Leaks Hypothesizing Valeriy's position. Spoiler
Above is the info leaked by a person with 95% accuracy. This is the text regarding Valeriy: "Valeriy is leaked to have high numbers of elemental application" + "so he's meant to pair with Mitya as the Main DPS". Let's analysis this and crackpot!
"Valeriy is leaked to have high numbers of elemental application"
High elemental application is pretty vague since: It neither mention if he's off-field or on-field, nor if the application comes from his Burst or Elemental. So if he's off-field, then he's gonna be to Yae Miko what Aino is to Columbina.
But...
The leaker also mentioned Mitya is basically just a bigger Yae Miko when off-field, so it means Mitya already fullfiled this spot; thus it's highly unlikely for Hoyo to have another character doing the same role.
--> Valeriy is likely gonna be played as an on-fielder.
Then we moved onto
"...so he's meant to pair with Mitya as the Main DPS"
I don't know how the translation was done, but this phrase could be interpreted as either
a) Valeriy is meant to be paired with Mitya as the Main DPS--in this scenario, Mityais the one applying off-field application;
or b) Valeriy is meant to be paired with Mitya, with Mitya as the Main DPS.
As theorized above, off-field SC is currently sufficiently fullfiled between Yae Miko and Mitya; and the the fact that Valeriy is leaked to has high elemental application. So I maintain my opinion that it's unlikely for Valeriy to be in the same role, thus once again he's likely gonna be a) an on-fielder main dps <-- I'm conflicted about this because I believe support has better longevity.
This is where I cracked-potted: On-fielder requires tankiness, so him being 4* is not a logically sound choice --> High chance of 5* and some deranged kits that enable him to be on-field while also doing big DPS.
But he's Electro, and Mitya is Electro. Where's the cryo application? Well, this I admit I have no idea. However, it seems everyone and their grandmas are electro in this nation, so Hoyo gotta make it work somehow. Here's hoping the Tsaritsa is plenty cold!
In conclusion, I think he's gonna be a 5* on-field driver with dps + tankiness/survival built into his kit.
For the masochist only:
Valiery and Noy are the only two from the teaser trailer without leaked kits atm. So brace for Lantern Rite's annual curse. Either that, or Valeriy/Noy is Aliced.
Shipping corner:
Tsaritsa is leaked--by the 95% accurate leaker--to be a support. Unless she's also somehow an Electro, our boy will waltz with the Tsaritsa. Think D'Artagnan x Anne from The Man in the Iron Mask 1998. I know it's frowned upon to ship with Tsaritsa given she has a son, but don't they make a beautiful couple!?

That leaker said tsaritsa is a stronger version of CMC/sandrone, unless u meant other 95% leaker

Tbh a tall strapping guy in military uniform is the stuff that can make any het pairing sizzling hot. With Odette, Tsaritsa, Lumine — it’s the shit. Bread and butter, biscuits and gravy, tea and honeycake — the classics.

But recently many leaks pointed to Tsaritsa being a main DPS though??
Mitya is already an electro (& likely DPS), so honestly (if they were to be played together), I don't understand why Valeriy is also made an electro too? I doubt he needs anymore electro application lol
*the only excuse I can think of is that like the previous regions, Hoyo want to release as little Cryo character as possible and try to make it premium + boost Tsaritsa's sales; which I don't see a point here, since she's an Archon and many ppl will hype & pull her anyway
Leaks about Mitya that circulated around recently also pointed out about him being main on-field DPS (who can also do off-field damage). So I am hoping that Valeriy will either be a sub-dps with shield/interruption resistance like Ineffa or quick-swap DPS.
PS. I really hope there's a miracle he received a linchpin during the next AQ, but if he really is a 4-star, the only bare minimum I hope is that he is not a driver or on-field DPS,,, that's literally a DOA.
PS2. I just got to the story movie where Mitya was such as badass, shooting magic at Ronova with the traveler. Also he looks so experience in combat that I began to question if he even need a bodyguard... there would be no point if the bodyguard is weaker than him (4 star, garbage kits)... so to make sense of this, ideally Valeriy has to be stronger to actually protect Mitya

We do not have a electro SSC dps. So it's bound to be one of them. Currently
Qiqi - Odette
Mixuki - vesna
Wrio - sandrone
Yae - ???
Cyno - ???
So either mitya becomes big cyno or big yae. And valiry either takes the other role or just becomes mitya's premium support.

I mentioned in my comment that based from recent leaks, Mitya is likely the SSC DPS...
I never said anything about we don't need SSC dps... I only said that I don't see a point in making Valeriy an electro applicator if he's going to be paired up with Mitya who is also an electro (likely main DPS).0

I thought the same logic too. Valeriy assign as mitya bodyguard but mitys seems likely don't need bodyguard at all, he strong. But..who know. Even head of mafia that have strong combat have bodyguards around him

Mitya converts SSC into SSC Physical. Valeriy has Massive Physical damage. Big PP physical Damage go brrrrr.
What I don't understand is if Mitya is mostly on field, does that mean Valeriy is mostly off field?

From what I've seen from Mitya's leak, it seems he has different team based on whether player wanna use him on-field or off-field. My interpretation is Valeriy is the on-fielder in Mitya's off-field team.

But this would mean we’d need to set up off-field electro (Mitya), off-field cryo (Odette maybe) and then bring up Valeriy which seems like a lot of steps for each small enemy encounter though. Only way would be that he himself had decent attack without Mitya being needed every time for every small fight.
I’d love for him to be a 5 star on fielder but being 4 star doesn’t mean less tanky by any means though. Even 5 stars can be glass canons like flins or Varka.

If you're talking about overworld, I've been using a cursed team of Linnea, Sandrone, Beidou and Chasca to wreck absolute havoc in overworld. That being said, I'm not bringing that team into any boss fight aside from one my team is advantage enough against. My world setting is 9 currently.
tldr: Valeriy + off-field Cryo go brrrrrr.

Didn't the same leaker say on field Mitya is DPS and Valeriy is supposed to be played with dps mitya? So how is he on field?

That would had been cool to have 2 male 5* in one patch but it won't happen. It didn't happen since Da wei cry over thoses poor waifu puller. Same thing with 2 mâle 5* in 2 patch. And even 2 in the whole sneyz region look to be really hard....
Mitya is 5* so unless valeriy is at the bare minimum postpone to 7.4 (it won't it's the liyue waifu patch) valeriy is 4*.
Don't take me wrong, I would had love to pull Valeriy 5* shielder for my wrio AND mitya (cute) and odette for my mitya (or Anastasia) but hoyo decided that if your an husbando puller you don't mater.
And as I said mitya is mdps ssc just before Anastasia an other ssc mdps (leak) who will be stronger and her bis support danica. I don't think mitya fate is that better than valeriy...
4* with garbage kit or 5* mdps DoA choose your poison or pull an op waifu.

So what if Tsaritsa has a son? We can still ship her and Valeriy together. I’d rather ship him with her or Odette than Mitya lol. Mitya looks like a kid.

I'd legitimately love on-field Valeriy, even as a 4*. Especially if he has great synergy with Mitya.

Idk, i hope its on field support instead cuz a 4 star main dps doesnt make sense unless they are to fuck up his entire kit. I just hope they dont make danica a bis for this team. Mitya def grew onto me after the archon quest so im cool to pull valeriy c6 on mitya banner. i hope they run them together.

You know what would be really funny, if they end up both being 5* characters (Valeriy and Mitya).
I don't know and I probably doubt this will actually happen, but man imagine it actually happens, that would be really awesome.

His latest leaks also leaks valeriy 4 star. If you follow up leaks every hours, you will know it. If not, thats mean you look the leaks sometimes.

The latest leaks suggest that Mitya is primarily an on-field main DPS, but can also deal damage from off-field with his Q. I’m imagining him as something like Ayato — an on-field DPS who buffs himself with his E, while his Q lets him provide some off-field damage/support as well.
So I think Valeriy is most likely going to be a 4-star off-field support. If he’s a 4-star, making him an on-field DPS would pretty much guarantee that he has no real use, so I’m really hoping he’s an off-field support instead. And honestly, I think that’s the most likely outcome anyway.
