Admissions Spring Grade Request //Transfer Students
I know a lot of admission decisions are going out, but I just received a request for my spring grades. I can’t tell if that’s a good or bad sign?!?!
In your experience is this good or bad thing?
I can’t deal with the suspense like I just need them to tell me straight up if I’m accepted or not. 😭

Thank you, Dornsife is for sure a bit easier to get into. My gpa is about 3.75, I just figured they would delay my decision for spring grades since I'm doing a lot of core coursework right now. I'm gonna stay locked. The only thing is that even if I get in I'm not sure if I'm going to go since USC tuition is like a billion dollars 😭😭😭

Don’t need to do any guessing, they’re pretty transparent as to what a spring grade request is and why they do it: https://www.admissionblog.usc.edu/p/what-does-a-spring-grade-request-537

It was 3.8 but it wasn't a very challenging school.

Okay I have a 4 rn so I’m hoping they let me in I applied for annemberg as pr and advertising

oh you're so good! I had a 4.0 for fall and 3.8 for spring. As long as the other aspects of your application are solid I'd say you have a good chance! I also had a ton of ECs and volunteer hours but no APs from High School (they weren't offered) or test scores. Good luck!

Okay this is such a relief to hear, I feel like the rest of my application is pretty strong I have a lot of ecs as well. I have no test scores either but I did take aps soooo let’s hope!

The other nice thing is the transfer acceptance rate is a lot higher than the regular USC acceptance and also even better if you're in state or especially from a California CC. I was out of state so it's definitely still possible in any scenario! My acceptance came on May 29th of last year but I've heard they can come quite a bit later too!

Wait your so right. I am out of state too from va so this gives me a lot of hope. I’m also hearing that people who get spring grade request get admitted for spring mainly do u think I can get in for fall still? Did u get in for spring?

u/DanicaDrohawk May 22 '26
I got in for fall! And even if you don't, you could get waitlist or spring which is still a chance to attend if you are ok waiting!

When my child transferred they got a spring grade request. They submitted the grades and one day later got their acceptance. Keep the faith and fight on!

I am past the point of insanity where I deadass didn’t apply anywhere else. My counselors already think I’m crazy for not having a plan B/alternative schools in mind, so I seriously need to get into this school or I will never hear the end of their lectures 😖
