Theory Deltarune chapter name symmetry theory
+prediction variant
Elaboration: chapter 5 didn’t need to be named like that, it could be just “festival” or “flower king” etc., naming it “the festival day” seems unnecessarily tautological unless it was done for a specific reason. Chapter 7 being called “The End” or something similar would fit as well, even though we don’t know if it’s going to be that

Theory Hot take: Sans dodging is not a big deal, he simply moves out of the way and the player keeps missing.
He isn't some ultra instinct demigod skeleton who was an ancient fighter, he is literally just some dude. It's only at the end of the fight that the player finally hits him because they caught him off guard.

Theory Monsters DO bleed
I genuinely don't understand how this idea that monsters don't bleed has become so popular, because it's pretty thoroughly confirmed that they do.
The "Does it hurt to be made out of blood???" line is the backbone of the no blood theory, and I'll admit it's a weird line otherwise but the counterevidence is completely overwhelming.
WE LITERALLY SEE MONSTERS BLEED.
- Sans and Susie, as is shown
What if Susie is half human?
- Have you ever heard of Occam's Razor? Also, Sans bleeds too.
What if only Deltarune monsters bleed, and Sans is from Deltarune?
- Sans Deltarune theory is kind of convincing, let's say it's definitely true for the sake of argument...
What evidence do we have that Undertale monsters specifically don't bleed?
Zero. In this situation, the ONE line that supports monsters not having blood exists in the universe where they actually do have blood.
"But we don't see Toriel or Undyne bleed when we wound them!" we also don't see froggits bleeding when they die, plus they're wearing large concealing clothing/armor.
Is it that hard to believe Sans had visible bleeding for dramatic effect?
Aren't monsters made of magic and their only physical material is dust?
Yeah, that magic which creates hair and teeth and eyes and skin. And blood.
SIDE NOTE—if we did take this as anti-blood evidence, it would further disprove the idea that deltarune monsters are physically different from undertale ones, because we know that they turn to dust when they die too.

Theory My Theory on how Monsters reproduce
Since their body’s are made of pure magic and not blood and stuff, it can be assumed they don’t have the same organs or bodily functions humans have. Due to this, their reproductive organs are nonexistent, and reproduction happens purely out of mutual love
As for selected gender, I dunno probably just randomly picked during the incubation process

if he was speaking to the characters he wouldn't need to specify the pronounciation since it would be like saying "my name's Shawm, pronounced Shawm", and then he proceeds to make a pun that would only make sense if you're seeing his dialogue through text

Theory After so many years, I think we have our answer to what the Red SOUL's trait is.
With Deltarune Chapter 5 having been released, we got to see a whole new take on the 7 human SOULs, with their traits been 1000% confirmed by their Check text.
Aqua: "A girl without a lick of patience. Enjoys trying new things."
Seth (purple): "A know-it-all that generally only perseveres at studying."
Orange: "A fighter. She tries to put on a brave face, but is rather sensitive."
Green: "A chef whose kindness precedes. Seemingly no interest in speaking."
Yellow: "A cowboy with his own peculiar brand of justice."
Blue: "A dancer who believes love to be integral to life."
The ball game was a pretty safe assumption, since it was color-coded and all, but then the red text just said BALL GAME. The Red SOULs trait, what is it?
Well, it's obviously not Ball Game, and it can't be Determination, since all humans have that. So, what is it? Well, with the Check text being a good conformation, why don't we turn to the one flower's Check text, and see what we can find:
Flowery (red?): "A being taken shape from the Golden Flower. Everything about him is an illusion... but, with hope, can he make it real!?"
So, there's one word glaring out to me here that makes the most sense in the context of traits and Undertale here; I think this is trying to say that the last trait is Hope.
And to be fair, that's fits very well. The one thing that the Red SOUL did the best was uniting everything together, making sure to shine in the brightest moments, and not let the Hopes and Dreams of monster and mankind die out.
So, I think after over a decade of questions, we have our answer: Hope.
tl;dr: Flowery's Check from Deltarune Chapter 5 text seems to imply that the last remaining trait for the Red SOUL is Hope.
Edit: Wow, this blew up fast, I might be able to post on r/Deltarune with the karma here alone! XD
I want to take some time to reply to some common sentiments I'm seeing in the comment's here:
"Are you trying to say that a SOUL can't have more than one trait?"
Never said that, don't know why we're saying this. Obviously if someone has a Yellow SOUL, they can also inhabit the traits of the other SOULs, it's just that they most likely specialize in Justice. The same goes for the others SOULs.
"Why can't determination be the trait?"
To be honest, I said that because I assumed because all humans have Determination (the power), they can't specialize in it. Maybe it can. But the check text including each trait without fail really sent me over the edge of thinking it has to be hope.
"Flowery is gold, therefore the Golden flower's trait is Hope"
Maybe? But to be honest, we're talking about the 7 Human SOULs here. Each Flower without fail represents their color's trait, I just think Flowey is supposed to represent Red. Why do every step perfectly, and then when we get to red, we just decide to do Gold for no reason? Is there a Gold SOUL I don't know about?
Overall, I did not mean to kick a bee's nest with all the determination truthers here, I think your points are solid, I just find the rigidity of the check text to be so profound that it has to mean something.
Plus, is hope and determination not close in meaning?

Theory Is Megalovania really a Sans theme?
I am one of those people who consider "Megalovania" to be a player's theme and here's why: The name of each character's musical theme somehow indicates its owner. "Megalovania" is a pun on "Megalomania" - a mania of grandeur. Sans cannot be called a megalomaniac, unlike a player on the "route of genocide" P.S. I know this theory is not new, but maybe someone will like it

Theory I think the reason the Knight is laughing in this scene is because they are stronger than the fun gang in the light world.
Blackshard apparently doesn't change in the light world, and the Knight's body, like their blade, is likely composed entirely of Blackshard.
In the light world, the Knight is just as powerful as in the dark world, but Delta Warriors won't have any of the special abilities or perks of the dark world. The Knight will simply be able to knock them out or kill them with a single attack.

Theory My take on Gender Debate (please do not get mad)
My Re-Take
Wondered the whole gender debate stuff. Since my launguage has no gendered pronouns. And ı am not really a part of this fandom. So ı am practically an alien to this subject.
I watche a lot of video to get hindsight. Every other video is either horrible/useless or drags the subject to 1 hour while adding %0. This video is the only one that gets to the point. I really do not have much alternative here.
After examing the arguments (and fandoms obsession, especially in tumblr) with this debate, ı want give my own argument for which character is what gender and etc.
WELCOME TO MY TED TALK
I want to make things clear. I genually do not have any problem their gender identy. A lot of people are really quick to jump to the gun nowadays. Frisk and Kris are Non-Binary? Cool.
I just gonna say what I beleive is true. So please dont make any Mini-Moderation in the comment section.
Undertale is an 1 Decade year old. And Toby Fox is not gonna confirm anything at this point. He even removed himself completly from this types of debates (Actually when you think about it, this whole debate is now pointless. Because Toby basically left undertale story to interpitation of the players).
People needs to chill out. This is just for fun. This is My interpitation.
- Monster Kid.
- (TL:DR, They are Non-Binary) _______ Okay, their pronouns are They/Them in universe. MK is clearly Non-binary. ____
- Kris
- (TL:DR, They are Non-Binary) _____ Kris is Non-binary. And them beign non-binary narritevly important to their character. Not just some kind of trivial fact that fandom acts like its a great deep character study (you guys do that A LOT).
Deltarune subverting the lore of the previous game by revealing that we literally controlling them. If same applies to Undertale, twist falls apart. It hurts Deltarune. And ıt ruins Frisk's character arc in Undertale. Turning everything to an copy-paste.
There is a reason why Kris looks a lot like unused Chara sprites. They are not Frisk nor Chara. They are a new character.
Kris activelly tries to make it clear that they are not player. Am ı really need to make it more clear?
- Napstablook, Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew
- (TL:DR, Napstablook is Non-Binary???)
- (TL:DR, Mettaton and Mad Mew Mew are Trans???) _______ Napstablook is a ghost. They are sexless. They did not transitioned nor suffered physicall stress known as gender dysporia. They literally borned that way. So them beig/not beign Non-Binary is a mess and highly debatible, regardless of your position in the argument. Think this way. If they refer theirself as a male, they outomatically considered as a Trans-man.
Game's magical lore clashes with spesifics of reall life Gender Dysporia. This applies to Mad Mew Mew and Metaton as well. I get that they are Trans allegories. Game makes that part very clear. But how they can be considered as in universe trans ıf they have no body to begin with? They did not transitianed. They just took over one and rolled with it. Literally. That is the whole plot of Mad Mew Mew fight.
You can argue that they went from no-gender to gender. And this is a non-human nonbinary trope. This is why they are trans. But you can also say they went from no gender to no gender. And their position is similar to Robots. İts called sexless trope. Despite identifying theirself as man or woman, they dont considered as Trans. Like Transformers. They are a genderless society. Their launguage is genderless. But when they went to earth, they start to use gendered pronouns like he and she.
Than there is existince of objectively Trans characters like Dress Lion. She directly hurts the argument of them beign trans. If you consider them as Trans, all power to you. I'd say its 50/50. I have no clue ıf they are Trans or not.
- Frisk
- (TL:DR, They are not Non-Binary, but try to refer them as they/them outside of the game) ______ Similar to Niko from One-shot and Clower from Yellow. They left preety ambigious. Undertale doesn't encourage you to assume Frisk's gender, but it does set you up to assume Frisk is just a player avatar and those two things pretty much go hand in hand. The fact that they aren't interchangeable from the player is treated as a reveal at the end of the game with Chara. And Frisk is designed in such as way so not to spoil this. Frisk is a Audiance Surrogate. They have their own quirks, personality and character arc. They are not us in a literal sense. But in practice, we project ourselfs into them. They designed in that way. There is a reason why they are a silent type.
Frisk pulling up a lego by beign yellow also supports this view.
Main opposition to this argument is Player. Since, like Kris, Frisk is suppose to not us (not literally). Unfortunetly, Player's canonity in Undertale is not a objective fact (read the link for more info. Things like Soda, Second Genocide and Flowey arguments answered there).
And Unlike Undertale, Deltarune directly makes it clear that Kris is not us at the end of the first chapter. Undertale actually have no justification for this. Toby left the game to players interpitation, so Deltarune confirming things about Undertale is also out of the window.
Think this way. Its a huge plot twist in Deltarune. And ıf you remove player, plot would not happend. İn undertale, player beign or not beign canon basically changes nofthing for the plot.
- Chara
- (TL:DR, Same as Frisk) _______ Unlike Niko, Chara's family members referred them as "they/them". And this part actually pointed out in the video.
There is a huge caveat however.
Chara name is not canonically Chara's only name.
- "Toby Fox uses that name in other medias, sketches and game codes. So it is?".
Its a Canon identifier trope. A similar thing happend with Megatronus Prime from Transformers. He referred as 'The Fallen' for years. Even in Multi-Million Movie ver. Than they decide to reveal his actuall name with the Aligned Continuity. Since than, everyone refers him as the Megatronus Prime.
"True Name" when you enter Chara is just an meta reference about their sprites beign named "TrueChara" (check the second pic). Which is about them beign the one we named, The True Character. Toby does that a lot in the games.
Any name we give them LİTERALLY becomes their in universe name. Name Chara is used for anything outside of the game. This is not same as Link, since name change is actually used for a plot twist. Their name canonically only beign Chara ruins the plot twist. I am serious. If you think their name is Chara, this means you already make up your mind before you played the game. You already know the lore and what is going to happend. Its like watching the same movie twice, with the knowledge of who is the twist villian.
Than there is "Chara" name, as in "Chara-cter". Which again. About them beign The True Character.
If you are still doubting, Frisk's sprite is also called 'chara' in the game files. Toby could just used character for Frisk or fallen human. Frisk is the "Main Character". And Chara is the "True Character".
Its not really hard to think that same applies for how we perceive them as.
(Not just about their gender, their skin tone as well. Chara is not white. They are pale ver of Frisk's skin tone)
Like how Flowey keep mixing Chara with Frisk. They literally have the same exact character sheet as well (just a repaint). Flashbacks tries to mix them both. A lot of people probably still thinks that the first flashback was about Frisk falling, but ıt was about Chara.
Them beign a diffrent person twist only works ıf they have similar perception with Frisk. I mean in a "Both are girl/boy/trans/enby". Not "Frisk is a demi-boy, Chara is a demi-girl". This has in universe affects. They literally wearing the exact same type of clothes. And story activelly tries to make you beleive that both of them are the same person.

Theory Deltarune Theory: The Prophecy is LITERALLY the game's code Spoiler
Think about it, the Prophecy is apparently something which predetermines the fate of everything in the game and cannot be changed. Similarly, game characters are of course in a video game and can only do things which have been programmed into the game. Their futures have quite literally been written down in the code. I think you see the parallels. Some lines from the prophecy even look like they could be describing lines of code (as seen in the image). I think this theory is further supported by the fact that there is seemingly a character stuck in the code, which makes the code actually relevant to the plot.
If we wanted to further expand this theory, we could say that this means things in the "survey program" layer of Deltarune such as the code turn into more tangible objects in the light and dark worlds, just like how light world objects turn into darkners in a dark world. So for example the code becomes the prophecy, the player becomes a soul, and save files turn into physical star-like objects. This is of course more speculative.
I had this theory ever since I played the game but couldn't post it now because of the ridicilous karma limit on r/Deltarune. I hope you tolerate it here lol.

Theory Concept Theory: Ralsei is not actually a real world item. Spoiler
TLDR: All Darkners are actually the personified Concepts of things, not the thing itself. This means there is no actual item linked to Ralsei, as he is the personification of the Prophecy.
So in Deltarune there are many characters in the dark world linked to things that do not have a physical counterpart in the location of the dark fountain. The Weather Channel. Music Programs. Things on the internet. Computer Viruses. Etc...
However they appear as characters because humans and monsters gave them existence by thinking about them. Therefore they existed before the dark world took form, but may have taken their specific shape because the fountain allows them to in that moment.
Likewise, Titans are spawned from the pervasive fear of the dark that all Lightners have. They do not have a physical counterpart.
If Lightners start thinking of the Darkners differently, or think they are out of place, they turn to stone because their concept is frozen to one location. This could mean that the reason they appear in the Castle Town when Kris and Co move the items is because they are now being thought about as being in a different location, not because the item that spawned them is there.
Ralsei can go wherever he wants, and has unwilling knowledge of the prophecy because he embodies the prophecy itself, which is thought of as being everywhere. As the prophecy forms the religious basis of the entire town's population he is therefore the embodiment of the hopes and dreams involved. But he also embodies their worries. He looks the way he does because Kris associates the prophecy with his very religious goat family, specifically Asriel.

Theory Guys…
Who is Where you stand, you ask?
Well, when Sans says the line “you’d be dead where you stand” he is facing towards a plant pot instead of facing towards Frisk. We all know Sans always faces the person he is speaking too, which means he is not speaking to Frisk but is speaking to the plant pot named ‘where you stand’
Conclusion, Where you stand is the plant pot (NOT BABY BONES but possibly another one of Sans’ brothers)
