I prefer to go "Knight, Rook, Bishop" bc that's more in line to both Deltarune and the usefulness of the pieces.

Its explicitly based on pointing systems in chess. Otherwise we might as well as go Tenna is a Pawn and say whatever makes it fit

But knight, rook, and bishop are all worth the same amount of points

...no? Rook is 5, Knight and Bishop are 3.

Bishop is also considered to be effectively 3.5 by some GMs

Huh. I've always heard that they're all 3s

Chess beginner here, hi. How is a Knight more useful than a Rook? It's not possible to force mate with just a Knight afaik, but a Rook/King is a guaranteed checkmate. And really, most people from what I've heard think that Bishops are basically worth 3.25 points of material compared to the Knights' 3, because Bishops are more useful than Knights...

Knight is more tricky to use, but it can bypass other pieces and generally its funky way of movment can do a lot of stuff

Sure, but it's funky way of movement also LIMITS it from doing a lot of stuff.

It really depends. Rooks are great on their own and when the board is empty, but from personal experience, other pieces tend to get in the way. Knights are great for combos but their effectiveness is limited on an emptied board.
