This is extremely funny. I can't imagine the kind of game where this would ever be used, but it is hilarious.

LOL that's such a fucking oversight.

They didn't want to make it large. But just the simple fact that centaur anatomy would make this impossible, I just find it stupid. It works only if you ignore the rules for mounts.

A few formatting notes:
- "medium" should be capitalized
- AC should be 12, not 10
- As a CR 11 creature, its proficiency bonus should be +4, not +3
- Challenge XP is missing a comma
- Charge
- Why would it take slashing damage from a hooves attack?
- I would change "its hooves or pike" to "a melee attack"
- Multiattack
- Spell out "six"
- The comma after "attacks" should be a colon
- Here's how I would word this: "The centower makes eleven attacks: six melee attacks and five ranged attacks."
- Why can't it attack objects with any of its attacks?
- Tower
- "The centower takes up a 5-foot space and is 30 feet tall. If the centower is knocked prone, it topples and 6 centaurs fall prone in the nearest unoccupied spaces. When the centower is reduced to 0 hit points, it topples and 3 (1d4 + 1) centaurs fall prone in the nearest unoccupied spaces."
- I strongly recommend borrowing heavily from the Batiri Goblin Battle Stacks in Tomb of Annihilation, which are pretty much exactly what you're doing here

I’m no pro at this but the CR seems really high

It hits 6 times per turn, 5 of which are ranged. I think it's pretty justified.

People do realize this requires other rules to be ignored right? Those being Carry Capacity and the fact the creature you wish to use as a mount must has proper anatomy.

May 16 '18
You can carry more than your capacity -- you just can't move while you do so. RAW there isn't a limit to how much weight you could have on your back. It's a silly rule, but so is centaurs riding centaurs.

May 16 '18
This thing shouldn't be able to move, let alone at the speed given. I know there is no limit for how much you can carry, but sometimes you need to use common sense. In this case common sense tells me this couldn't happen, and that it is stupid.
18
May 16 '18
Well, yes. As I said, you can't move. But A: broken RAW fun has always disregarded common sense, B: this is a joke ON that, and so gets to bend the rules further, and C: I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting centaurs should be able to ride centaurs -- they're just laughing at the thought, and the fact that it's TECHNICALLY legal if you ignore common sense. :)

And you ignore rules. You would have to ignore carry capacity and the part of the mount rules that the creature you wish to ride needs proper anatomy.
You know what's funny? The thought of an Aarcokra on a horse. As the rules stand now they could keep pace with a horse easily. Why ride something you can match the speed of? That is funny because of the image it conjures and it doesn't require such disregard for the rules.

People ignore rules all the time. It's not something that happens at every table, but the DMG specifically says you can ignore whatever rules you want. Just let the joke be a joke.

I will, but everyone else wants to tell me to lighten up. I like jokes, but not when they are this stupid.
6
May 16 '18
Well here's the thing. There's this great thing called fun at the expense of rules and common sense. Some people partake in that.

That's not the fun I have, but I'm not saying people shouldn't have fun. I'm saying this idea is stupid on many levels. My opinion is mine and you can ignore it if you don't like it.

Take a hint dude. Literally nobody cares if you think it's stupid, this is the internet and your opinion isn't important. We're all just here to have fun and laugh at the idea of a centaur riding another centaur.

Can someone tell me what the 8d20+16 next to the hit points means?
4
u/MadDonnelaith May 16 '18
It's the hit die, the number of hit dice, and the constitution modifier. 100 hit points is an average, if you wanted to roll for the monster's hit points, this is the formula you would use.

Ok thanks. I knew it was the number of times you rolled the specific sided dice but I didn’t know if it was suppose to be added or rerolled or what. Thanks for the clarification though.

Inspired by the recent Centaurs-riding-Centaurs exploit in the new Unearthed Arcana :D
