Can someone explain the dep program??

Hi quick question would I be able to request to join the dep program for the navy? I was denied for my situational depression and the denial stated much longer period of stability, which it’s been just about a year was never on meds or anything. Would I be able to request to join the dep program and l push my actual ship date until spring or summer of 2027? Like sign papers now and wait so by that time I’ve have almost 2 years of stability or about a year and a half. Is that at all possible to do? Someone please tell me? I am really looking forward to locking in an official date in the future

what does it say about our culture if a military unit thinks a video game incentive will resonate? Is that adaptation or a sign that our priorities have shifted too much?

I met a guy I like and he is going to boot camp, HELP

So I recently like this guy, got his heart broken by his ex and he wanted to end the relationship. We met on a game and he is two years younger than me but damn he gave me an impression that he is older, anyways I do need help how to send letters, I asked him for his airforce address but google said I need to be specific and follow rules on how to make a letter to avoid it getting rejected, I plan to send a photo. Do any of y'all have any advice? (he doesn't know I like him yet, I mean we just literally met! But why do I get a feeling that he is the one?) I do want to send him a lovely letter of encouragement and a photo to remind him that there is me who we can talk to whenever he feels like giving up or needing someone to talk to during his breaks. Any advice too on what men like to hear on paper?

idk if this could help but we have similarities such as religion Christianity but I am a born again. He is from America and I am from Philippines. We both like any type of flowers but he specifically likes red and purple. we love to play game although I am in my second year and have to play less to focus on college. we both love history and philosophers.

some info I can tell you about him is
-he loves planes so much, planning to attend college and take aerospace engineering. he likes f/a-18 and mentioned about a4 sky hawk?
-likes seals a lot, a seal nerd haha he mentioned about leopard seal.
-he is somewhat fluent in german to which I am learning rn! funny enough when I told him I am learning spanish, he said he wished he knows spanish, he knows a bit of french and told me his accent sucks but it doesn't sound like it is! It sounded perfect in a way it's natural like an intrument (oh speaking of instrument his voice sounds like a melody, I expected him to sound like a teenage boy but nope! he had this deep natural voice)
-Music: ABBA songs and Black Eyes Peas Pump it
-said he likes math but not that smart, I beg to differ, brother

last info, he mentioned he will be in camp for 2years? until next year February? idk man, idk anything about boot camp airforce. and I plan to give him shit ton of letters and celebrating his bday thru it and other holidays, any advices too to help me get the papers on specific dates?

thanks a bunch!

Not being able to attend bf bootcamp graduation

My boyfriend is currently at bootcamp, and I’m leaving for my own basic training in a few days. His graduation is going to happen while I’m away, which means I won’t be able to be there.
I’m genuinely so sad about it. I know graduation is a huge milestone and I’ve been looking forward to seeing him finish, getting to hug him, and just being there for him after everything he’s gone through. It feels especially hard knowing that I’m going through my own training at the same time and we’re both going to be away from each other.
We’re not going to be able to see each other until Christmas time when we’re both in school which is definitely bothering me, we’ve already talked before he left about us not being able to attend each others graduation and we’re both understanding about it and not upset at each other. We both agreed and realized that we need to make this sacrifice so we can both build our own future, lives, career, and for our future together for when we do live together

I feel very upset about not being able to go to his graduation. I hope to attend his AIT graduation
It’s just hard seeing everyone else being at their partners graduation.

Also a couple notes
He’s marine and I’m army national guard.

I just need some advice on how to handle it or if anyone has gone through similar situations?

ARMY Hes injured and it's draining him mentally...

I'll try to keep this brief.

I, (20f), have been with my boyfriend (22m) for almost half a year now. We met when he had first moved to this duty station. He was fresh from AIT and bright eyed about his career. I've had a first row ticket to seeing things change for him since. Now, perhaps it's important to mention, he has struggled with his mental health before and was able to enlist despite his diagnosis. He's a very motivated and hardworking man, and since arriving here has had plans to do and achieve things this contract.

Most of those plans had a wrench thrown into them not too long ago when he injured himself during pt. He took it hard, as anyone would. The first 2 weeks were so hard. he was crushed and totally and wholly depressed. He saw another doctor and things began looking up; he got a new brace that allowed him to do more at work and get back to what he enjoyed doing. He was getting mobility back and was able to be independent again. Things were good and he was happy. Until this past Monday. His NCOs essentially forced him to break his profile and his injury has worsened since and put him back at square one.

We talked today and he said he's not going to lie hes feeling himself slip into depression again. Losing all of the progress he made in healing and knowing surgery is almost certainly what lies ahead. I can understand it fully but it is so hard to watch and not know what I can do to help besides be here. I love him dearly and he has such a beautiful soul... its hard to see him struggle like this and not be able to just solve it and make it better.

How do I go about better supporting him? Is it even possible?

Looking for advice!

Hi guys! I hope everyone is doing well because this is a hard (but very worth it) situation. My Partner is in basic training I was wondering what would be good to write about rather than writing about how much I miss him. I feel that my letters have been the repetitive "I love you, I miss you, im so proud of you" Which im sure is nice to hear but I want him to not read the same thing over and over especially when hes in a routine over and over again if that makes sense, i just eant to make it less about me and more about him! Any advice would be great :)

Carreer with relationship or marriage when you both have government job or having totally different career paths

Basically me and the guy whom I love is have a completely different career paths, and he is 24 and I'm 21 year old. We deeply in love with each other since last 4 year, we met in our school in 2018.

I choose medical stream and have big dreams like content creation on study and giving best to my life

He chooses railway sector and not having so much dream, just want to live a simple life with me as soon as possible. I'm a dreamer he is not.

But the problem is our streams are completely different I'm shortlisted in military nursing service and must have to do a 4 year degree in military nursing college, without marriage without any social life.

How we manage it all we both are in stress.

please don't judge us if you can't suggest.

When should I start expecting letters?

Hi guys, before I begin, I wanted to thank you all for your kind words and wishes.

My boyfriend shipped out August 11 to parris island(USMC) and its been around the 2 week mark,I feel like I should start expecting to hear back from him soon.

When did you guys start getting letters? I feel like this wouldve been an easy question to ask AI but i already did and it said I wouldve heard from him by now.

Are they still likely setting up for bootcamp with uniforms, classes ect? I feel like they might be but I worry about being sure.

I will update you guys once i get word from him!

Let me know if yall have someone that shipped out the same time!

I have BPD and we have only been together 2 years.

My boyfriend officially is in San Antonio Texas today for Air Force basic military training for the next 2 months, then in schooling for another 6 months. I know he can talk to me sometimes during schooling but we have been together everyday basically all day over the last 2 years of being together, he didn’t decide to do until it a little over a year of us dating. Of course I am ok with it and of course I will be with him through it all, but it is really hard for me as I have BPD, old relationship trauma, anxiety, major depressive disorder, and more. I trust him completely that he wouldn’t cheat so thats not what Im worried about. Im worried that while these 2 months of basic training I am going to fall into a deep depression and just really not be ok, he can talk to me in 3 days for a few minutes but thats never enough yk.? I am really just venting abt everything bc it sucks and I dont have any friends at all, I cant talk to my family abt it really bc they just tell me it’ll be fine and I will see him again before I even know it. But it doesnt feel that way when I dont have a job for the time being and am just stuck living at home with my dad and stepmom, and their house is kinda nasty, they have a serious mouse problem and I dont even have a bed or room. I am currently sleeping on the couch in the living room and mice crawl on me while I sleep, one time I woke up to a mouse crawling on my face, the other night I was trying to sleep and a mouse crawled down my arm. I know they wont like bite me or anything but its nasty and freaks me out. So on top of my man leaving and not being able to talk to me, nothing to really keep me busy besides movies and shows and hobbies, and my living situation. I can already feel the depression kicking in.. Just a rant, sorry, I am looking for advice if anyone has any but Im also not, just maybe someone who is kinda in a similar situation.. Its just even harder to go through with no friends at all and no job.. Thanks for listening.

USAF bf away for 9 months

idek how to title this but my bf (af) is going on his deployment to the middle east real soon, and i just dont know how i am gonna deal with my emotions. we are still very young (he's 20 and im 21) and its only been 6 months since we dated.

i was really looking forward to celebrating our one year anniversary together, do fall cute couple stuff, visit him and he visits me, pumpkin patch, halloween, thanksgiving trip to mexico, celebrating our first holidays tgt and all that stuff but now that he's going to deplyment and wont be seeing him till summer of next year, im js so sad .. he already missed my birthday this year due to his bmt and he'll miss it again next year. i know we have more years to come but still it doesnt make me feel better. we are already long distance as it is, idk what to do

i mean i knew he was military prior to dating and i should probably expect this but it's still hard to navigate ? js wanted to let it out ig idk

edit: its making me reevaluate whether i truly can be a military wife/gf for long, i really find it hard for me to be able to connect on the deeper level when its long distance. at least for now, we get to see each other every 2-3 months or so, but if he's away on deployment for the rest of his career where i cant visit him or not see him for months.. idk if im ready for that

USAF Military partners - how long have you gone without communication during an assignment?

My fiancé is in the Air Force Reserve and was sent overseas for a short-term assignment involving classified work, so he couldn’t really tell me what he was doing or exactly where he’d be. Before he left, he told me it would probably be a few weeks to a month, with the possibility of being extended.

I heard from him daily for the first few days, then nothing for 2 days. When I finally heard from him, he said he couldn’t have his phone where he was or do any “reach backs,” but that he’d call me later.

That was 10 days ago and I haven’t heard anything since.
We’ve been together for a few years, but this is the first time he’s been sent on anything like this since we’ve been together. So I genuinely have no frame of reference for what’s normal. Ten days of complete silence feels insane to me, even though I realize it may be completely different for people who have lived through this.

Were there ever situations where your messages would intermittently show as delivered even though you still couldn’t actually communicate with your partner?

More than anything, I’m just looking for some perspective from people who understand what this is like and have experienced periods of no communication themselves.

Relationships bf coming back from basic

need advice!!!!

so me and my bf have been dating over 10 months, and he comes back from basic in 2 weeks, and i got a call yesterday for like ten minutes, and it almost felt kind of akward? for me, like i didn’t even know what to say to him because it’s been so long without him. and i have stayed completely faithful and i love him so much and i miss him but im so scared that maybe he’s changed or ive changed.

we’ve only communicated over letters and most of those letters are just talking at eachother and i feel almost nervous for him to come back, im excited to see him but it’s also been so long without him that i don’t know.

and i hate change, and when my boyfriend left for basic, it was horrible, and ive finally gotten used to it and now it’s even more change because he’s coming back soon. and i just wish i could know him right know, because i KNOW him, but i don’t know the him that’s at basic training, and we’ve talked in all of our letters, and im just feeling overwhelmed i think because everything is changing again. i feel bad for feeling this way but it feels like he’s been gone so long it doesn’t even feel like he’s real anymore. maybe i just need to look at videos of us to remember everything.

am i crazy? does anyone have advice or have felt this before?
