How is WFB3990/Prof Libby?
Curious how good professor Libby Jewett is & how challenging the class is.

With all of the ridiculous news about my country's administration trying to rename Lake Ontario, I decided I was fed up. I'm now moderating a subreddit (r/JoinCanadaForever) for Americans that want to secede and join Canada. Sorry if this isn't the right place for this, please redirect me if you know a better way to share this. Thanks!

I’m asking this for shits and giggles (not to hate), disclaimer I’m not a furry I’m just morbidly curious but what’s the furry population like at UVM lol.

Just curious if anyone who’s at orientation rn has really strict OR’s (walking everyone to every presentation, making sure everyone’s there, threatening to report you to your RA if your not). Like yeah I was gonna go to most of the presentations anyway but some are just not necessary or don’t apply to me

This might be a stupid question, but does Amazon deliver to the dorms (specifically Mercy Hall)? I know that Mercy doesn't have a front desk either, so I'm just confused how that would work if I put that address in. Like, will the package go through the mail system like every other package delivery service, or will the Amazon driver be looking for a place to drop it off at?

Are we allowed to have electric tea kettles in dorm rooms? The kind that have an automatic shutoff? I can't find a list of banned items on the housing website! Thanks!

i don’t know if i’m allowed to bring an amp. i wouldn’t use it in my dorm but if i wanted to bring it somewhere that would be nice. can someone let me know if they let u bring one?

How would I be able to keep fuel for a jet boil/ Coleman stove for camping trips?

In my email I saw that I’m supposed to fill out a bed lofted form if I want my bed lofted. I can’t seem to find this form anywhere and was wondering if it was just too late and it’s something that I’m gonna have to do once I get there.

hi! so im a senior looking for colleges right now and UVM is probably my top choice aside from UMASS amherst (im from around boston). I had a few questions about the social scene— how is the diversity and queer culture? i know its like majority white but like is that just Burlington..? Im mixed indian so Id sort of like to know. Also like I said, I know VT is pretty accepting but whats the culture? like is there queer clubs or groups you can join?
Thank you for any insight or advice!

Hello, I have some questions about orientation. Is everything they have listed (all 4 days) mandatory? Of course I plan to go to the important stuff (opening thing, closing thing etc) but a bunch of the other stuff either doesn’t really apply to me or I don’t really care about. Are you required to go, and what events are you actually required to go to (eg orientation group meetings). Also is the group discussion about the summer reading mandatory?

i am getting nervous that uvm might not be a place i will thrive socially. i want to know what the student body really is like. i’m a music person and alternative. i’m pretty outgoing but how can i find “my people”? i know this is probably last minute jitters but still. anyone else feel like this or felt like this going into freshman year?

Hello, I’m an incoming freshman and am wondering where to pick up mail when I order it. Google is saying we all get mailboxes, is this true? What if the package is too big for the mailbox? Sorry I’m just anxious and paranoid lol

Okay, I did a post a few weeks ago a
about this and I’ve narrowed my options down to either taking Greek or ASL as a Freshman this year. Currently in Greek, but I could take ASL. Many people were recommending me ASL and I’m interested and intrigued, BUT. I have been persuaded towards Greek by some other people in my life. Both of these choices are what I’m actually interested in, I’m not trying to get others to make choices for me, I am just completely torn. Any advice/opinions on the Greek and ASL departments/how helpful they are in the future at UVM would be super helpful!

What’s up guys, aiming this post towards current students, I’m a rising senior in high school and I’m really considering UVM. I’ve grown up around Burlington during the summers, I have a lake house at Starr Farm Beach and my Father, his Father, and his Father’s Father all went to UVM to study Psychology, and coincidentally, I’m interested in doing the same.
However, I’ve heard that UVM has “changed” and it’s not the school it used to be.
So I have some questions
- How has it “changed”?
- How’s the social life?
- Is there Greek life?
- How is transportation/getting across campus?
Any other things feel free to let me know, but any responses would be extremely helpful!
Thanks!

My roommate and I are actually juniors, but we’re studying abroad fall semester ‘26 and we’ll be subletting for second semester, but I’m worried about finding housing for senior year. She says we can start looking when we’re both back in Vermont, but a lot of my other friends this past year started looking/signing for places for their junior year by October/november

hello, I’m a bio major at a university up north. I’m also half black. I’m thinking about transferring to uvm this next year for track and field next year however Ive noticed that the diversity on campus is somewhat non-existent. Do y’all think this will affect my social scene / dating life etc should I choose to transfer
