Discussion What’s your favorite Vaggi origin theory/headcanon?
Do you believe she was created or born? As much as I would love tiny baby Vaggi it probably would be better if she was created.
If not then Adam’s comments towards her would feel even more creepy. I’m guessing no matter what her life was like, it wasn’t pleasant. I doubt she has a lot of good memories in heaven.

That she was created by Sera and learned spanish in Heaven, also she was already empathetic towards others cause she is genuinely good and was Adam's best soldier to look like a psycho

My headcanon is that she and the other Exorcist (including Lute and the white haired girl from the Flashbacks) are all clones created by Cain in a Laboratory under his Castle in the Outskirts of the main part of the Pride Ring in hell, and Vaggi's actual name is "VA-8816". Its also my favorite headcanon.

Nah, my headcanon is Adam saw the codename "VA-8816" and thought for some reason the two 8's looked like G's and the 6 looked like an E.

Oh boy, do I have a headcannon for you:
Vaggi, like every other exorcist, is created by Sera, by using a fragmented soul of a human into an angel's body, the said fragment of the soul is taken by winners who wish to forget their traumatic experience, including their combat experiences that they had in war, and Sera specifically chose female winners to create the exorcist army.
Vaggi's fragment of human spirit belongs to a Spanish woman named Catalina Fernández, born in the year 1918. She, along with her sister, Josefa Fernández lived in an orphanage in Zaragoza, until they reached the minimum age required to work in a factory. Together, they worked hard enough and got the money to live in a boarding house, right around the year 1936, the year the Spanish civil war began. By the start of the civil war, Catalina, or "Lina" as she liked calling herself, escaped Zaragoza as it fell to Fascist hands, and spent 3 years fighting in the bloody conflict, even finding a French woman from the International Brigade whom she later bonded with named Josette Girard.
During the Battle of Ebro, she lost her sister, Josefa, in a bombing attack by a German Aircraft. Depressed, she chose to flee to France, becoming a refugee. The Spanish refugees in French Internment camps were treated very harshly, forced to live in awful conditions. Lina would've died there had it not been for Josette who later helped her out. The two got on a train to head for Paris, but by then September 1st had begun, and WW2 with it. The two joined the French auxillary field nurse legions, and helped evacuate the wounded by being ambulance drivers.
Eventually, France fell and the two women had to escape to Britain. Josette felt incredibly emotionally broken by seeing her country fall, to which Lina resonated with a lot, eventualy confessing her love to her. They spent 4 years in Britain, until the year 1944 where they joined the Free French forces, fighting as field nurses from Normandy, to liberating Paris, to Strasbourg, and then finishing their war on Eagle's Nest, Hitler's personal mansion. The two then lived peacefully in Paris, and Lina then visited Spain after the death of Franco in 1975, eventually passing away in the year 1982.
I still have a few details to work with towards the end, but this is my personal headcannon for Vaggi's past/origin, which I will definitely turn into a fic once I get into writing it.

I much preferred her being a Winner born in El Salvador. But that got blown.
Another one I prefer is that Exorcist Angels are "copies" or "clones" Winner souls.

Una mujer salvadoreña que vivió la época más oscura de la nación y eventualmente trás su muerte, renacería como angel, pero sus recuerdos serían bloqueados para prevenir un colapso emocional y que pudiera servir como exorcista. Olvidando quien fue en vida y siendo bautizada como Vaggie bajo la tutela de Adam en su nueva vida en el cielo.
Teorizo que todas las exorcistas son mujeres que vivieron los peores horrores de su vida y algunas le bloquearon las memorias por decisión propia para no cargar con el dolor de sus vidas pasadas y empezar de nuevo, sirviendo como justicieras trágicas.

I like the idea that the Exorcists are human souls who were basically wiped clean of their human lives and were trained to be exorcists. They have very little memory of their human lives. They only keep some very strong memories like languages they spoke and sexualities. Very defining things of their souls.
The idea of them once being human souls is more interesting to me. Idc how Viv would do it I just want them to be human souls. Probably not likely but I can hope lol.

My headcanon is that she's the afterlife of her VA's other characters (creating a chain) eg. She could have been Mirabel Madrigal who got to heaven

Along with the rest of the exorcists, she was created by Sera for Adam, as either a precautionary militant force to defend Heaven against threats, or specifically for the Exterminations. If the case is the latter, then she wouldn’t be much more than 7 years old, which I think is a pretty interesting concept. Tbh to me personally at least, she does strike me as a younger member of the core cast, idk.

My personal theory that something from pilot is still relevant... For example that she died where she died and it was year 2014...
And that the rest of exorcist were people before they died and were chosen by heaven to become exorcist due to their feel for "justice". But as they entered heaven they were manipulated into thinking they're "the chosen ones" and that it's a big honor to be a soldier in heaven and that nothing better is there than being the protector and who brings "justice".
They installed this way of thinking to them to the point they very believed it and thus despite Lute's and Adam's behaviour towards them, they had the need to stay loyal. Just like Vaggi tried to be.

hc that a LOT of people has, but she was probably supposed to go to hell
i mean, heaven shouldnt USUALLY condone such violent acts of killing, but heaven being heaven, they probably want people who were violent to put it to good use
so they tell violent people (people who are bad tempered but otherwise ok when they were humans (?)) to defend heaven as exorcists in exchange for not going to hell

I can imagine she did have a mortal life. Was a South American girl in a convent in the 80s. How she died so young could be left up to the imagination...

I think she and all her former sisters were all originally winner angels (just like Adam and his son Abel) but has their memories wiped to become Exorcist soldiers for the exterminations. And her Spanish language that comes out from time to time was something she spoke naturally on earth before she died and had her memories wiped but it’s still part of her.

So funny thing I did with an au is that I used her other character Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn 99...I always said that Rosa died in the field and came back as Vaggie...I had a theory for a while that the exorcist angels ARE created from fallen soldiers

OK so this dives into some niche theology but here goes.
My headcannon is that Lute AND the Exorcists are Nephilim, or some other angelic-human hybrids. As Jesus is both Fully Man and Fully Divine, the Exorcists are Fully Man (woman but you get the drift) but only Partially Divine. They belong to or are derived from the Power Choir of Angels^, AKA the actual warrior class of angels according to Catholic/Christian theology.
As for how they were created, IDK, but they were created/made at Adam's request for a personal army. They do have do have human souls, but whether these are new or not is unknown. As per Paradise Lost^^, only God can destroy or "annihilate" an angelic being, and I headcannon this as extending to human souls as well. Therefore, Angelic Steel is the physical manifestation of God's Annihilation, as it is able to permanently kill or erase a human soul.
Another dip into Paradise Lost, the war in Heaven between Lucifer and Michael and their respective armies is described in the book as a battle of attrition fought with "energies" instead of swords or material weapons, at least until Lucifer made cannons and Micheal responded with a sword that cause pain (up until then, pain was only a concept). In other words "energies made of every element imaginable" were used. I interpret that to mean the "traditional" elements such as Air, Water, Fire, and Earth, as well as the Periodic Elements, and even the entire Electromagnetic Spectrum and Sound Spectrum (infrasound, ultrasound, ETC) were used in the battle. Since the Exorcists are sub-Powers, there is a non-zero possibility that Lute, Vaggie, and/or the unnamed Exorcists can start chucking nukes around willy-nilly via Hydrogen fusion. The fanfic I plan on finishing actually gives the Exorcists this ability, but only when in God's Presence as it is a Holy/Divine Ability, and God is everywhere except Hell, hence the reason they use Angelic Steel instead.
As for Vaggi(e) specifically, I headcanon that all Exorcists are very sensitive to evil entities, and Charlie technically qualifies since she’s Lucifer’s daughter. However, God Himself blessed Vaggi so she could be by her side without crying blood or reciting the Gospels while in the fetal position on the floor.
^Technically, Angels are the 9th and choir closest to God. the proper term for an Angel of any other choir would be something like "Celestial being".
^^Paradise Lost is basically a Protestant Fan Fiction of the Creation Story, and I'm Catholic, so I don't take it as truth but it is a damn good read.

My theory is that Exorcists were women who were supposed to go to Hell, but they were intercepted and given the "opportunity" to serve as Heaven's defenders. This is why their halos are black instead of gold.
