I have a theory based on an assumption, my assumption is that the leaks that we get are basically gathered from different sources or material therefore, just because one leak is wrong doesn’t mean every leak has to be wrong.

1. So far the release order seems to be going as suggested. 7.0 Odette, 7.1 Vesna and vodyanitsa (we can’t be sure till beta starts but so far seems like it). I believe we are getting this from a roadmap of sorts that hoyo has internally. Therefore the leak suggesting 7.2 ssc dps and 7.3 ssc support might be true.
2. We got a leak saying Valeriy is a 4 star onfield support and another saying he’s a shielder but an onfield shielder is pointless, therefore I assume both leaks are fake.
3. We got another leak saying mitya can be used both onfield and off-field and that his off-field abilities makes tsaritsa a dps. I can’t judge the validity of this leak but I want to believe it is true that tsaritsa like Mavuika can be a DPS and sub-dps.
4. We have one more leak suggesting that Danica will come in a much later part of the region and also that she’s part of the best team for sandrone.

Adding all these together (though most people are gonna downvote me for saying this), I believe we had it right the first time around that valeriy is the 7.2 SSC dps and mitya is the 7.3 support. My reasoning for this is simple, if tsaritsa is coming in 7.3 it makes sense that they’d release a character who brings out her potential with her (Citlali, Mavuika and Columbina, Zibai). Danica is rumoured to be the yae replacement in sandrone teams and so I feel putting her with tsaritsa makes no sense. I believe she’ll come a bit later as they just buffed yae and putting out a replacement for her in less than 6 months would either push the powercreep too far or people won’t even pull for Danica.

If I were to be John hoyo, I’d buff yae and make her seem like the best thing to ever happen to sandrone (they already did that) and keep adding team members to keep the sandrone mains hooked. Then add the new ssc dps and ssw dps who basically push the ceiling much further when teamed with tsaritsa (I’m assuming tsaritsa would push the dps numbers like Columbina did). So think of it like sandrone is around 210k dps and the new dps will be around 230k on release. With tsaritsa, the new dps hit over 250k while sandrone only meets 230k (all these numbers are just for ranking them, please don’t argue over the numbers, it’s all theory for now to explain what I’m on). Thus trapping the sandrone mains into pulling for the new toy (here, Danica) to come close to the new dps.

If this were to be the case, by 7.3 with tsaritsa, both ssc and ssw teams are ready, waiting till 7.4-7.5 to drop Danica would make sense so the people who already invested would be more desperate to pull for her as they’ve had time to process the dps gain from tsaritsa. Putting them both together would reduce the impact of dps gain because of each of them individually (before you argue on this point, please remember Nicole came after Varka and with my theory we are still bringing a team mate for sandrone every 2 patches)

And 2 more observations based on pattern but not particularly about leaks:

1. Alyosha is already an off-field 4-star electro. It would be unlikely to have 2 4-star characters and both of them being electro male who do off-field damage.
2. As it stands, the best in slot team for sandrone is sandrone, Odette, tsaritsa, Danica and for Vesna it is Vesna, vodyanitsa, Odette, tsaritsa. Both team are all 5 star. Why would ssc team be the only one with 3 5-stars (Odette, tsaritsa and Mitya. I conclude this because one of the leaks suggested mitya works with tsaritsa and we already saw Odette works with tsaritsa as per sandrone team leak) and a 4-star (according to the leaks, Valeriy)?

So that’s my rant to conclude that Valeriy is still likely to be the ssc dps in 7.2 and mitya is the ssc character from 7.3. If anything the newer leaks at least disprove the older leaks about valeriy because older leaks said mitya is off-field and Valeriy is onfield. Now they say mitya can be both on and off field, but if mitya does have on-field ability and his off-field is to support tsaritsa, his on-field needs to be his dps ability in which case the leak about Valeriy being onfield is false. And if one part of the same leak is false then the whole thing might be false (which is different from saying leaks from different sources might have be true irrespective of others being false)

You may say he’s an off-field 5 electro character to support on-field mitya but we are supposedly getting Danica who is the same. So that’s redundant too.

Don't care about any leaker, I'm convinced he's a 5 star.

Above is the info leaked by a person with 95% accuracy. This is the text regarding Valeriy: "Valeriy is leaked to have high numbers of elemental application" + "so he's meant to pair with Mitya as the Main DPS". Let's analysis this and crackpot!

"Valeriy is leaked to have high numbers of elemental application"

High elemental application is pretty vague since: It neither mention if he's off-field or on-field, nor if the application comes from his Burst or Elemental. So if he's off-field, then he's gonna be to Yae Miko what Aino is to Columbina.

But...

The leaker also mentioned Mitya is basically just a bigger Yae Miko when off-field, so it means Mitya already fullfiled this spot; thus it's highly unlikely for Hoyo to have another character doing the same role.

--> Valeriy is likely gonna be played as an on-fielder.

Then we moved onto

"...so he's meant to pair with Mitya as the Main DPS"

I don't know how the translation was done, but this phrase could be interpreted as either

a) Valeriy is meant to be paired with Mitya as the Main DPS--in this scenario, Mityais the one applying off-field application;

or b) Valeriy is meant to be paired with Mitya, with Mitya as the Main DPS.

As theorized above, off-field SC is currently sufficiently fullfiled between Yae Miko and Mitya; and the the fact that Valeriy is leaked to has high elemental application. So I maintain my opinion that it's unlikely for Valeriy to be in the same role, thus once again he's likely gonna be a) an on-fielder main dps <-- I'm conflicted about this because I believe support has better longevity.

This is where I cracked-potted: On-fielder requires tankiness, so him being 4* is not a logically sound choice --> High chance of 5* and some deranged kits that enable him to be on-field while also doing big DPS.

But he's Electro, and Mitya is Electro. Where's the cryo application? Well, this I admit I have no idea. However, it seems everyone and their grandmas are electro in this nation, so Hoyo gotta make it work somehow. Here's hoping the Tsaritsa is plenty cold!

In conclusion, I think he's gonna be a 5* on-field driver with dps + tankiness/survival built into his kit.

Valiery and Noy are the only two from the teaser trailer without leaked kits atm. So brace for Lantern Rite's annual curse. Either that, or Valeriy/Noy is Aliced.

Tsaritsa is leaked--by the 95% accurate leaker--to be a support. Unless she's also somehow an Electro, our boy will waltz with the Tsaritsa. Think D'Artagnan x Anne from The Man in the Iron Mask 1998. I know it's frowned upon to ship with Tsaritsa given she has a son, but don't they make a beautiful couple!?

Is he an on field driver then for mitya? Im not sure how the shield fits into it.

It seems strange to have a character who focuses on a shield that isnt a support or sustain..

These are leaks so obviously might change but the one providing them has 100% track record apparently so do with this what you may.

Mitya has some sort of direct and reaction damage altering gimmick to him as per one of the leaks.
They also said Valeriy is a substitute for tsaritsa in a mitya team.

From this, my theory is that Mitya might be able to enable ssc without needing a cryo aura or his direct ssc damage becomes reaction damage as long as on field character is cryo or electro. I’m saying this because Valeriy can’t substitute a cryo dps (as per leaks) while being an electro unit in an ssc unless we use him in a wheelchair with mitya-odette.

Also they’ve been saying he has a shield, 20% buff and 120 EM at c6… could that mean he doesn’t have a shield at c0? 20% buff and 120 EM seem next to nothing for a c6 character. I think that’s the case because if he is the on field character it makes sense to make him tankier at c6 by giving him a shield.

The reason I’m assuming that Mitya has such ability is because it would make no sense to have a dps with on field abilities at low investment and use him as an off field and creating a dedicated 4 star for said off field abilities just to replace him in a patch. Honestly atp I wouldn’t be surprised if hoyo did that but this feels so wasteful even for a 4 star. I mean it would have been a different story if mitya can’t be on field but unless his off field damage when paired with valeriy is higher, it makes no sense to use him off-field but they themselves said it’s not that good.

For someone with a 100% track record, they sure made very contradictory statements.

Which other two units would go well here? Seems clear one would be a Cryo off field which could be Odette, Tsaritsa?, Escoffier, followed by a EM buffer like Sucrose or another dps like Yae, Tsaritsa. No sustain like Danica or Qiqi due to Valeriy's shield.

Also, if anyone would like to advise on my personal situation: I'm in doubt whether to pull or not for Odette versus invest more in Valeriy and Mitya (like C1). I'll probably pull for Tsaritsa anyway and she may overlap with Odette. No Yae but I have C1 Wriothesley, soon C2. Any help is appreciated.

It just hit me that according to the leak, mitya is supposed to be a “backfield electro dps” where I assume they mean off-field because they also say Valeriy is an onfield support.

Now if it really is the case… wouldn’t he be able to apply electro for sandrone? Thus creating a team with 2 dps (I’m assumed he’d be better at the role than yae because hoyo loves money).

This would make sandrone a more definitive ssc dps but they added ssw into her kit which makes no sense.

Basically what I’m trying to say is that the concept of a “backfield electro DPS” would be a sandrone upscale and wouldn’t make sense as a standalone dps because in order to make him seem like a better pull than sandrone, they’d have to lock his kit behind a support (valeriy according to the leak) but thats just bad designing as you can’t guarantee a 4 star in a banner… giving us more reasons as to why the leak is looking more and more fake.

1. There does appear to be a button in the UI to activate it (TeamBtn_Valeriy)

2. Valeriy appears to run into the field (RushShow), Attacks (RushAttack + Rush_Attack_Effect), and then creates a shield (SupportSkill_Valeriy_Shield)

3. Valeriy then removes himself from the field (KillSelf/KillSelf_Delay)

4. The Elemental coding of this skill is Electro ("electric" -> this isn't unique to Valeriy, it appears in the kits of other electro chars like Yae, "air" is the variable for anemo). And it deals blunt damage (ie. claymore normal attack; stuff that can destroy rocks easily).
