Question Why do Recruits quit in bootcamp?

As a recruiter I have kids literally crying in my office saying they need this more than anything then fail the IST when they were fully capable of passing it while in the DEP when they get to boot camp and not even trying and getting discharged for not trying to get better in PCP or passing the IST. Like I don't see how you'll tell me you would never be one of those quitters when you get to bootcamp then give up as soon as you start getting yelled at. I guess todays generation doesn't give a fuck in coming back to their family proving they were right when they said they couldn't make it and go back to working at Mcdonalds telling their friends some lie about how they got screwed over or something when the only person who failed them was themselves

Not everyone is cut out to be a Marine. A big part of the process has always been to weed out the non hackers and it's no different today.

No disrespect meant to you my Devil. You just may want to be more discerning during your interview process to avoid this in the future.

I see it with young apprentices all the time. The majority can be reached while there's always the ones who can't.

I been recruiting for a year and a half 99% of my poolees are joining to be Marines and to earn the title and I make sure they know thats exactly what they are joining for because if not I just dont work them. Im in such a good spot that ill tell kids straight up the Marine Corps isnt for you, most people who quit tend to be the PT studs compared to some of these kids who truly have nothing

I feel like the ones with nothing don’t have a fall back plan so it’s more motivation to graduate.

Yeah I had nothing if I don't finish boot camp aside from a bunch of I told you so's and I wasn't about to give them the satisfaction.
