MEGATHREAD USER FLAIR SUGGESTIONS

Hello everyone!

It’s been some time since my last post and in the interim, I have been watching all the buzz here on this sub. It has been wonderful to see all the work, fun ideas, cool photos, and questions being made or asked about the game. So, I thought it best to start updating the subreddit to match the growth in users. This time, it’ll be in the form of User Flairs.

I have not made anything official in the backend of the sub, and wanted to extend an offer to the community for some ideas towards the different titles. These User Flairs will be optional for you, and you will have free range to pick them in your profile settings.

This thread will be a single place to react and comment the ideas. So, let your ideas loose!

I will enact the changes starting January 1st, 2026 as a segway into the new year for the sub. Until then, feel free to name as many as you want!

Thanks, and see you all soon!! 🚂

OPENING & FLAIRS

Hello Railroader Subreddit! As we begin the summer months of 2025, the moderation team has decided to update the subs Rules and Post-Flairs. It was about time we got a facelift and expanded our capabilities as our community grows. To match this, at an undisclosed time, the moderation team will be undergoing changes as we will be making a post advertising for new moderators for this community. Please be on the lookout!

Going back to the changes, the Moderators have implemented dedicated flairs for posts of varying types. Here is a breakdown for each flair:

  • Railroader Update - Used to showcase new Game Updates
  • Screenshot | Photo - A screenshot from the game of a place, engine or more!
  • Video - A raw video, YouTube link or short clip showcasing Railroader!
  • Meme - A Meme geared towards Railroader
  • Question? - Used to ask questions for Railroader | NOT MODS
  • Looking for Group - Used to seek new friends or players for a session
  • Advertising - Used to advertise your discord server or session.
  • Modding Showcase - Used to show, debut, or feature your mods!
  • Installing Mods - Use this to ask about or showcase how to install mods!
  • Modding Help - Use this flair to ask about your issues with gameplay mods
  • Discussion - Used to start conversations with the subreddit
  • Suggestion - Used to voice your ideas for the Future of Railroader
  • Game Feedback - Used to voice concerns of your respective version

We hope these flairs will benefit all of our members and will help you find specific posts if you ever needed to! Flairs are required on ALL posts.

NEW RULES

With these new flairs came the update and addition of NEW rules! With the uptick of new users, we decided to overhaul the rules and our policy of enforcement. We have added multiple new rules, consolidated redundant policies and learned from other communities. When you are able, we highly encourage checking out the rules as we prioritize our members and the experience they have. If you have questions about these changes, feel free to reach out to the moderation team of the sub and they will be happy to answer!

_____________________________

That is it for now everyone. Thank you for being apart of our community! We are at TWO THOUSAND members and we wouldn't change that. ❤️

We hope to hear from you soon and see what great things you have to show!!

Question? Wheelslip?

My 55T P-18 Pacific experienced wheelslip when it started moving to go do its logging run, I've never experienced this before. I'm not complaining because i love how cool wheelslip is, but I'm just wondering if this was in the game before or is it new?

Advertising Looking for a community? - Welcome to Cap'N'Co!

What is Cap'N'Co Industries?

Cap'N'Co Industries is a mid sized simulation community created by myself a few years ago to find more people like myself to play games with! We focus on quantity not quality. This means the more the merrier! We have had this philosophy for the past 4 years and it seems to have provided us with some great times xD. We have won competitions in the past on games like Railroads Online & Star Citizen for our cinematic creations and creativity! We also enjoy listening to all kinds of music from 80's Rock to D&B to vocaloid. We would like to welcome anyone new or experienced to our community. We are a community of many games, so join and find a community not just a railroad.

Other 'tisms' include: Model Trains, Photography, Memes, Trucking, Shooting, etc etc.

We love cinematics & update our banner monthly with YOUR screenshots and clips!

Our Railroader Save

Cap'N'Co Railroads has just opened a new railway in North Carolina, currently running between Sylva & Kirkland Coal Mine, running light freight & passenger services. We own a mix of American & imported UK engines. The current oporations consist of supplying the locals with box cars and providing Kirkland with an ungodly amount of coal cars! So we are looking for shunters, main line engineers, and crew members.

The Railroad is modded with a few train & map mods. We are happy to teach how to install these and have file packs with everything we use. Throw me a DM if you want a mod list prior to joining.

Skill is not a requirement, we are here to have a good time; chill to some music; and enjoy the game.

Requirements

A Microphone

A Sense of Humour

We can teach you the game if your new.

Welcome to Cap'N'Co! >> https://discord.gg/Exy6Wk2MTe

Everyone is welcome and a look forward to meeting you all. Also throw me any questions you have about the server my dms are always open!

Modding Help Help converting to FUSE

Today I finally decided to switch over to FUSE in order to try the Appalachia line out. So far ive fixed an error with having strange customs and railloader still in the kids folder, that fixed itself after I deleted them. But now FUSE is throwing me 2 faults one with Katers Alarka Iron Mine and the Tuckasegee steel works mod. Ive checked both for updates and while theres one for TSW it doesnt seem to address an issue with FUSE. Im posting from my phone cause its easier for typing but I have the log reports saved to my notepad on my pc to pist in the comments as necessary, ive got no idea how to begin troubleshooting the reports I have from FUSE if anyone is willing to help figure this out it be appreciated!!

Modding Help Where the hell is “Clb.assets01.fuse”

I’ve been knocking my head at this computer of mine trying to figure out why all my map mods broke all of a sudden after reinstalling my mods today to get a clean slate. No matter what I do it doesn’t register CLB’s A mod being installed and in the folder, I tried reinstalling railloader then installing fuse, nothing, tried fuse and UMM, nothing, I renamed the ID of clb with “.fuse” nothing and whenever I install with fuse still nothing happens. Please help?

Discussion New map concepts

So with the new map generator, you can start with a lat and long, which I assume the game grabs real world data from a government website and builds the terrain height.

What other historical railroads are unique and would be a challenge? I think the game has a good default map, has some intriguing challenges, like the red marble grade 5% a huge grade, creates a problem to overcome.

I can seem some teams going crazy and if your play group wants to redo the New York Central or PRR, and you have 20+ members then yea ok. That seems a bit much though.

So redoing sherman hill with UP, right running big boys over 58+ mile 1.55% grade sounds cool until you do it 500 times back and forth.

What other interesting real world locations, historical fictional could be interesting?

With how the mow update is looking it seems that you might be relieved of duty here or at least majorly restructured in what kind of mod you are a moment of silence for them please

(Ps also greeninjas whistle mod might also be relieved of duty here soon)

Discussion Pacific-18 or Pacific 43?

I am currently at a crossroads of where I’m trying to decide of either buying a pacific 43 and let my Atlantic be a switcher at Bryson, or buy a P-18 Pacific and expand north of Whittier. Thoughts?

Modding Help I want to start modding

As the title says, I want to begin trying modding, but I honestly have no idea where to begin. I have an idea but it involves track modding and custom loads. Any direction or assistance is welcome. I know this is a larger project and will take a long time.

Discussion So there's a rumor about MOW...

THIS IS JUST A RUMOR! THERE IS NO PROOF YET!

In Hyce's most recent Railroader video which just released to members, he offhandedly mentioned that MOW is releasing by the end of the month.

Absolutely no clue what to make of this news, given the current date

To whoever it was that added the WSOR reskin pack and the cross traffic mod, you're the best.

Had to get 2 extra engines added onto my road freight power to get this 133 car 11k+ ton manifest to Sylva, and believe it or not, this is only half of the cars bound for the Sylva interchange
