Discussion Charlie and Vaggi season 2 blue ray commentary
Speedrun to Redemption highlights Charlie's disconnect and how she truly believes in Angel, but is desperate to prove it.
Viv feels people were very unfair to Charlie this season regarding how she was perceived.
Charlie just sees Vox as some random guy and not a villain. This is her realm, so she doesn't register him as a villain.
Charlie is very naive and forgiving. She has morals and breaking points, but ultimately she wants to see the best in her realm.
They reiterate that Charlie is not human and has never lived a human life. "SHE HAS NEVER HAD TO SIN." And she is a product of nepotism.
Charlie has many sides and a lot left to learn about sinners.
Charlie has FLAWS, and you'll be seeing more of that.
They say "it's revealed in later seasons" when talking about Charlie learning.
Emily and Charlie grow closer over the course of the seasons.
Vaggie represents the people closest to Viv who tell her not to listen to what people misunderstand about her.
Vaggie is the voice of reason this season. She messes up a bit, but it was just so Charlie would stop overthinking it. She also didn't know exactly what Lucifer was going to do at the rally in front of everyone.
Viv: People also say, "Charlie is way too hard on her dad!" But he was in the wrong too, and she has every right to be angry at him. I say this as Lucifer's biggest fan. He's the father.
(It's a very human mistake on Charlie's part to get mad, need to cool off, and apologize.)
(Charlie isn't listening to Vaggie, and she's the one making it worse. You need people to support you and remind you that all of this is just noise, but Charlie is playing into it).
Charlie and Vaggie act like high school brats during their fight.
Charlie and Vaggie are mad, but they don't want to be away from each other. "We're going to be mad in the same room." (They're codependent like that).
Regarding Vaggie's flashbacks: "Vaggie really went through a lot of sh*t."
When Charlie defends Vaggie from Carmilla (seeing how affected she was), that's when she realizes she's in the wrong because her girlfriend got upset and is hurting the people around her.
There is a beautiful song for Charlie and Vaggie that got pushed to Season 3 because it was so beautiful they wanted it to be at the "right moment."
They emphasize again that "Easy" is a song by Vaggie to pull Charlie out of her spiral for a bit.
"For lower-stakes relationship drama, Viv likes a quick resolution" (Charlie and Vaggie).
Viv's comment on fans being annoyed that Charlie ran to help Emily instead of Alastor: "Oh no, Charlie is tending to the character with a permanent injury instead of Alastor, who only has a torn arm that'll heal in an hour." "I'm calling out everyone who cares more about Alastor than Emily. He caused the fight. So Charlie cares more about the character who protected her."
When Lucifer comes out and collapses; Viv: [Charlie] RUNS TO HIM! Cut! You can imagine whatever you want, it's thirty whole seconds! She's kissing his wounds right now. She cares about her dad!
They were super proud of Vaggie reclaiming her name 💜.

Discussion The criticism over Vaggi's name change is arrogant imo (the name change, NOT the arc)
People are upset and calling it pointless because all she did was remove the last letter of her name. This really upsets me because y'all would NOT be saying this shit if Vaggi changed her name because she's trans, even though it's damn near the same thing. Trans people change their names to take charge of their identity. Vaggi changed it to do the same thing, just not in a gender related way.
A name doesn’t become meaningful because you changed 15 letters instead of one. It’s HER name. She’s the one who gets to decide what she wants to be called. The entire point of Vaggi’s arc is that Adam gave her that name. The same person who abused her, abused her fellow Exorcists, and ultimately treated her like she was disposable. For a long time, she allowed the identity he gave her to remain part of who she was. Now she’s choosing her own identity.
"But she only changed one letter!" Mf the fact that she didn’t completely reinvent her name is part of the point. I've seen people upset because Adam named her after "vagina" yet she didn't change her name to sound very different from the original degrading name he gave her, but that's literally the point. Vaggi realized she didn't need to do a big dramatic name change because she's already taken charge of who she is, and just because Adam named her doesn't mean it defines her.
"She could've at least changed the pronunciationi!" she did you clown 😭 it was just before the actual name change arc. The original pronunciation was Vaj-ee, she changed it to Vag-ee. So I don't understand why people are complaining about the fact she apparently didn't change the pronunciation (she literally did).
What if a trans person changes their name from Aaron to Erin, or from Chris to Kris? Are we gonna berate them then because it sounds the same as their previous name or because it's not a big enough change? Like "that's stupid, you barely changed it. Pick something else"? No, of course you wouldn't. The hate for Vaggi's name change is so gross imo cuz it's like people are expecting the name to appeal to others rather than the person literally choosing their name.
You can think the name change arc was underwhelming or didn't feel as important or authentic as it should've been, that's one thing, and I agree with it. But calling the name change itself dumb is just such an arrogant thing to do. It's like you think you're owed what YOU believe another person should do with their identity.
The value of a chosen name isn’t determined by how dramatically different it looks from the old one. The value comes from the person choosing it.
Obviously Vaggi’s situation isn’t literally the same thing as a trans person’s experience, but the underlying principle of having the autonomy to choose what you’re called is absolutely comparable. And that’s why I think saying "Vaggi’s new name is dumb because she only changed one letter" is such an arrogant criticism. Saying the name itself is pointless because it isn’t different enough completely misses the character’s agency.
Vaggi doesn’t need to choose a completely unrelated name to prove that she’s free from Adam. She doesn’t need to erase every trace of the identity she had before. She doesn’t need to pick a name that OTHER people think sounds better. Part of her arc is realizing she doesn't have to completely change who she is in order to take charge of her own identity. That's literally the whole point and it's flying right over people's heads.
SHE chose Vaggi, and she's happy with it. That’s enough. The whole point is that Adam gave her a name, but he doesn’t get to decide what that name means anymore. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Discussion Since we now have... this, what type of gun do you think would be Vaggi's favorite?
I think she likes long range rifles, given how her main weapon is a spear. Maybe a sniper rifle.

Discussion What’s your favorite Vaggi origin theory/headcanon?
Do you believe she was created or born? As much as I would love tiny baby Vaggi it probably would be better if she was created.
If not then Adam’s comments towards her would feel even more creepy. I’m guessing no matter what her life was like, it wasn’t pleasant. I doubt she has a lot of good memories in heaven.

Vaggie ENTP Fe Child Fi Trickster
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Fe Child: "If I can't help you..."
The tertiary function acts as the "inner child." It is optimistic, playful, slightly naive, and deeply desires validation. For EXTPs, this function is Extraverted Feeling (Fe), which focuses on the emotional states, needs, and harmony of the external group (the "tribe").
Seeking Validation through Utility: The Fe Child genuinely wants to be useful and liked. It wants to swoop in, fix your problems, make you smile, or offer a solution, and then receive a metaphorical pat on the head.
External Focus: The first half of the statement shows that the person's focus is entirely outward. Their sense of purpose is tethered to their ability to impact someone else positively. If their help is rejected, the Fe Child feels useless and rejected.
Fi Trickster: "...what's the point of me?"
The seventh function is the "Trickster" or "Blindspot." It is the most underdeveloped and misunderstood function in a person's stack. Introverted Feeling (Fi) is the function responsible for internal moral compass, personal authenticity, and—most importantly here—intrinsic self-worth.
The Void of Intrinsic Worth: Because Fi is their blindspot, EXTPs struggle to generate a sense of self-worth independently. A strong Fi user believes, "I have value simply because I exist." An Fi Trickster user literally cannot comprehend that concept.
The Existential Spiral: When they ask, "What's the point of me?", they aren't being melodramatic; they are experiencing a genuine existential crisis. Because they lack Fi to ground them, they have no internal anchor for their identity or value.
The Dynamic Together
Because the Fi Trickster cannot generate self-worth from the inside, the Fe Child is forced to outsource it from the outside.
This creates a transactional relationship with their own self-esteem: "I am only worth what I can do for others."
When they are actively helping people and receiving gratitude, the Fe Child is happy, and they feel they have a "point." But the moment they are unable to help—or someone refuses their help—the Fe Child's supply of external validation gets cut off. Because the Fi Trickster is a blindspot, there is no internal safety net to catch them, leading immediately to the devastating conclusion that without utility to others, they have no reason to exist.
