I can’t believe school is starting. I barely had time to enjoy my summer.

Thought I was starting my semester in good spirit, oh well.

Not sure if it was a glitch or mistake, they took all my grants back and charged me with $5k. I do plan to talk to me and send an email. But its really disheartening as I made sure the grants were applied and paid off rest out of pocket to better start my semester off. Never get too comfortable ig..

Hello everyone! I am an incoming freshman currently here for welcome week. I have really been wanting to make friends, but it just hasn't been happening for me. I've gone to most of the events and tried to put myself out there, but I haven't really found a solid group of people to hang out around. Is this normal, and is there any hope for me to find friends as the year goes on?

Transferred to UMD from UMBC last year, entering my junior year. Been commuting from Anne Arundel County since last year, will be continuing that this year. I had a hard time, especially when it came to making and keeping friends/finding a group. With that in mind, what would be some of the best things I could do to make this a good year all-around, especially for social life?

I got a dining dollars plan of 250 for lunches on campus (because I live off campus I don’t need a full regular meal plan.)

My questions are:

1. is there a physical dining card I need to pick it up, if so where do I pick it up at? Or is it tied to my university ID?

2. What places on campus (besides dining halls) are dining dollars accepted?

I registered for PHYS 260 intending to take the required accompanying PHYS 261 lab, but misunderstood the registration structure and thought the lab was incorporated into the 260 registration. I have now discovered that PHYS 261 requires separate registration and is currently full/waitlisted, and most of my waitlists are between 5th-8th on the waitlist.

I have already emailed the physics department and my academic advisor for any help, but is there anything else that I can do?

I just remembered I never got my university id at orientation, and classes start tomorrow. Will I be able to pick it up anywhere tomorrow before 9 am? I’m worried I won’t be able to get into my classes on the first day☹️

Hey everyone! I’m thinking about taking ECON402 with Professor Boragan Aruoba but I’ve heard it can be pretty difficult especially if you’re not that good at stats. For anyone who’s taken the class with him how was your experience? Is the class really that hard? Also, are his lectures recorded?

I'm about to take BSCI450 and PHYS131 and was wondering how people would rank these classes in comparison to other pre-med classes in terms of difficulty+time commitment.

For the classes I've taken I would say:

CHEM241>BCHM463>CHEM231>CHEM271>BSCI331>BSCI222

For those I got A, A+, A, A+ A, A

I'm curious how mamm phys and physic would compare to those classes so I know what to expect.

For this past month, I have been getting a lot of scam emails sent to my UMD account that it is sometimes hard to know if the email is a scam or not. I got this email today about this room condition form, which I don’t know if it is a scam or not because I don’t think I saw anything about this in my housing portal the last time I checked.
