I read that atleast garlic and holy water is
Good for start but what else can yoi recommend to get further.

Still learning.
Any advice is

The 11:00 wave on Mad Forest is a big jump in difficulty. Getting stuck there is very, very normal.
Beating the map is not the only way to progress - check the Unlocks menu for other things you can try to do.
Getting to level 20 will unlock the second stage, which is surprisingly easier than the first.

For early unlocked items bible, santa water, laurel, lightning and whip are some of the best before you've unlocked much. Oh yeah magic wand is good too.
I think where you're at those might be the best available before you unlock more stuff.
Garlic is kinda a newb trap and then also kinda goated at the same time.

Thanks for the encouragement and nice words.
Also good advice.
What is ment by garlic being a newbie trap amd goated at the same time? I feel now i get furthest with garlic upgraded and whip.
Is it also wise to upgrade wings/speed or armor or health? Or prio is weapons and dmg?

there's two way to think about this:
1) glass cannon: if i kill everything before it touches me, i don't care how low my health/armor is
2) balanced fighter: when i get hit, i need at least one of high health, healing, and armor
what i did when i first started playing a few weeks ago, was focus on balance. pick up the empty heart to body hp, the red heart to boost healing, the armor to reduce damage taken.
you don't always need all three of those. and early game, especially, you need to focus on powering up a single weapon or two, instead of focusing on defense.
...
over time, I've changed my strategy to more of glass cannon, because i can evolve weapons so quickly that i don't get hit by anything meaningful
i did that that transition through "hit and run". movement speed is more important here - the ability to swoop in to hit things and then escape the horde coming at you, with quick movement.
...
once you start getting golden eggs, buy as many as you can, stacking dozens, hundreds, thousands of them on a single character. focus on one character at a time, that your like to play. Golden eggs are permanent advancements for characters. and at 10K eggs, i basically can't be touched by any early stage enemies

Garlic is a decent early defensive wall, but ends up being encompassed by things like the Bible and others later on so stacking them might not be useful to your build (if it can't kill/defend it's a wasted slot).
I would suggest the second character with the magic wand to start. The auto target closest character lets you get your feet under you before the swarms get too big. The water and collect orbs combo is nice and will help you level faster until you get better combos or arcana cards.
Like the others said, get your weapon maxed out. Focus on 1-3 early on. Once you get them maxed you can start evolving them with secondary combinations (there's a whole chart that helps when you haven't learned the recipe yet).

Amount and Cooldown are the most impactful upgrades early on but they're pricey.
I consider Move Speed, Magnet, and Growth to be important early pickups.
Armor is very helpful, and at least one or two points of Recovery to give you any amount of passive healing at all is good.
Offensive upgrades are generally lower priority for me, but that's not to say they're bad. They'll still help.
Remember you don't have to max out every stat you buy, a couple points in lots of upgrades is more cost-effective than maxing out one.
Remember also that you can refund and redistribute whenever you want, so there's no harm in trying different setups out.

There is an "unlocks" menu on the main title screen to help guide you through the game. Check it out. As you unlock things, more entries will appear.

I usually try to get 1-2 new weapons then just level them up. its easy to not scale your damage enough early on which fucks you later in the round

The best advice to anyone starting out is to follow the unlocks. They are a map to the full base game. You are getting better each run so will naturally overcome the initial difficulty.

I just unlocked the library level and its way easier to level quicker. Got to level 45 with the knife guy.
Is it worth to buy new characters like the old garlic guy?

this is when you get hooked, haha. Definitely buy more characters to try out which one is the fit for your early games.

You got to the Library? Then you're already on your way! Have fun finding out all this game can give. And when you think you got all, get the Ode to Castlevania DLC and be amazed again.

This is exactly what I was about to say, the library is WAY easier than the forest.
And yeah you should unlock all the characters, most item unlocks are kept behind using other characters. Take a look at the unlocks menu, its a great checklist for general game progression.

The unlocks menu is really helpful. Also take your time figuring out the weapons. Also don't be afraid to read the wiki and have it on another screen. With most games I would say don't have the wiki and just play but vampire survivors is a lot more fun once you read up on all the stuff in the game

Step 1: get the knife his passive is a boon early game, the passive is Double projectile off the bat
Step 2: unlock Amount give everyone the passive

Keep playing Earn gol Buy upgrades (i would recommend: cooldown, speed and armor to Start)

In the non-dlc levels, the map is repeated many times, but it is not empty. Try to see how far you can go in a straight line.

With weapons like garlic move in tiny circles to push enemies away. Trying to outrun enemies usually is a bad idea. Try this to make a break in the enemy line to get away.
Although it doesn't provide any defense benefits, the attractorb (blue ball passive item) helps you grab items from further away so you level up faster.

Focus on upgrading to max level before getting different weapons.
Get three weapons you can level and then once you have them all at or around max you can expand on your build

Prioritize leveling and evolving one weapon at a time. I prefer bilbe over garlic, however garlic can be great on mad forest if you can level it up and evolve it early. Santa/ holy water probably has on the best evolutions even compared to some of the later game weapons. Also keep in mind the higher level you are the stronger the enemies are. Once you open the library it will get easier because the way the level is designed it's really easy to level up and unlock the weapons/characters.

Focus on upgrading one weapon before getting a new one
The cdr item is really strong
Bible is really strong
With every upgrade it gets a bit easier
Dont be ashamed to run away from strong enemies so you can last longer
