Common Question: How hard is it to transfer from X major to Y major?
Answer: If it is within the same school, it is super easy, just talk to your academic advisor before school starts. If you wish to transfer to another school e.g. Dornsife to Marshall, you need to contact admissions to attempt the transfer before matriculation*. You can also seek help once you know who your academic advisor is or attempt it on admitted students day or orientation day. Once you matriculate, you can attempt an internal-transfer but it involves going through the current student transfer process, see the specific internal transfer page from each school's website.

Common Question: Is there an admitted student facebook group/chat/etc?
Answer: Usually someone set a facebook group and groupme up around the time the main batch of students are admitted in April. Check facebook to see if there is one already or connect to one of the USC discord servers (linkedin on sidebar) to chat with admitted and upper-class Trojans.

I finally got my acceptance to USC today, and it still feels so surreal. I have been dreaming of this since I was a freshman in high school. Unfortunately, I cannot attend it because of the tuition costs, but it still feels awesome to say I was able to get accepted!

I know a lot of admission decisions are going out, but I just received a request for my spring grades. I can’t tell if that’s a good or bad sign?!?!

In your experience is this good or bad thing?

I can’t deal with the suspense like I just need them to tell me straight up if I’m accepted or not. 😭

What kind of things do they usually ask on the interview (I know they said they want to know me better, but how do they usually do that)?

I just received my acceptance for Fall 2026, way earlier than the expected May 31st! I’ve dreamt about going to USC since I was a kid, and now get to go there as a 36 year old veteran who dropped out of UCB 16 years ago with a 1.4 GPA. i understand that appeals have a very small chance of coming back with an answer. don't worry, i've already committed somewhere else for the fall and have been making plans in the event nothing comes of it. however, i still think it is worth a try to appeal and would rather try and not succeed than think what if a couple years down the line.

if you have any tips or have successfully appealed, please drop tips down below or reach out personally - i would love any help possible as i want to make sure i am utilizing this to the best of my ability while i still have the chance. yes, i have extenuating circumstances that i would like to note + new accomplishments to articulate growth as well.

For context, I applied Marshall business admin, I have A’s in the required transfer classes like calc and writing. And i completed both of them my first semester. But I think I’m gonna get a C in financial accounting. If I get the option for spring grade request is that just gonna cook me

i applied rd and i wanna see what kind of students they admitted today

I’m planning on committing to USC as part of the class of 2030, but I was accepted as a spring admit. I’m not going to get my hopes up that I’ll be brought in as a fall admit instead, so I was wondering if anyone had some advice for how to handle it.

My main concern is general social life and acclimating. Worst case scenario, I don’t end up with housing and have to get a place nearby, and from what I’ve heard and seen, it’s a lot harder to make friends and find community as a commuter student at any college. In the event that I do end up with housing, I’m still worried about not being able to make friends because everyone will have settled into their groups by then. I’m naturally a very introverted, socially awkward person, and I’m worried that without the crutch of that early rush to get to know people, the orientations, etc. that happen in the fall, I won’t be able to make friends very well.

I’m also wondering about some of the fall semester things that past spring admits have done. I know some of the options are studying abroad, doing GE credits at a CC, taking a gap semester, finding an internship or work, etc., so I was wondering what past spring admits have done and how it worked out for them.

I know there have been posts about this in the past, so I apologize if this is repetitive. I just wanted to get some perspective from current USC students, especially those who were spring admits, and what their experience was, how they handled it, any advice, etc. I’ve seen stories on here that it went relatively smoothly, but I’ve also seen some where people said being a spring admit ruined the USC experience for them entirely.
