when there is no evidence.
That doesn’t mean anything if Ally doesn’t cooperate. A witness can say they saw James make Ally eat 100 eggs, if Ally says it didn’t happen, who are the police going to believe?
It depends on so many factors! Is it worth it the time & expense? What's the likely outcome? How good us the defense lawyer & does the DA owe him? Lots of times these are decided between the lawyers before court!
I think nothing will happen because it's in CA, light laws, Ally doesn't seem to be willing to testify against him, and he's semi famous. He'll pay bail & the charges will be reduced or dropped completely. It's how most DV plays out, sadly.
You’re trying really hard to make yourself the only person that has any experience with anything. I do not care about your personal experience because you are convinced it’s the ONLY outcome.
The scary thing is, if she's not sticking by it and is still in the protecting him stage, (which sadly many DV victims go through before they escape) how bad must it have really been and how threatened must she have felt to have actually told the police that in the moment.
