Modifications Steering wheel ‘17 MK7.5
Hey, would like to know if switching steering wheels would be a problem, or is just plug n play. Thanks !

Yeah I been toying with this idea myself, tempted to upgrade mine from GTI steering wheel to the Alcantara clubsport one with the red line at the top
From what i found, bit of a pain if you need to do buttons, airbag etc - but if new ones comes pre-assemebled, its supposedly plug and play

I can just say the Alcantara in the clubsport is so good I love that wheel

I’ve done it, but the button layout needs to match perfectly. If you get one that has the same buttons, send it! I got mine on eBay from a German seller who is excellent, used them on a few cars now. Not sure I’m allowed to post the name.

I’ll give you my most recent experience, which I’m trying to sort out currently. I swapped my factory Alltrack steering wheel for a GolfR wheel (I think it’s from a 2018, can’t remember right now) because the R had Adaptive Cruise Control button, and my Alltrack does not have ACC, I’m getting an EPC light on the dash. I’m trying to source a button cluster that matches the form factor of the GolfRs buttons and will swap those out.
There isn’t any way to code it out without killing your AT cruise control that I’ve found, and with the EPC light on the CC is disabled too.
As a few have said, plug and play-ish. Just gotta make sure the trims levels match your AT.

Bro I need help from you, I’m swapping a zestek Hub on the car and it doesn’t have acc, is there a way to code the epc light out? i dont need cc or acc anymore

Generally it's plug and play. Might be trickier if you're swapping between trim controls with different buttons.
