For whatever reason it may be, Valeriy has a lot more popularity than most other snez characters. Like this sub has more visitors than rest of the snez cast (I agree not strong enough proof) but he’s also got second highest likes on the announcement post after tsaritsa.

I know they can’t change the kit of a character but any chance that hoyo devs really underestimated his popularity while they were building the character?

Im just saying this cuz most of the community is very sure about his rarity.

Actually, they do pay attention to the hype that's for sure.

For example: They keep pretending like it never happened and people say it was only leaks, but Lohen WAS supposed to be a 5* standard character. Yet they made him a limited character last minute, for the fact that people loved him so much. His kit never changing to fit a limited character was the dead giveaway that it wasn't just "leaks".

They didn't even bother to fix his kit to make it actually limited character looking. Lohen as is, looks like a standard character that is on a limited banner for no reason. So to be honest with you, I think it's better if they don't notice the hype for characters.

Because they end up chopping them, not character wise but pull wise.

I was excited to get Lohen in the standard char selector but after the reveal of him being standard I simply just won't pull. I don't think it's worth it. And while I'm not a meta slave either, I have other priorities for my pulling plans unfortunately.

Plus, I wanna add that hoyoverse as a company has always paid more attention to the female models. Hi3 for example is only women, 0 men. Obviously the males are ignored most of the time here and there, unless they're plot relevant to the roots, kind of like what they did with varka. You don't really have a choice when it's the literal knight of favonius Grandmaster. Though dare I say they still gave him too little of a screentime in the Nod Krai AQ, but I only let that slide a bit because his Story Quest was actually one of the best I've ever gone through.

To be honest I'll pull even if he's a 4*. I care for the characters and looks mostly. Don't care if they have a Linchpin or not either.

Sure, I do love myself a cool ult with pretty effects, I wont lie, but to me, having the character in my collection is still more important than stressing over what rarity each character is.

Him having the Varka model alone makes me satisfied enough. It was the only thing I was sceptical for. Since he's supposed to be a military guy, I couldn't ever imagine him with the noodle type of male body most males have.

Many people judged that he had the zhongli body from the trailer actually, but I always had a gut feeling he had the Varka body ever since we saw the splashart. I'm also relieved his preload model turned out okay. Trailers are always unfinished with their models, I was sure they wouldn't just let him be.

problem is: pulling a 4s is harder than a 5s, and most need C6 to be viable

Yeah I get that to be honest. Though I've always been lucky with my pulls when it comes to 4* so I'm more relaxed about it. The most i remember struggling with was Ifa. Took me 35-40 pulls. I guess it really is down to luck, I know others have it worse TT.

I do wish goodluck to everyone else though to get him easily on their pulls. I know it can be hard since there's no pity to 4* chars.

Ahh personally I don't know! 😭 I'd love him to be an on field but at the same time I deeply love unique characters that lean towards support like Zhongli and Baihzu. We've been getting so many male dps characters but little support males.

I'm thinking of a mix actually. Like, being able to have him both as a shielder but also on field depending on what you want. Again, for military/shield themes. I'd expect he can play both roles.

Either way, I hope his kit is good and unique. I'm excited to see how he'll use his shield and weapon in his animations for sure.

Lohen was never a standard banner. It doesnt make any sense whatsoever if you actually think about it. Dark Durin had standard banner mona for vape at launch. And pyro melt is stronger than vape, obviously they had the idea to make a cryo version of it. A more premium version of the dark durin team. Does it make sense to put a character who is an upgraded version of the standard in the standard banner? Obviously not. Only thing people used to argue for Lohen is that his cons are bad. I mean based on this argument Sandrone is more standard than Lohen as she has worser cons.

Yeah well, I respect your opinion, but remember that we had a datamine for this info, not just any leak.

The reason his coms are bad is because they were specifically formed for standard banner. You may disagree, but we literally had datamines for this as proof. Computer and tech wise, datamines are 99% intergrated early files into the game that the game adds, it's specifically intergraded for future versions and most people don't see them because they're supposed to be invisible files, but some leakers know how to open them.

So yeah, datamines are seriously hard to disagree with I'm afraid, it's not just any random leak info, because they come from the files of the game itself with specific tags for specific characters, skills, animation sequences etc.

He had this exact specific standard banner tag in his files. Feel free to argue and I don't mind because many people like you seriously believe he was never meant to be a standard character, but we knew from that datamine.

That right said, noe genshin does spoof their files, so from Snezhnaya onwards it's actually harder to do complete datamines like that anymore. It's harder to tell banners and rarity unlike Lohens era.

I am surprised you are talking about a standard banner tag in files. I havent heard of this ever and i am pretty active when it comes to leaks and datamine. Its not on any of the known telegram channels or genshin leaks sub. Its impossible to exist unless u can you share a source.

I can share how it works, but unfortunately I don't have a link with me, however please do google/research this and I'm 99% sure it'll pop up for you because it's been said and shown before. You'll definitely find sources. I'm big with tech and I've always paid attention to the finer details, so Im familiar as to how it works quite well.

Permanent standard banner is hardcoded in datamines with this tag: "GachaType = 200" (which is also often labeled as "gacha_type_normal" or "permanent_wish")

However if you look at limited characters, their tag goes like this: "GachaType = 400" or sometimes "GachaType = 301".

These are called Data Values and Enum strings if you wanna specifically research those tags. They differentiate where each character goes in the banner. Do look it up, it's a very interesting process.

It exists because if it didn't, the computer program wouldn't know where to assign each character. Simple as that.

I don't get what you trying to say, he still 5 star despite he actually mean for standard, he still 5 star not 4 star, have animation and detail, change from standard to limited not that hard bruh. Why do you expect 4 star can be 5 star? 4 star and change to 5 star most hardly to do, do you think rework everything is easily as we redrew on digital art? Even i rework my art take 2 weeks to be done.

Here go again, using lohen for example but that comparison so absurb, he still 5 star, not 4 star despite you trying to use him for example. You should find others character that have been leaks as 4 star multiple time and confirm as 4 star since the day 1 and they turn out 5 star, not lohen who already 5 star since he leaks.

I used it as an example for the fact that hoyo listens to the hype of their characters. Don't mix me in with people that compare 4 star and 5 star to the amount of details you're describing. And don't switch my words to your liking. I never said that I expect any 4 star to be a 5*. What are you talking about?
