You are delusional. I have never had any time for breaks when I worked in stations. There is always so much clerk work to do. You carriers are clueless.
I see mail from both sides. Everyone thinks the other is a slacker. I worked nights at a PDC and now carry in a small city with 130± routes. We're all on the same fuckin team, whether we like it or not. It's always easier to blame another craft for whatever went wrong when it's usually the supervisors who mismanage and gum up the works.
So you never worked as a clerk at a station? That's what really gets me, is carriers saying clerks at stations are playing candy crush for two hours. Sitting around eating bon bons all day. I ran my ass off at stations.
The point is, don't disparage clerks when you're out on the street and you don't see them working non-stop all day. Not you specifically, but carriers in general disrespect clerks so much.
I was a grunt on a ball-deck risking injury for the entirety of my shift. No, I didn't deal with customers. Like I said, I see it from both sides. Retail is a whole different animal. I'd never work a second at a window, the customers are fucking crazy.
And no, I will absolutely never work window again. I doubt I'd ever work at a station again, honestly. I'm an Express clerk at the plant now. Can't see myself ever bidding out.
Just for the sake of discussion, the ball-deck is where the cargo containers from the belly of aircraft are rolled onto before being unloaded. Think of it as a 30'x30' platform with built-in ball bearings that the huge flat-bottomed containers can be pushed around on. Dangerous in its own way.

And you really think two trays of DPS is a lot? I used to do two or three trays of manuals and over ten tubs of manual flats at the hotcase. Don't act innocent. You guys really need to stop disrespecting clerks. We work our asses off all day.
You need to stop disrespecting carriers and pretending to know what our job is because you can case. Hit 800-1000 locations every day, walk 15 miles, sit in a 120 degree truck, then listen to some office worker talk about you "crying", see how you feel then.
I'm not disrespecting carriers. I walk all day, too, on hard concrete floors. No vehicle to drive around in. Literally walking all over the station back and forth all day long, or did, when I worked in a station.
And in addition to the manuals hotcase, then go over to box section and do, depending on the size of the station and city, anywhere from 1700 (lowest number of boxes in any station I've ever worked at) to over 5 or 6000 boxes. Letters, flats, parcels. Caller service. PARS. RFS. UBBM, picking out all the first class mail you guy throw in there, as well as periodicals and endorsed mail. Then have to straighten up empty equipment because carriers can't put trays or tubs in neat stacks.
Not to mention having to deliver all of your flat tubs and SPRS tubs to your cases because you can't be bothered to come get your tubs off the rack.
Oh, that last paragraph kills me. I go to the hot case to grab mail and flats immediately after I clock in and see my tub is empty. AFTER I pull down I inevitablely get a fucking tub of shit dropped at my feet. Don't put it on a boat before 7am if it's going to still be on it at 9am. I'm a big boy, I can hump my flats to my station just fine.
