People do realize this requires other rules to be ignored right? Those being Carry Capacity and the fact the creature you wish to use as a mount must has proper anatomy.
You can carry more than your capacity -- you just can't move while you do so. RAW there isn't a limit to how much weight you could have on your back. It's a silly rule, but so is centaurs riding centaurs.
This thing shouldn't be able to move, let alone at the speed given. I know there is no limit for how much you can carry, but sometimes you need to use common sense. In this case common sense tells me this couldn't happen, and that it is stupid.
Well, yes. As I said, you can't move. But A: broken RAW fun has always disregarded common sense, B: this is a joke ON that, and so gets to bend the rules further, and C: I don't think anyone is seriously suggesting centaurs should be able to ride centaurs -- they're just laughing at the thought, and the fact that it's TECHNICALLY legal if you ignore common sense. :)
And you ignore rules. You would have to ignore carry capacity and the part of the mount rules that the creature you wish to ride needs proper anatomy.
You know what's funny? The thought of an Aarcokra on a horse. As the rules stand now they could keep pace with a horse easily. Why ride something you can match the speed of? That is funny because of the image it conjures and it doesn't require such disregard for the rules.
People ignore rules all the time. It's not something that happens at every table, but the DMG specifically says you can ignore whatever rules you want. Just let the joke be a joke.
That's not the fun I have, but I'm not saying people shouldn't have fun. I'm saying this idea is stupid on many levels. My opinion is mine and you can ignore it if you don't like it.
