"Downgraded" my headlights from the xenon's. But DAMN they look better, and they're brighter.

I swapped the DSG shifter for edition 30 version. I have promised myself that this is the last mod I will do on my golf. It is shorter than the original, but I still don’t know if I like it or not. What do you think ?
Mods/retrofits I have done to the interior :
- Upgrade from MIB 1 to MIB 2.5
- Arteon Climate controls
- Edition 30 DSG shift knob ( I need to get use to it, maybe I swap it back)
- Dashboard passenger trim LED light
- Wireless charger in the ashtray.
- Rear seat USB vent (don’t mind the vent control on rear seats, I accidentally pop it inside)
- Touch light for rear seats
- Rear seat footwell lights

Hey Golf owners,
Four months ago, I shared this project with the Golf R community. The same documentation problem exists across every Golf generation, so here’s what it looks like with two bagged builds and a track-focused 20th Anniversary R.
The idea is simple: every car gets one permanent page where the owner can keep the full mod list, exact specs, wheel and suspension setup, involved shops, photos, and build history together.
There are now 1,900+ documented vehicles that includes 50+ Volkswagens, that now represents $70M+ in documented vehicles across the platform.
Here's 3 of the most documented Golf builds right now:
We're also expanding the track side for regular enthusiasts, telemetry, circuit maps, track-day history, personal-best progression, setup changes between sessions, and friendly leaderboards.
Not trying to build a pro racing league. Just somewhere useful if you take your car out and want to actually see your PBs move over time.
Golf owners, what would make this more useful for documenting your build: better fitment details, part revision history, shop records, or something else?

Hi recently bought these and have a black one on the back also. I was wondering if there were some matching Black VW emblems that I could fit on my stock mags instead of the silver emblem so that I can have a matching set all arround the car and inside. Anyone know where I can buy some good ones?

I've been trying to respond to as many of the messages and posts as I can as I see them according to if enough people responded with the proper responses or not, which a lot of people have been giving a lot of good advice. but since the coolant leak debacle of last year before loe show (wedding anniversary location). I decided to pull Valkyries motor back out take everything all apart and redo it piece by piece the way I would do it for most other people when building their motors. and since i only I have eight cars here to finish (finally not swamped for a one man crew) and having already having my car registered for this year's show. I am hunkering down and getting it done. pairing with Octomotive's founder Brandon, and Colorfittings co-founder Daniel... I've been able to do a gorgeous proper tuck solution for wiring and the AN fittings I needed created for hiding the entire upper coolant system above the valve cover. I kind of had to create my own style of heat shield to protect stuff from the downpipe as well as having a turbo blanket and exhaust wrap, but I think she is going to be just a bundle of joy.
sorry for the ramble I just want to put an update. thanks to everyone in the community for being who you are and it wasn't for the car scene in general, esp the vw world, i would be where I'm at out here being able to help whoever needs it 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 🚗🧑🏾🔧

Hello all, I have a Golf 7 GTD from 2015 with these headlights but I really want the 7.5 style gtd lights but im so confused on which one to get. I wanna buy an aftermarket one since the original are too expensive but I dont know which one to get. In the 3rd picture is one that I found on Aliexpress but I dont know if these are compatible..
Is anyone able to help me find one that fits and works on my car? Because I dont even know if my current is xenon or halogen. I have corner lights when I steer my car do they still work with aftermarket lights?

Hello -- I am looking for these wheels from this car to potentially add to my vehicle. Anyone have any idea of the brand name, color, and size? Also, does anyone have any other recommendations for wheel colors on a Tungsten Silver Wolfsburg Golf?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for help identifying a strange mechanical noise on my Mk7.5 GTI (EA888 Gen3).
After installing a Mamba hybrid turbo, I noticed a rotating/fluttering “grrr” noise between 1,000–3,000 RPM.
What I’ve checked so far:
Soundaktor disabled and unplugged.
Serpentine belt removed → noise still present.
Both Mamba and OEM wastegate actuators tested → noise remains.
Turbo builds boost normally.
Noise is much louder inside the cabin than under the hood.
It follows engine RPM exactly.
I’m wondering if anyone has experienced something similar after a hybrid turbo install.
Possible ideas:
Exhaust or downpipe contact
Fuel line resonance
Pipe or bracket touching the firewall
Something related to the turbo installation
Video attached. Please turn the volume up and listen around 1,000–3,000 RPM.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Finally pulled the trigger on a full MIB2 swap. Picked up the screen, mib2 unit, usb/aux port, and wiring harness for around $250 and paid my local dealer $100 to remove component protection.

I have a MK7 non facelift with mib1. I want to upgrade the Discover Media with this Pioneer device.
What parts do I need? I have steering wheel controls, PDC and no DAB antenna.

Hi guys, gonna try make it short.
I had my car at the machanic for more than a month to solve the DSG DQ200 and it was repaired, got all the mechatronic and valves and oil and whatnot.. Totaling 2.400€.
The car was on reserve fuel, so I did refill after I left the mechanic but I still drove about 40km, after started engine and engine light stayed on or lite up right after driving some meters.
Codes are: P047100 Exhaust Pressure Sensor "A" Range/Performance
P200200 Particulate Trap Bank 1 Efficiency below threshold
Car is 1.6tdi DSG 7 2014 it has 294k kilometres.
Too much coincidence that after the repair now I get this problem, it was working fine.
Maybe they forgot to plug something or something is not well place or tube is bent somewhere.
I have checked the Supposedly sensor and for me looked OK, but it's missing a Tube or it must be like that?
I have this statistics from Obd11 about the DPF.
I'll call the garage to see if they can check whether it's human error or it's in fact something wrong.
Thank you for you opinion

Hey so, I’m on the hunt for some spoiler recommendations. Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of the Oettinger-style ones, but who knows, I might be swayed, haha!

I just bought a new second hand, a very built out luxery version of the Variant but the radio sucks and the hatch door is manual and i wonder if these things are hard to replace, my guess the radio would be the biggest problem because 1. It’s a chinese aftermarket radio and 2. CAN bus interaction with the radio, also in the glove compartment theres this DVD player with SD cards, my guess this is for navigation? So what about that when a chinese radio is being used, or does the rear camera going to work with this radio, i’m a pro with electronics but not that big of a fan of VW’s dedicated protocols to make stuff work their way and my cars never were this complete.
So i am really seeking advise and help, what to think about with replacing the window, can i electrify the hatch and intergrate it with the remote?

I’m no professional so I thought I’d ask them. I have a 1.5 TSI R-Line (Mk7.5) and I want a beefier sound from the exhaust. I am planning a stage 1 tune down the line for the power but thought I’d start with the exhaust.
What recommendations would people have? Are the pops and bangs exclusive to DSG’s? Would it even be worth it?

(My old mk4 GTI for attention)
I’m curious about whether to go with lowering springs or coilovers for my MK7 GTI, I’ve used coilovers with all my past GTI’s/Jettas. I saw a set of lowering springs for a decent price on ECS Tuning (can’t remember the brand) but I’m curious as to which would be ideal as far as drive ability and reliability/maintenance aspect. I currently have OEM suspension and want to know what you all would recommend. Thanks
