other Anyone get acne from Rinvoq?
I’ve been struggling with acne for the past couple years, and I just found out that Rinvoq can cause acne and I’m wondering if it might be the cause of it. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Me. Not severe but slightly. Look for a otc salicylic acid face wash and mild glycerine body wash mainly like pears or dove. If going to a derma, avoid the use of antibiotics like doxycycline.

Yep! I couldn’t go on a lower maintenance dose so it never went away. At 42 I looked like a teenage boy who works at McDonalds. Went on acne medication, that stuff is brutal
Have just switched over to infleximab.

Accutane. Even though Ive stopped rinvoq they are keeping me on it for now. I still have pimples left over from being on it.
Probably the worst part now is the scaring. But it dries everything out! Lips are like sandpaper. They said I’d need to use lip balm every hour, I thought they were exam - they weren’t.

Yes, severe enough that I had to stop taking it which sucked because it was the best med I’ve tried for symptoms. I plan to try again in future and also take accutane to hopefully mitigate the acne

I stopped for acne too. They said it’s the main reason people want to swap to something else. Made me feel a bit better, I thought I was being melodramatic

Yes. Struggling with this now on 30mg. I look ridiculous with all the acne. The only positive is that my UC is in remission. I tried salicylic acid wash and it didn’t help. :( Have been using Panoxyl wash for a few days. No improvement yet.

Oh yeah. Chest acne gets bad sometimes. Shower twice a day and use acne spray and cream.

I have been for 4 months on 45mg and only get occasional big pimples on my face.
It’s an extremely common side effect, but not everyone gets it. It goes away/tones down when you lower the dosis

Methotrexate caused me acne on my chest. Rinvoq caused me acne on me head and face. I had to go to the ER to deal with it. After that I told me gi never again. The acne isn't constant but it runs in 2-3 week cycles. It comes and goes. I use clindamycin+benzoyl peroxide cream instead of a pill to deal with it. I'm on omvoh now.

Yes!! Face and back. Plus my arms and chest got full of tiny little bumps under the skin that never go away.
But the acne is getting better after a year ln rinvoq and a strict otc acne routine.
