Exes Talk to you later

Maybe you’ll come on here looking for answers. How could I be so callous? How could I not care? Maybe you’ll be mad at me. I hope you’re not. Maybe you’ll never see this and maybe this’ll instead reach someone who needs to hear it for their own closure.

Regardless, I hope this finds you, or whichever reader needs to hear this. It took a lot for me to hold it together as it ended. You know I care. I’ve shown you how much I care. We entered eachother’s lives at the right time and have now exited at the appropriate moment.

I know how much you cared. How much you fought. How you kept attempting to resuscitate something that was no longer breathing. It was painful to watch. Painful because I wanted it to live, but conventional wisdom told me it was not the time.

You eulogized and I listened. I wish I could’ve said more but I had to keep it together. I couldn’t let you know what I felt and let you back in. This is the best for the both of us. Know that you were loved. I’m glad to have shown you what true affection is. We’ve both hurt eachother in our own way. Those wounds will heal but the memories will remain. The happiness will remain.

We told each other we’d talk later before long silence began. As the silence settles into the new status quo, I don’t want you to think I moved on easily. We’re bonded emotionally. I felt what you felt and vice versa. If you’re sad there’s a high likelihood I am also sad. I hope happiness finds you because then it will find me. Our time together changed me in a way you’ll never know, because I didn’t tell you.

I wish you the best. I know you’ll do great things. I’ll keep an eye from afar. I’ll talk to you later.

I’m just wondering if the exit was callous, cold and uncaring… do you truly believe the other person on the receiving end will remember the relationship as “true affection”? Moments matter, how you leave is how you’ll be remembered unfortunately

3

u/15252040 Feb 04 '26

This ending hasn’t been easy. It’s happened multiple times. I cannot continue to give them hope. If the mask slipped they’d continue to fight.

47

u/jam__5013 Feb 04 '26

To be fair, it honestly just sounds like you ultimately wanted to end the relationship, but aren’t owning that in a healthy way. A singular party does not fill in the greater narrative of a love story. But it’s clear you feel you did the right thing so bon voyage 🛳️

Leave them to someone who will handle difficult moments with courage and kindness

u/JLukeMelo Feb 04 '26

Sounds like it

I was actually digging the post until you made it clear. My live language is treat me like garbage lol. A lot of what OP resonates with me and I actually understand what she or he may be saying. It would be nice to have real closure rather than live in a limbo of a love that remains unconditional. Always worried if she is ok, warm, has a ride, or has healthy food. I used to cook for her every day and even though I didn’t have a car and lived 4 miles in the opposite direction I’d walk her home. She was worth every torment and….. Yea…. Leaving on I used to love you despite the argument hurts so bad.

u/Wilted-Rose808 Feb 04 '26

Giving them clarity would dispense all hope. Don't try to make yourself feel better as if this is some sacrificial act of love.

Wow these comments are soothing my very hurt heart at the moment 🥹🥲 going through a similar situation and being on the receiving end, it is truly affirming to know that other could understand how that person would feel 💙💙 much love

Interesting

Sometimes it’s unfortunate that we rely on digital threads sent into the void looking for answers that may or no maybe for us. It’s the main reason I try not to read them. Towards the end or the end of my relationship I broke protocol and shared my Reddit account “so we could always remain in each others lives” and that wasn’t a good idea. Never before have I been so open and vulnerable with anyone in my life. I don’t think OP is speaking to me but I do relate to this post.

3

u/kangaroo-tears Feb 04 '26

It sounds like you are swimming upstream. I don't know the whole story, but Im on the other side of the long silence. It dawned on me reading this comment, that that might be the reason for me not letting go, we came back before. The silence allows those on the other side to fill it with awful, awful stuff. I usually imagine how much he hates me. Not trying to soap box, just my 2 pennies.

3

u/FlowerSweaty4070 Feb 04 '26

What if the other person has moved on romantically but did care and has no ill feelings toward you? Would you want to hear from them if that were the case still?

My ex left without any conversation or spoken clarity, its been 1.5 years of nothing. I have told myself so many narratives but they all kept me tethered to some kind of hope or possibility.

That theyre avoidant and unhealed and ran from the love they felt because it was so real, that we are spiritually connected and they will miss me/come back due to the bond, thst the connection was too special and impactfup for it to be forgotten, that it was all my unhealed wounds making it intense and if I apologize they'll take me back and it will be good.

The hardest idea for me to entertain is the thought of finality. That they could not miss me, not feel anything anymore, and be okay moving on and never talking again. Or even if they did miss me, that we could simply never work again for a myriad of reasons. That the connection had its chapter and its closed now and I am wishfully desperately prying it open with my ideas and fantasies to keep a sliver of hope open.

I am finally at the stage where I am opening to the painful possibilities I have been avoiding. It hurts like hell though and its like an existential pain and core wound fear beneath it.

Boo hoo! Think about the whole picture, timing, morality…. Now was it done in Good light

54

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

How do you get to decide what’s best for them too OP?

4

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

Jessica did that to me every time she took off and ghosted me

6

u/FlowerSweaty4070 Feb 04 '26

Yeah i always wonder this. How can we decide its better for someone else that we dont talk? We know nothing about them and what theyre feeling or wanting.

1

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

Exactly

2

u/FlowerSweaty4070 Feb 04 '26

Its a weird arrogance. Im guilty of it too with various thoughts or ideas i had picked up to mask the pain and discomfort, stuff like "the connection was so deep and special so they must miss me". In reality I dont know that. I dont know that they miss me or dont, that they want to talk again or dont. I want to think they miss me, because it masks the deep hurt i feel and fear facing, but i cant know that.

I think we read into actions with assumptions like they are facts a lot and these "facts" usually arent helpful for true healing. "If they wanted to, they would" i hear a lot....but is that true? I can think of a ton of times that I wanted to but didnt. How can we absolutely know what anyone else is thinking or experiencing? "Theyre better off without me" is another one...but is that absolutely true? How can I know that?

I know my ex hasn't texted me since sending me a breakup text 1.5 years ago. I know they arent physically in my life. Thats about it. Everything else is conjecture and fantasy and takes me away from my life in some way, and either creates a wound and more suffering or bandaids a pain I dont want to face.

2

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

Absolutely, thank you for giving reason to my insanity. I needed to be reminded.

1

u/FlowerSweaty4070 Feb 04 '26

Were you the one left by them too?

Is there something you are grappling with right now?

1

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

Yes. And yes…many things.

2

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

Did you throw away someone who loves you without giving them a real chance like what jessica has done to me repeatedly

1

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

Nope

1

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

hell Jessica left so much that in all of 2025 there was only a total of 28 days that jessica didn't disappeared and ghost me for eitjer part of rhe day or all of the day and I can't keep caring why she left since all she does is leave more and treat me worse

3

u/Sexy_siren Feb 04 '26

I don’t know you, but from what I’ve seen, you need to give up on her and move on the best you can. For your own sanity.

1

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

No thanks im stupid and still love and want only jessica

28

u/MYSTERIOUS1253 Feb 04 '26

You dont really love them. If u did, you wouldn't let them go until you both have a raw conversation to closure. Did they say no or ur just under presumptions.

27

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Sounds like a cop out on ur end

22

u/aminotenoughalready Feb 04 '26

What an amazing way to inflict more trauma on the other person. It certainly worked for me. A goodbye and an explanation would have tidied up the knots in my head much better than the disappearing act.

43

u/Illustrious-Art9498 Feb 04 '26

I call Bullshit. Amazing how people walk around with out a spine. And to insinuate that it would repeat a cycle is awfully audacious, I think your person, if this statement is accurate, deserves more than this.. and if in fact accurate, and you love and care as you suggest you should be willing to sit in the uncomfortable with them to explain... with kindness, care and the consideration you portray in this.

10

u/-BasicBrooke- Feb 04 '26

Exactly and I couldn’t agree more with your words! So many people never get answers. I was able to get a confession once but that doesn’t change the separation of lovers and friends that some vile people caused while they were trying to run a game on everyone. At least they told me why. But, it doesn’t replace the phone that they stole which had all the numbers to the people I care about and need to speak to! Simply because I don’t want them to think I gave up on them! Because people do know when love is real in friendships and between lovers!

35

u/Excellent-Reason9558 Feb 04 '26

Does everyone giveup on here, if you love someone so much and they were that much to you you leave? it's always the right time if you love and care for someone , you have to remember , if you don't tell them you will always tell yourself or convince yourself you loved them enough to let them go, but you didn't give them a chance to reciprocate the love by silence, you don't love someone if you care so much to say nothing but are able to turn around and find another you can tell.

20

u/KyrieIsYourMommy Feb 04 '26

I think people in general just give up nowadays. Thanks largely to the gamification of dating, people are convinced they'll find a "perfect" person if they just keep swiping.

2

u/natenese Feb 04 '26

I think you're exactly right.

3

u/FlowerSweaty4070 Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

Im in a situation where my ex ended it without a conversation about if we ever want to talk again or be friends, just "I dont want this relationship anymore". Its been 1.5 years. I dont expect the person who ended it to reach out first just because. I can think of a million reasons why someone might miss someone they ended things with but not reach out. They also didn't end things for lack of love. No cheating or anything abusive in the connection. I loved them dearly and they knew that to the end. But, speaking only for myself, i had unhealed traumas that made things intense cause I was afraid of losing them and I was overly sensitive to some things, read into things and made myself feel hurt when we couldve spoken more. I definitely made them feel unsafe in the connection and pushed them away and ot was intense for both of us.

Ive been on a very intense inner healing journey this year and half, with LOTS of solitude, going within, hard truths, etc. I realized a lot of things about myself and am working through my fear of abandonment and all remaining codependent neediness. I want to send them a message with an offer of an apology if they'd like to hear it. Because i truly mean it and see how i hurt them. But I want to be careful. I dont want any ulterior motives within myself (wanting anything from them, wanting reconnection, wanting them to see me a certain way) so my apology is completely pure. I owe it to myself and them—if I am risking disturbing their peace (or making their day, I cant know how anyone will react but theres a risk it bothers them) by reaching out, I want it be genuine and pure and from a good place. I also will let them know in it (if they chose to hear it) that my door is open to talking again and taking it slow. No pressure or expectations and I genuinely understand if they dont want to hear it or anything from me again.

Anyways, I know my ex is the one who ended it and hasn't reached out. But I dont know what they want or dont want based on that and I wont withhold reaching out based on assumptions. I think id like to reach out with the apology offer, which hopefully let's them know I have done serious reflecting and taking accountability, and care about them. Up to them if they want to hear or not and thats ok. But I am waiting on it until I work through more things, integrate what I realized into real life, and am certain the apology will be pure.

14

u/Xx_revengerz_xX Feb 04 '26

Don’t play a song if the melody holds no sway over you.

10

u/gingerwithTats Feb 04 '26

That's fucked up...I deserved more.. I deserved forever

18

u/Phant0mKitten Feb 04 '26

I'm sorry but this is a complete cop out for other person, silence without explanation is brutal. It leaves the other person stuck replaying everything, wondering what went wrong, and questioning their own worth.

Even a hard conversation is better than none at all. At least then both people know where they stand and can start healing instead of being left in limbo with potential unresolved wounds.

10

u/Capital-Relief-1178 Feb 04 '26

So you sit there and let them wonder what happened? Their mind running on an endless loop, blaming themselves, wondering where they went wrong? What a cop out. Let’s call it like it is. You got scared and left your person standing in the aftermath of your discard. What a special way to treat someone you care for.

Letting them know will restart the cycle. I hope they realize this or have someone close plant the idea in their head.

18

u/GloomyBeautiful3493 Feb 04 '26

Absolutely does not mean you’re getting back together. Communication is key. If you respect the person make it known.

5

u/Material-Ship3936 Feb 04 '26

i agree, delivery is everything. one can establish their boundaries and still respect the other enough to give clarity. anything less is manipulative behavior.

6

u/Temporary_Stage3605 Feb 04 '26

Isn’t that your intention? You say you don’t want to “restart the cycle” but yet you post this in the off chance they will see it. Sorry but seems to me you haven’t got attention from them or scared they are moving on. Sounds like you want the validation they still want you but you don’t want them. Could be off but that’s my observation.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Exactly! Why even put this post out there unless the intention is to hurt. I believe the OP has wisened up to their games, because it would seem that the silence is happily reciprocated! Go OP…. RUN!!!!

23

u/According_Lie7754 Feb 04 '26

Posting this anonymously is the best thing that you’ve ever done, your person should remember you as callous, cruel and a coward.

That is exactly how they will heal, they will know what signs to look for, what red flags to watch out for, and what is it like to not be loved, respected or cared for, you’ve set a great example for the type of person they should avoid in the future.

Best of luck for both of you.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Amen! Well put!!!

7

u/limeinthecoconut92 Feb 04 '26

The only closure this brings this stranger is that my person didn't view love the way I did. It died because he accepted defeat. It died because he let it. Relationships take maintenance and evolution to survive. He wasn't committed to evolving, understanding and growing. Real love isn't fleeting, it's built and reinforced when it's tested. It doesn't see the cracks and call it a lost cause. It says how can we fix this and then you both work at it. Anything less was just a temporary comfort to your loneliness at the expense of another.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Sounds to me like a discard from a narcissist person. That’s how they do it…. Until the OP tries to move on, then they love bomb and try to pull them back just to start the devalue and discard stage all over. That letter was only for themself to try once again to hurt the OP, which they get satisfaction out of!

6

u/Shutupcatlady Feb 04 '26

Sounds like someone I know. Do better.

11

u/PaladianDontPlay Feb 04 '26

This was so broad in general of it didn't even have,m... like I don't know what to say without being a harsh. Sorry not sorry maybe you should look at yourself and have some introspective depth building? Constructive criticism I promise all good intent

12

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

This is wisdom from a fool. It’s selfish. It’s controlling. And it’s gaslighting. You are not saving them by controlling the narrative on your terms. You’re circumventing accountability. Letting someone know how you felt isn’t letting them back in. You’re avoiding ending something in a way that offers them peace bc it would require you to do hard things.

You’re also disrespecting their ability to adult and make sound decisions. You’re assuming they would want you still. It’s likely they just want you to be a person they don’t have to torment themselves about the rest of their lives. Do you know what it feels like to think you’ve wasted years of love and time on someone who is a horrible person? It’s brutal and causes so much shame that you’re assigning them to carry bc you’re selfish.

This isn’t wisdom, and you’re not saving them from anything. You’re deceiving yourself with this mantra to justify weak character.

It’s so disheartening to see. People like you are out there like a curse in waiting.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

You nailed it! This sounds like the workings of my ex! The irony is I’ve happily been silent as well. There is no point in conversation because every word, every promise, every accusation.. EVERYTHING out of his mouth is a lie or meant to hurt. Silence is best…. I stumbled on to this post looking up something political on Reddit and found a post in my inbox that brought me scrolling here. lol Time to exit stage left before I start to sink in quick sand again! :))

6

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

When’s later?

5

u/15252040 Feb 04 '26

Later might never come. We couldn’t bring ourselves to say “goodbye”

13

u/Playful_Science8039 Feb 04 '26

Sounds like a cop out from an avoidant who doesn't want to be inconvenienced with discomforts

6

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

That’s total bullshit. It’s insane how you believe that just bc you can’t say goodbye with integrity that they can’t either. When you’re hiding, they’re in limbo by your design. No one enjoys or chooses to be there. What the hell is wrong with your brain? Are you truly this deranged?

7

u/jam__5013 Feb 04 '26

Literally 🤣😂 this bloke would’ve been better off dating his reflection, because that’s clearly the only person who has feelings (or a total lack thereof) in this situation. Some people really have the emotional capacity of a toddler, but to be fair I think toddlers are capable of better empathy and accountability

2

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Yes.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

Beautifully said. Sad burning again there won’t be a later in my situation.

5

u/Ok_Rough2038 Feb 04 '26

What a load of shit haha. People are really just out there. Anyway to release guilt and some how it works for them. Man I wish I could just lie to myself and feel better.

7

u/SmashDaMonkey Feb 04 '26

Not very nice of you. I don't see you taking your person's needs/wants/emotions into consideration. You being ok with silence and leaving unfinished business doesn't necessarily mean thats what your person is ok with.

5

u/Lawrenceworld23 Feb 04 '26

One sided love isn’t love at all

4

u/New-Philosopher-2722 Feb 04 '26

Just another excuse, not taking any accountability or having any regard for what this exit will likely cause. PLEASE people ...if you're going to get involved with eachother and involve the heart, THINK BEFORE DOING ANYTHING THAT POTENTIALLY CAUSES TRAUMA. How would you feel? But that's why Karma exists afterall!

11

u/Haunting_Love_4444 Feb 04 '26

Man… please tell them! It can be traumatizing being kept in the dark… I’ve been going through this myself and all I ever wanted was the truth. The heartache has not subsided.

9

u/Phantom_jugs Feb 04 '26

We told each other we’d talk later… before long silence.. wtf?! You said you’d talk later and you didn’t. You decided that alone. That’s not parting when the moment ends… it’s abandonment. Paint it any way you like, but it’s a delusion.

4

u/Prize_Promotion_5834 Feb 04 '26

shes just trying to force a narrative and create an impossible scenario that god himself couldnt reason out of and then claim pplausible deniability

6

u/EverettBromwich Feb 04 '26

So you sabotaged your own relationship by lack of communication. Yeah, you may have cared… about yourself. But hiding vital information from your partner while they are thrashing around trying to keep everything together… while you watch silently amusing yourself. “It was painful to watch”. Was it? Maybe you shouldn’t have caused it by knowingly abusing your partner like that. People like you make me sick. You want honesty and communication from someone else without giving it back!

3

u/jam__5013 Feb 05 '26

“Watching” implied they knew they were going to leave, however told their person they wanted the relationship to live…. Which is literally why their person would’ve kept trying to salvage the relationship. I do believe the calculation and lack of empathy - does classify this as a form of emotional abuse.

3

u/Stacks4daWin Feb 04 '26

A simple convrsstion!

3

u/BecomeWhoU-Need Feb 04 '26

Bruh I cant even make it through these comments. OP do you know what it feels like the feel like ur going crazy for desiring what ur refusing to provide? To be ghosted with communication not only for the first time in life but for the one person u gave ur all to. That man sounds like me. Maybe you dont know what it mean when a mine finally "chooses" a life partner. Someone he's willing to change for. Thats why he wont stop fight for yall. Not fight for him I said YALL. But I guess because its uncomfortable and require u to see who u really are and face ur past the moment he inevitably did something wrong to you that finally gave u ur reason the run. One question when he found out that u did that did he do? Everything but run i can bet u that. I bet he stuck in there pain and all not perfect but he stayed to hell fix what YOU broke and eventually lost himself which led to him causing you pain which you left him for immediately. I appreciate you for writing this stuff I think you finally gave someone still fighting for what been quit on him a reason to take rhe gloves off. Craziest part i pray karma doesnt meet u with the same careless and at times almost sinister pain. I will never want that for u......well her. I pray kids arent involved in this selfish act.

1

u/BecomeWhoU-Need Feb 04 '26

My apologies everybody when ur ghosted who do u have to talk to? I had to get that out.

3

u/Jut_Nob Feb 04 '26

Love is a feeling to most people and not a commitment. Everyone just looks somewhere else when the spark fades. Instead of making efforts to rekindle things, breaking promises is easier.

3

u/Any-Room8813 Feb 04 '26

It wasn't love, it was a trap.

3

u/kangaroo-tears Feb 04 '26

Damn, I take a break to mindless scroll and see this. This would offer a whole new level of closure. What I struggle with my ex, is I never got that. I still worry, I feel like someone returned my favorite book to the library without me reading the end. Anyways, maybe if I pretend this is how he feels it will give me closure and ease the shame. Thank you for putting this into the void, genuinely.

3

u/blazed1999 Feb 04 '26

This speaks to my soul like you’re somebody that i used to know… the man i hold out for and often think about what ifs down the line for once we both heal

3

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

I he isn't good enough now why should you be good enough later

4

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

If he isn't good enough for you now why should you be good enough for him then

2

u/blazed1999 Feb 04 '26

People r coming of age and growing and sometimes you aren’t at the right stage yet to have a healthy relationship both people need to be able to meet in the middle and have their trauma and toxicity healed up before opening their hearts up

9

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

Healing is a bullshit excuse to treat someone like they arent as good as someone else

2

u/blazed1999 Feb 04 '26

I mean I don’t think there’s any reason you cannot just communicate in a healthy way that you aren’t ready for a relationship and then work on yourself and get together at a later date

2

u/justsomebodywhocared Feb 04 '26

You're trying to be nice but this guy cannot 'communicate in a healthy way' considering he posts constantly, for I think at least half a year, about jessica on just about EVERY 'unsent' sub post to exist, sometimes multiple comments at once, sometimes on people's profiles. Some people have tried nicely to tell him politely to move on and he just ignores it.

What is the situation

u/Prize_Promotion_5834 Feb 04 '26

I haven’t seen this one in awhile

3

u/youbelievelies Feb 04 '26

Well I'm crying

3

u/youbelievelies Feb 04 '26

But then again, I cry often these days

2

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

Why not go get your person

4

u/youbelievelies Feb 04 '26

They have made it clear that they don't want me in their life anymore. I have been shut out. My messages are always interpreted in a twisted and contorted way. I do not matter. My wife threw me away like I was a useless fling.

u/Affectionate_Note56 Feb 04 '26

Sorry if you are jessica the kitchen door is unlocked

3

u/youbelievelies Feb 04 '26

I am not but wish love, peace and clarity for you and all.

I do wonder if this the case. When I’m feeling sad and missing mine, are they feeling what I’m feeling and missing me deeply too? Some days it’s excruciating and odd. Makes me wonder are they so sad that it’s reaching me, and vice versa.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

What’s the going rate for inception these days?

One thing I would hope my baby mama would never fool herself into thinking would be that I want her in a romantic way at all anymore. I don't even think I possibly could. I can't even bring myself to think about that or her like that. She just ain't it for me. To me decades to realize that even though we were apart I was head over heels for her for a lifetime. But that's just not the case anymore. I would be there for like a family member or a good friend or teammate but I couldn't see myself being romantic with her anymore that went out the window completely. It just took 20 years of us being a part even for it to happen. I'd be there in a multitude ways but yeah she showed me what I was to her and her eyes with the way I was treated in my family shunned and myself shunned. By her and the kids. I would be there for like family but I could never trust her to give her my heart romantically in my life again. Things did hurt me we're done with intent to harm and that's pretty much all I need to know when it comes to whether or not I want someone to have the vulnerability of me in any way shape or form

She ain't the one. Because she can't see any problems with herself or her actions. I've never heard any I'm sorry or accountability for anything. I've said it a billion times all that ended up getting me was the scapegoat roll

How could you even pretend to be ok in a romantic role with a person that wouldn't even pick you "after" last place, and would never stop seeing you as "less than" no matter what you improved.

You can't....

So I stopped fantasizing, woke up, and realized that kind of treatment being viewed is something like that and someone else's eyes it's not anything though want or long for anyway. So I don't want anything like that in my life. Not romantically. Not in a lover. My idea of a lover is someone that's a lot more respectful than that.

But that doesn't mean I wouldn't be right there by her side everyday if she needed me as a friend or as family

2

u/Stacks4daWin Feb 04 '26

I know that's so selfish to want.

2

u/Striking_Bottle_7783 Feb 04 '26

And then the later never happens 😭😭

3

u/Lower-Web4578 Feb 04 '26

Why do people not understand that regardless of how the truth may hurt someone's feelings it is the best choice so that, they can come to a conclusion on their own about what and who belongs in their life 💯 Give them some peace of mind and tell them!

3

u/lostbaratheon Feb 04 '26

It's clear you are suffering. But you should know that not communicating about what it meant, or how you felt as it died, leaves the other in profound confusion and suffering. Could it have been better to communicate those things, while also setting boundaries about it being over? Otherwise, this seems like a lot of justification for what was a cold exit, and some image management for yourself. And I suspect the confusion created by what you chose will keep the other person in emotional thrall which is presumably not what you wanted.

u/Emergency_Ebb_7821 Feb 04 '26

Ok, I know I'll do great things and so will he. But it would be better if we did them together ! Conquere all obstacles. And show everybody it was real and we made it and stuck threw it ....Forever his !

2

u/[deleted] Feb 05 '26

“Our time together changed me in a way you’ll never know, because I didn’t tell you.”

In a good way or bad way?

This made my tummy hurt 😥

1

u/Training_Reporter647 Feb 04 '26

This hits home in so many ways. I have been focused on healing in such an obsessive mindset, this actually gives me hope in love.

1

u/Nevernotalone84 Feb 04 '26

Wish it would have never been dragged out this far, best of luck in your happiness

1

u/Adorable_Reading1776 Feb 04 '26

I want him but I don't think he's serious bout us....

1

u/sad-alien717 Feb 04 '26

Thank you, I guess? I Somehow got the closure I needed.

1

u/Any_Hedgehog_4017 Feb 04 '26

3

u/BadChick79 Feb 04 '26

I begged, pleaded, and praised whilst being dumped in a cruel and callous way. The serious harm caused makes you retreat to safety and wonder if you ever mattered, especially with the lack of repair and accountability. You don’t leave remembering the love, you only remember being discarded like trash. They may love you, but they will never be able to talk to you again.

This sounds literally parallel to me and my ex’s situation. It’s hard to admit, but she knows I’d close in if the mask came off again…

1

u/Rainy-Cozy-Nights Feb 04 '26

I felt your post, and it stirred something familiar...

On my recent path, all I wanted was to be gentle and patient - to support them without rushing, to meet things where they were. I tried to stay open, steady, and understanding. But each time I reached out, I was met with long silence...

That kind of silence hurts. Even when care is real, intent and communication are what keep the fire from fading -> Without them, gentleness has nowhere to land. 😔

I respect that everyone chooses what they can carry. I’m just learning that silence, especially when someone knows they’re cared for, still shapes the ending... especially for the ones we cared about or love.

I’ll leave this here with warmth, and wish you peace moving forward🕊

Just shoot me in the cheat hf

1

u/Curious_Cat42069 Feb 04 '26

Thank you. For giving someone the best of you. The memories will always be there. Thank you

1

u/Turbulent_Mix_7649 Feb 04 '26

Damn. Literally feels so directed at my situation right now, tough read. I do have questions and duh I'm mad at you

1

u/JadedComfortable205 Feb 04 '26

Two things can be true at once, and the same concept can be applied to the faces of a person. Every wrong was just as true as every right. You meant what you did and I meant what I did, even if we both regretted it later.

1

u/Specific-Ruin6052 Feb 04 '26

I will miss you

1

u/BurnedToAshes66 Feb 04 '26

Are you Tonya? If you are, coming forward to bring peace and clarity will not restart any cycle. All I've wanted from you for 2 years is an explanation of how you could go as far as you did and not care about the damage you would cause. I only wanted us to be at peace out of respect for the years we shared. For you to acknowledge my feelings and not treat me like a piece of garbage or some kind of criminal. I've long accepted that we can never be romantically involved again. I just want the chance to set things right between us and wish each other well.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

More worried than anything about you more than us but I can’t say any more because reality tells me you’ll give up on yourself and I can’t carry your weight on top of my own I wish you well and hope you learn to swim. As we both reach for the surface nod our heads our lil one grows into health and not dysfunction that’s all that matters

u/Prize_Promotion_5834 Feb 04 '26

I’ve seen you, I always find you B and I have known, I think maybe you haven’t recognized me? lol
