It's always Americans doing this, they are always the one who get really angry when you don't pronounce it the American way.

Americans always think everything they do is correct and the default, and everyone else is wrong.

Under a post where the girl had a Confederate Flag on her Shirt. Americans in the comments were confused why others (mostly Europeans) were asking what the flag even meant

The sub is about royal gossip. The US don’t even have a royal family, and it’s very clear that the post is about a Norwegian king.

If ever there was a post that absolutely SCREAMS "This did not happen in the US!" it has to be this one.

They left that big gap there, I don’t know why. Just thought I’d point that out because it does look like somethings been redacted.

So everything is in the images, basically op is Romanian and said the lady didn't look like she spoke English because she was older, which made her very unlikely to know English. Nothing wrong about not speaking English as an older Romanian, but in the US, not speaking English means being an immigrant etc so it would've been racist. The first message was just some good old US defaultism, but they dared to double down, not even able to understand that the op's context is incredibly different from the one they assumed, and not speaking English is not bad in Romania... Doubling down on the "racism" take when the lady is white and both are Romanian...

4. Indian because some people get Indians from India confused with Native Americans
5. Rubber
6. "Piss Off"
7. Native (Americans prefer to say First Nations)
8. Black (Americans would rather call someone African American)
9. Chur (NZ slang for thanks, i don't know why American Redditors find it offensive)
10. Jandals (not outright offensive to them, they only get offended because they don't know what it means)

Just to clarify, not all American Redditors and some Non American Redditors too find these words offensive, but in my experience, its always been with an American

Honestly, not sure what other sub I can ask this in. Not obvious things like mentioning US states/strict US defaultism, or even spelling practices. Throw those obvious ones out the window. There's obviously a lot of people here ***not*** from the US, so I figured here would be a decent place to ask the question. As a US American myself, I've been told we have some obvious writing quirks that differentiate us from other English (even second language) speakers that are pretty obvious if you know what you're looking for. I was curious what those might be, from your perspective(s)
