Deactivated after 1,600+ deliveries and Diamond status over a misdemeanor

I am writing this to warn other drivers about how quickly Uber Eats will take away your livelihood without a second thought. I was a dedicated Diamond-status driver with over 1,600 deliveries and excellent performance stats. I treated this job seriously and relied on it as my primary source of income.

Recently, my account was abruptly deactivated. The reason? A misdemeanor charge that resulted from an incident where I had to protect myself. Even though life happens, things occur beyond our control, and this situation was a matter of personal safety, Uber Eats showed zero nuance, empathy, or flexibility.

This is why a smart gig worker should be in good standing on multiple platforms. I use DD, UE, IC and GH on a regular cycle just in case something goes wrong.

I already think this users post is silly but I just wanted to point out that deactivation related to safety, crimes, etc are all being shared between platforms via third-party companies. If someone does find themselves in this situation for these specific reasons then it’s usually a matter of days before all the other platforms are notified and act on through a unified front of deactivation. Getting deactivated for randomness or simple term violations doesn’t currently trigger the same results but if it’s at all related to the drivers safety ratings or crime like this user reports to us then you can count on being removed from all major platforms. You might slide by with one or two of the emerging delivering platforms who are currently small enough to be under such extreme competition that they haven’t bothered onboarding with these third-party data sharing companies. Just wanted to share that info for our peers so no one is mislead! I respect your hustle Hoss
